Barbri was very easy to access. But Barbri did not provide substantial assistance for issues. For example, Barbri would sent an efficient email acknowledging the request for assistance and then not provide the assistance. Barbri classes are outstanding and I believe the instructors, overall, know what to teach. But the Barbri question designers follow their own path and the teaching goals and Barbri question testing goals are not aligned. For example, you can attend and understand the class and then fail the Barbri questions. When the questions are carefully reviewed, those questions were often never covered in class. In the past, I used Barbri to successfully pass three Bar examinations in California, Nevada, and Alaska. But the course has changed since then because there is no effective assistance for questions or issues and the people developing questions follow a different track than the instructors. Unfortunately and particularly for Florida, the Barbri question designers failed to properly prepare us for the actual test. The classes teaching objectives and the Barbri question testing objectives should be the same and directly aligned. Greg Heritage

If I had the chance to choose again, I probably would not choose Barbri. The MBE questions did not correlate to the actual questions on the bar. They were too specific and too nuanced. When I took actual questions from the bar, I found myself overthinking out of the practice questions taken from Barbri. The essay questions were great practice questions and I found those to be the most helpful.

Aging video lectures which need updating/refreshing. Some material not presented in consistent manner between lectures, outlines and supplements. Average experience.

I purchased learning materials from Barbri to prepare for the SQE exam, and my experience has been mixed. For SQE 1, I found the materials quite helpful. They provided a solid foundation and covered a lot of the necessary content. However, when it came to SQE 2, I was disappointed. The revision book failed to cover some essential topics, such as leases, which I neglected to revise before the exam. This oversight contributed to a stressful experience during the test. Additionally, I found the number of practice questions to be inadequate. With only 20-30 practice questions available across five subjects, I struggled to get the practice I needed. This left me feeling uncertain about how to approach the exam and answer questions effectively. Ultimately, I failed the SQE 2 exam, which not only caused me stress but also resulted in significant financial strain. I now have to work for over a year to save money for additional materials from another company to better prepare for my retake. Overall, I would recommend Barbri for SQE 1, but caution anyone considering their materials for SQE 2 to thoroughly assess if they will meet their needs.

Passed both exams on my first attempt. First prep course was much more structured and prepared me better. I passed with good margins. Second course was more independent and I am not sure it covered everything that came up in the exam. Tutors are really good but perhaps the material should be more comprehensive.

SQE1 course was great. SQE2 course was awful. Not enough mocks, not enough slots out of working hours, forcing you to take time off work weekly for the video calls. The threat of losing the course’s second time guarantee if you don’t do 70% of the mocks was incredibly stressful. The scheduling team were rude and unhelpful if a slot was missed due to illness or work. The feedback from tutors varied wildly. The dashboard was absolutely unnavigable. The textbook was useless as well. I just ended up teaching myself using the SQE1 resources.

The lectures and activities are very helpful and well explained. However, when I get stuck on something there is no one to ask for help. I have the most contact with my coach, but she doesn't seem to have access to Barbri, and doesn't seem to know much about the course material or be able to answer questions about law. There is a button that supposedly allows students to submit legal questions but I've never been able to get it to work. There are periodic strategy sessions with a tutor and a group of other students, but these are rare and I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to ask legal theory questions in these sessions or only questions relating to the practicalities of sitting the SQE1. My experience of Barbri so far is of isolation. There is no down time built into the schedule either. The 40 week course leading up to the SQE1 has no breaks. If you fall behind due to work schedules, personal circumstances or illness I have no idea how you're supposed to catch up.
