Poor Experience After Being a Long-Time Customer I’ve been a long-time customer of this bank and expected better treatment from a company I’ve trusted with my credit for years. Unfortunately, my experience with their credit card has been very disappointing. Consumers should be cautious when using this bank’s credit card. In my experience, they can significantly reduce your credit limit, leaving you with very little available credit and potentially making the card appear nearly maxed out—even when you have been responsibly managing the account. This kind of credit-limit reduction can have a serious impact on your credit utilization and overall credit profile. Long-time customers should not assume that years of loyalty will protect them from sudden changes to their available credit. My advice: be careful, monitor your credit limit closely, and don’t rely on this card as your only source of available credit.

Are they trying to get rid of customers? I have used Barclaycard for years. Recently. due to a disputed transaction they requested I send them copies of my passport, drivers license and social security card in order to reinstate my now blocked account. I did, hard copy by mail from high resolution scans. They refused to accept them, saying they were illegible. After an hour talking to people at Barclays, all of whom sounded like robots and actually sort of were because none of them had the actual power to fix this and were apparently totally beholden to a security policy that blocked them from interacting with me as a customer. I gave them all the info they would need to verify who I am, mother's maiden name, address history. They already have my voice from voice recognition tech. So goodbye Barclays. Probably a good thing except unfortunately I will lose my accumulated miles.

I would rate zero if possible. Very frustrating first experience with Barclays and the Carnival Rewards Mastercard. I was approved for a 4,500 dollar credit limit, received and activated the card, and on that same day went to Sam's Club to use it for the first time. I tried to make a 611 dollar purchase, but the card was declined. I called Barclays and spoke with two representatives. The first said the hold had been lifted and told me to try again, but it was still declined. The whole situation wasted about two hours of my day and was embarrassing at checkout. I was then told I need to provide additional documentation, including a faxed copy of my driver's license. Until I provide that, the card remains on hold and is essentially unusable. I've had other credit cards over the years, and never had to send documentation just to use a newly issued card. One of the main reasons I got this card was for the rewards and Carnival stars. I was trying to work toward the 50,000 point signup bonus by spending 1,000 dollars in the first 90 days. Because the card was declined, I couldn't make the purchase or earn the rewards and stars I was trying to work toward. Very disappointing first experience with Barclays.

Absolutely disappointed and livid about my terrible experience. I will be paying off my balance and then canceling my card because I have zero interest in doing anything with Barclays. I contacted customer service about sending a purchase to the incorrect address. I contacted them within less than 24 hours. The representative confirmed that we applied to get the order canceled and that I would be notified when it is approved. I then contacted them a day later to confirm it was submitted and he said it was and that it would be approved. It never was and the order was still delivered to the wrong address. I called customer service and asked for the charge to be disputed considering my efforts to get it cancelled and the lack of honesty from the representatives I dealt with. I just got a notification that the dispute was denied and it’s because I apparently “had the opportunity to return the items”. How would I have been able to do that??? It wasn’t even delivered to my house or an address that I even had access to. I would have just sucked it up and paid it if I didn’t make any effort to resolve the issue. But I put in so much effort just for this terrible company to slap me in the face. I am a college student who just ordered some clothes for my graduation ceremony and instead of paying $100 I now have to pay $200. I don’t have that type of money. This multi million dollar company sure does though.

NEVER consider having a card with them! They “invite” you into applying through different channels like Priceline website, then they dig into your credit history leaving a damaging pull, and only THEN they tell you to mail a copy of your SSN card, photo ID and other highly personal docs to a wired PO Box address for “extra verification”. Calling them to inquire would not be helpful or just waste your time. Brief - I’m glad my Barclays story ended not even having started!

Ive held a Barclays MC for close to 20 years. I’ve never missed a payment and pay a lot more than my minimum payment due. My card was up for renewal and I received a letter stating that my credit card was canceled! I called to inquire about this and was told I have no appeal? I said you do realize you stand to lose money from this practice. They don’t have any explanations or seem to care. Good Luck to your future

This is definitely the worst Bank I have ever dealt with. I got the JetBlue card. They wanted me to use it so I can reach my bonuses. I charge $10,000 they lock my card. I called to verified told him it wasn’t fraud sent them all the information they wanted a week later the account is still locked. I paid them in advance for all the charges. Call them after I paid and asked them why my account was still locked. I could not get a straight answer. I have perfect credit for the last 25 years. I have over 10 major credit cards and I owe less than 3% across all of them. I am what they call a perfect customer with not a single late payment in my history. This card has caused nothing but aggravation. I called them and told them I want them to refund my 499 yearly fee and close the card which they did and I could not be happier will give my business to a more capable bank.

All I wanted was to change my "Secure Pass" info from my E-Mail info to my phone number instead. { I was having problems with my E-Mail account ). After talking to someone who I could hardly understand, and spending @ 20-30 minutes looking for someone to solve my problem, I just gave up. This was just a P>O>S> waste of my time. I will be so glad to finish paying off this card balance so I can shred my Barclay card.
