Overpriced cakes
Overpriced cakes! Do not as I did waste £150 on a cake from this company. The cake looked like it was shop bought from Asda dare I say the Asda ones look better! I ordered a jam and buttercream filling and the only sliver of jam was on the bottom layer barely there! The cake was tiny and honestly not worth £20 never mind £150! It surely must have been mass produced not bespoke! I bought another bespoke cake for £80 in June which was much better quality, looked more aesthetically pleasing and nearly half the cost! Do not waste your money in these cakes...
Also customer service email do not respond.... shock !

CAKE FELL APART!
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH A CAKE FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION!
You will NOT get the cake that you think you're getting.
My cake was poorly made. I don't care how many reviews they have claiming their cakes were great! NO! My cake didn't look like my design. Also, the cake fell apart after a 15 minute car drive! Almost $400 for a cake I could make at home! Go to a REAL BAKERY where you see actual bakers who are NOT working from home! You do NOT want to get screwed like we did with a $50 credit for a future cake! A future cake? Why would anyone order again after being misled thinking these bakers worked from a bakery and NOT their homes. I didn't realize these were HOME bakers until I paid my deposit. You've been warned.

I had to cancel my cake within less…
I had to cancel my cake within less than 24 hours and they refused to give me a full refund, took $180 for their cancellation policy when my cake was only $150, I immediately told my baker when I had to cancel and she had no problem with it, it wasn’t even enough time frame for the cake to even be started, I ordered the cake at 9:30 at night and by 9 in the morning I had to cancel. My friend got covid which is why I had to cancel and they requested I give them my friends personal medical Info to prove it. Very rude business.

Hi Samantha,
You placed a last-minute order with less than 3 days to your event date. Last-minute orders have a ‘Strict’ cancelation policy, which means there are no refunds. You were shown the cancelation policy during checkout and you agreed to the policy when you placed your order.
Its important to point out that custom cakes are handcrafted, made-to-order and perishable. There is a lot of work that goes into planning, ordering supplies & refining the design right after you place your order. Furthermore, your cake artist declines any new orders for your event date & time to ensure they can focus on your order. This is why we are unable to offer refunds for last-min order cancelations.
However, considering your unique circumstances, we offered to make an exception and refund 100% of your payment if you submit a valid COVID report. Since you did not submit a valid COVID report, we refunded your tip amount and issued a credit worth 100% of your balance payment. You can use this credit for any order on BakeStreet within the next 6 months. We believe this to be a fair resolution and hope you’ll give us a chance to serve you again.
Thanks,
The BakeStreet Team

Hi Aigerim,
You canceled your order 3 days before your event date and asked for a refund.
Your order cancelation policy states that there are no refunds for cancellations within the last 7 days of order due date. You agreed to the policy when placing the order. We understand that plans sometimes change and we made an exception and issued you a credit of 100% of the amount paid.

While we are unable to offer any refund, we believe the 100% credit we offered you is a fair resolution. Your BakeStreet credit can be used for any new order in the next 6 months. We look forward to serving you.

Bakeatreet alright, baker was awful…
The whole experience to book was pretty good but there was no way to see their work. I booked somebody and the outcome was AWFUL. I asked her to make it realistic and it seemed to have even rushed through. I paid almost $300 for something that would have probably cost $100 had I used thumbtack or another service where I can have more conversation prior to booking

Hi Dipali,
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We're sorry that your cake artist failed to meet your expectations and your cake was missing some design elements. We investigated the matter and worked with you & your cake artist to issue a partial refund and a credit towards a future order.
While we thoroughly vet all cake artists on our platform and continuously monitor their reviews and rating to ensure quality, there are unfortunately some rare instances when the cake artists come up short. Your feedback goes a long way in helping us improve the community of cake artists on BakeStreet.
We are glad you liked the experience of booking your cake artist on BakeStreet and we hope you'll give us an opportunity to serve you again.
Thanks,
The BakeStreet Team
