I’m honestly impressed by how convincing this Birkin dupe is at first glance. For a bag that cost a hundred bucks instead of ninety-seven thousand, it’s quite an accomplishment. That said, the leather feels unusually stiff—almost rubbery—and the croc pattern gives away the imitation, since it doesn’t taper naturally toward the edges. It looks like someone stamped the pattern in with a hot iron, which makes the “croc” part a bit too literal. On the bright side, the little metal feet at the bottom are excellent, the inner pockets are genuinely well thought-out, and the bag handles heavy books without flinching. It’s structured, stylish, and sturdy—just not soft or subtle. In short: a nearly perfect dupe, if you don’t mind that the crocodile once lived in the imagination of a factory mold.

Hi Suzana, Thank you for sharing such thoughtful and detailed feedback about your bag. We truly appreciate your honest perspective and are glad to hear that you find the design convincing and the structure sturdy—especially for handling heavy books! We also appreciate your notes on the leather texture and embossing. As we aim to balance affordability with aesthetic appeal, your observations provide valuable insight as we continue to refine our materials and craftsmanship. It’s wonderful to know that features like the metal feet and interior pockets met your expectations. We’d be honored to have you shop with us again, and we hope your next experience feels even closer to perfection. Warmly, The Baginning Team

I was nervous about the quality of the bag when I ordered it, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bag is sturdy and the leather is good, just wished that the interior was leather as well. Because of this I don’t know how well it will hold up. But I definitely will be purchasing other colors. I just wish that there were more colors available that shipped from the US factor so that I can get my bag quickly

Received a very nice bag. Am happy and will order again. Quality is lovely and it looks like a certain brand even though it comes with a cross body strap. Which improves it somewhat for usefulness. Will defo order some of the others that I saw and liked.

Certain Items I should never buy online because I have to feel them to really know if I like it. A bag is one of those items. The reviews were so great that I went ahead and purchased the vertical soft leather tote. It is a nice bag and made well. I would have liked the leather to be softer and for the bag to be lighter weight. Totes get heavy quickly when I start loading them up. I may wind up loving it, only using it will tell.

Hi Richelle, Thank you for your honest review of the leather tote you purchased from Baginning. We're glad that you found the reviews helpful in making your decision to buy the bag. We understand that certain items are better to be purchased in person, but we're happy to hear that you're satisfied with the quality of the bag. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you'll continue to enjoy using the bag. Best regards, Baginning
