Web site states Eastern Box Turtles. Ordered an Eastern Box Turtle as described on the site. they sent me a hybrid. Turtle is healthy and happy, but its not what i wanted. has no color and looks nothing like an Eastern Box. They said i knew it was hybrid because the invoice indicates that. ok, well the website says eastern box. these emails went around in circles. If i knew it was a hybrid i would not have ordered it. I told them they should change their website to indicate to people they may receive a hybrid. they have not. They were also not helpful in the least. If they were somewhat understanding i may have ordered from them again , but since they had such a bad attitude, i wont.

Seeing a lot of bad reviews 😟 was going to buy a tortoise and a Scorpio but, idk now. There’s like only 15-20% great reviews.

They sent me a sick water turtle. After two days that she couldnt even swim and refused to eat, she died. Now Backwater reptiles refuses to refund me the $65 I paid for the order, because I sent the dead turtle picture but they want the shipping box picture. This is ridiculous. I will fight for my money back in the credit card company. NEVER AGAIN! DON`T EVEN CONSIDERING BUYING FROM THEM.

I ordered a Mexican Fire Leg Tarantula from them and got it as expected. When I opened up the package, I realized that everything was packaged loosely in there. When I opened up the deli cup that my Tarantul was in. I found that there was 1 tiny air pocket for air. This is unacceptable! I was surprised it wasn't dead. Other companies have several holes in there, and everything is packaged more securely.

i got my blue iguana 2 months ago. they messed up my address and he was stuck in a box for 2 days before i was finally able to receive him. luckily he was alive but he was very bony. for some reason i couldn’t get him to gain weight and tonight he passed away. they sent me a sick lizard and there was nothing that could be done to help him. i honestly wouldn’t go through this company to get any pets. i’m devastated.

Sent me a pet with missing toes! When i sent email to resolve issues missing toes being the main one, i got dead ended. Do not buy from them, you wont know what you are paying for till its to late.

If I could leave zero stars I would. We ordered a bearded dragon and the poor thing arrived so sick. He hasn’t eaten anything, he barely moves, and he’s probably going to die soon because we’ve already tried everything. We’re trying to contact a vet but there are none in our area that are open on a Sunday. Do NOT buy from here.
