I wish I could do 0 stars this place sucks don’t ever order from them they are a scam I ordered a something and they tried to sell me something different and I agreed then they told me it was to cold in my area which is understandable but when I orders a corn snake they asked me If I wanted my “python” to be shipped to the nearest facility when I never even orders one this place is a scam and they are rude :)

Note they make no distinction between captive bred, captive born, and farm bred. I ordered a blue tongue skink from them that was labeled 'cb' but it was very clearly wild. Worst of all, when I received it it was horribly sick and needed immediate medical attention. Customer support dodged my requests and blamed me. AVOID.

Worst customer service I've ever encountered!!! I have sent numerous emails regarding my dead tarantula that showed up 4 days after I ordered it. I sent several pictures of my dead tarantula and even tried calling backwater and I got their voice-mail and it was full so I couldn't leave a message. Haven't heard back from them so I won't be doing business with them again and I strongly urge anyone else from dealing with them.

absolutely horrible! they sent me a sick Red Eyed Croc Skink! he was fine the first day I got him and died the day after! Never going to buy from them ever again. I'm STILL waiting on an email from them about the 7-day guarantee. I want my money back!

WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!!! I bought a snake on this website and received it the next day- only it had mites and ticks all over it. The snake was so underweight that the skeleton was practically bulging past its skin. The mouth was infected and the snake died three days later. These Loony toons are not a good business and if it was possible to get them a negative number start or a zero I would . They are terrible people treating these animals terribly and nothing more than exploiting animals to make a fast buck and then blame the VICTIMS for their incompetance and negligence. DO NOT go here unless you are trying to buy SICK AND ABUSED REPTILES.

I ordered a water monitor..I live in NH it's winter time and they shipped him with a cold pack??? Like What the hell! When I took him out of the box thought for sure he was dead..so so cold to the touch.. no movement then I seen his eyes move just a little bit..so took him and wrapped in a warm shirt and put him by the heater..1 hr later came back to life..gonna keep a eye on him for the next 48 hrs just to make sure..but not happy at all with backwater reptiles..really need to work on there shipping..

BEWARE OF BACKWATER REPTILES This is the most disrespectful and rude business I have ever dealt with! They have no regard for their customers or their animals. I know people who have been delivered sick or diseased animals. They also advertise animals on their website as being in stock and available for overnight shipping to your location then they take your money and the next day they send you a personal email trying to persuade you into buying something other than what you ordered cause they do not ship “ currently” to your state! When asked why they didn’t disclose this information they tell me to have a “cheerful day” and that they choose not to do business with us further...This business is nothing but Lies and total scam artists
