Horribly ran business. I bought a bearded dragon for my wife and paid for their "guaranteed overnight shipping... 2 days later we contacted them and they said they never sent it. So we replaced the order, another two days later, no damn lizard. After contacting them the second time, they told me yet again they never shipped it, and by contacting them any.further would cause further delays.... So I asked for a refund, and another two days later have not received a refund... Fuc* these people. Don't waste your time people, honestly.

First off I would give zero stars for this site, it just wouldnt let me. Second, I ordered a Hydro Zero Bearded Dragon from them with overnight shipping and its been 4 days and I still havent gotten it. I have emailed them to give me a refund, but I have no responses from them. DO NOT ORDER FROM BACKWATER REPTILES THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND YOUR ANIMAL WONT COME IN THE MAIL!!!

Do not buy from here that will keep ur money and not send the animals and say they could not do it because the billing address did not match they our lairs and full of bs

I ordered a red knee tarantula, they sent me a sling and it was in a box without any holes, a heat pad, and inside a plastic container I live in FLORIDA why on earth would it need a heat pad. Took 5 days to ship then finally arrived. I feel awful, i cried so much. Its ridiculous. She passed.

The first time I ordered a reptile from these guys was roughly two years ago, when I ordered a cb blue iguana hatchling. The baby came poorly packaged (was not a hatchling) in a netted bag within a box and was severely dehydrated, covered in dry, flaky skin and very underweight. Now that some time has passed, I figured they may have improved their practice so I decided to give them another try about two weeks ago and ordered a high white california kingsnake. They sent me a confirmation email and also warned of the severe weather which did postpone the shipping date. They then sent me an updated shipping date. Then that date also was postponed to the following day. The day the animal was supposed to arrive, they sent me another email saying "we're sorry, upon PACKING we realized we are out of high white cal kings". So, they led me on this nearly two-week long wild goose chase and took my money for both the animal and shipping only to ultimately inform me that they never had the animal in their inventory to begin with. Highly unprofessional as originally assumed. Will never order from this incompetent business again.

Bad customer service My order was cancelled due to different payment methods because we ordered for multiple persons their response was poor stated we should stop placing orders for they will be cancelled automatically worst customer service I have ever experienced

Ordered a tokay gecko. Heat pack was cold and gecko was long dead. It already smelled bad. Very disappointed. They don't refund shipping which is the bulk of the cost. I am afraid to have another one shipped (for reduced shipping). This one was in bad shape already. Very thin and dehydrated looking. UPDATE: They said warranty was voided because I didn't ship to a hub for pickup. No refund at all. They offered another at a deep discount. I refused. We ordered from another company and received the gecko today (also shipped to our home and it is colder now then when we received the dead one). This one is alive and healthy....again from a different company. I do not recommend backwater. Their guarantee is a joke.
