My husband and I purchased the Doppler at 18 weeks. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able find my son's heartbeat on my first try because of the rotten luck I had previously with an iPhone app. As soon as I put on the gel, I started low and mentally prepared to wait. No more than a minute later, I could hear my son's heartbeat loud and clear! With a front facing placenta my doctor warned me that that I wouldn't feel my son move a lot unless it was on my side or when he kicks my cervix. At 25 weeks, I feel him all the time now but whenever I notice that haven't had a lot of action, I'll whip it out and make sure he's ok. We suffered from 2 previous miscarriages due to IC. As a high risk mother, stress levels are typically super high ALL the time. However, this 30 dollar device offered us peace of mind. Which is priceless.
