First I will say that I'm basing my experience on their customer service and their product, Aetherion Max. I backed their Kickstarter and anxiously waited among the thousands of other backers. When it arrived I immediately unboxed the projector to see how it looked and the packaging was very well done with no visible imperfections, scrapes or dents. I was excited and immediately powered it up and projected it onto my wall (not the intended viewing surface but I just couldn't wait). In my experience the product has delivered on all accounts. The product produces an amazing image at 120" on my floor-rising projector screen. On my textured wall it looks really good even though there is texture that causes tiny shadows due to the angle of the light projecting upward. But I bought the screen for this projector so that's what I use and the picture quality is outstanding. I did have a scare when I was setting it up and I'd reached out to customer service. This outreach was on a Saturday and I was contacted by them very early on the following day (Sunday). I'd discovered the solution to my concern on my own but I was happy to know that their customer service was responsive and ready to assist. I do want to get their ThunderBeat sound system but I'm not sure I'll drop the cash for that at the moment. The projector has a very good built-in speaker so I'm going to be using that for the time being. Great product and equal customer service.

Meine Bewertung betrifft die motorisierte Bodenleinwand. Habe diese geliefert bekommen, so weit so gut. Jedoch hatte diese auf der Leinwand auf den Seiten Wellen in der Leinwand selbst und schloss nach deim Einfahren nicht gerade. Ich reklamierte dies und bekam irgenwelche Schienen die auf die Rückseite der Leinwand geklebt werden sollte um die Wellen auszugleichen. Dies funktionierte kurzzeitig. Jedoch nach einigen Monaten drückten diese Schienen sichtbar durch die Leinwand. Ich reklamierte erneut und bekam die Antwort dass sie mir mehr Schienen zusenden würden. Auf die Reklamationen dass diese durch die Leinwand drücken und man dies am Bild sieht, wurde gar nicht eingegangen. Ebenfalls wurde mir mitgeteilt dass wenn die Leinwand schief einfährt, dies keinen technischen Mangel darastellt. Jedoch werde ich mir ja für über 2.000 Euro als Kunde eine Leinwand erwarten dürfen, die auch gerade einfährt und nicht auf einer Seite heraussteht sobald diese eingafahren wurde. Also an alle die vorhaben Produkte von AWOL zu kaufen: Solange alles funktioniert gibts keine Probleme, jedoch sollte etwas nicht passen, erwarten Sie nicht dass Sie irgendwelche Unterstützung oder Reklamationen von AWOL bekommen. Für diesen hohen Preis, besser Finger weg!

I immediately sent photos of this handling to support. 28 July 2026 – Agent Ray's Refusal: Support agent Ray responded to my complaint by shockingly claiming that the courier slinging a fragile, high-end home cinema item over his shoulder was completely "acceptable" and fine handling. 29 July 2026 – Forced "Field Destruction" Mandate: Because shipping the damaged, oversized item back was too costly, agent Shayla issued an official mandate. She ordered me to physically slice the projection fabric and upload photo/video proof before a refund would be granted. I complied perfectly and destroyed the screen as instructed. 11 August 2026 – Underhanded Stall Tactics Begin: After verifying the destruction, Shayla completely changed her tone. Because I kept a PayPal dispute open to protect myself, she sent a deceptive email claiming I would have to wait 65 days for my refund unless I voluntarily closed my claim.12 August 2026 – Evidence Logged & Escalated: At 8:39 AM, I sent a final email refusing to drop my consumer rights. By 8:50 AM, I uploaded screenshots of their deceptive "65-day" scare emails directly to PayPal to expose their bad-faith coercion tactics. Summary: This company operates a highly deceptive support desk. They defend reckless courier damage, force you to ruin equipment, and then deploy fake timelines to scare you into dropping your legal buyer protections. Order #UK1016.

This is about their service and, at best , misleading advertising. On the website it said in stock and ready for delivery, however one I emailed them 3 times to find out about delivery I was told its 2 weeks. Multiple un answered emails (I think they answer about 1 in 4 of my emails) decided to cancel order as it hasn't been shipped or anything. Still waiting to hear when they will refund me. Again they answer about 1 in 4 of my emails.

Das Bundle aus Beamer und Motorleinwand ist technisch hervorragend und sein Geld absolut wert. Den einen Stern Abzug gibt es ausschließlich für den miserablen Transportdienstleister GEL Express und den wenig hilfreichen Kundenservice in dieser Zeit. 2 Tage Lieferzeit für den Beamer und 2 Wochen für die Leinwand. Die Hardware selbst verdient die vollen 5 Sterne. Beamer und Leinwand sind qualitativ sehr hochwertig verarbeitet und das Setup funktioniert nahtlos zusammen. Die Bildqualität ist exakt so, wie man es sich in dieser Preisklasse wünscht. Hier gibt es wirklich nichts zu kritisieren. Die Logistik war dagegen sehr anstrengend. Die Spedition war tagelang weder per Telefon noch per Mail erreichbar. Eine echte vorherige Terminabsprache gab es schlichtweg nicht. Das Tracking aktualisierte sich am Liefertag erst um 10 Uhr morgens und kündigte spontan eine Zustellung für den gleichen Tag zwischen 14 und 16 Uhr an. Bei so großen Paketen ist das ohne flexibles Homeoffice kaum machbar. Der Händler-Support lieferte während der Wartezeit leider nur Standard-Antworten und verwies an den Spediteur. Wer also ein tolles Heimkino-Setup sucht und bezüglich der Lieferung etwas Flexibilität mitbringt, kann hier trotzdem bedenkenlos zugreifen.

I have an Aetherion Max and an issue doing the update. The support from AWOL was absolutely fantastic. The projector was back up and running in no time at all. As for the product itself it’s just stunning. Can’t recommend the company and product enough.

I had a 3500 that began to have dead pixels. Customer Service gave me an option to buy the part for $600 and fix it myself or pay $2500 for a new 3500. I paid the $2500 for a new projector and sent my projector to them back in November. Once I confirmed my unit had shipped, 3 days later I was told I would have to wait until January for a new unit. I was told if this was unacceptable, get the projector back from UPS, which was not possible. I have had no response to my emails since. They have my old projector, my money, and refuse to communicate or respond to my emails. I have asked for return of my old projector and my money back and have been ignored. I will have to take this up with my credit card company for the $2500 and small claims for my old projector. Completely pathetic from a so called reputable company.
