Misleading preview 'record' count
I was shopping and a dealer gave a report 'preview' that showed the number of 'records' associated with the vehicle. I purchased the report and these 'records' are not visits to a mechanic shop, but each individual item ever done to a car, like changing oil, changing brakes, changing rotors. So it may seem like a lot, but it's deceiving and tells you no info about how consistently a car was serviced, since each visit can have any number of 'records' associated with it. Carfax makes sense - each record is a separate service visit. This is crap. I asked for a refund, and they brushed me off.
