Audiogon scam
Referred to audiogon by a reliable dealer to find values on used audiophile equipment. The site asked for addl $5 to connect me with an expert (happy to do) then ushered me through an elaborate and lengthy process, to unknowingly arrive at JustAnswer that connected me to a 10 yr old who knew much less than I about the price of gum —much less b& w Woofers. Then I noticed the site had just charged me $65 and an ongoing monthly subscription, me mistakenly having agreed to obtain info under the auspices of audiogon “experts.” To their credit after must bashing from me, JA customer service agreed (?) to refund the $65 and cancel my monthly contract. We shall see. These are possibly two of the biggest scam vendors hiding under legitimately-vetted businesses out there. The customer service assistant child (16 years?) was bethrottled that I would wish to pass up a finger-tip opportunity to obtain wisdom about all wonders of the known world for $65 a month. My loss.
