Atmosphere PressReviews of atmospherepress.com

I've received excellent guidance from the wonderful editors at Atmosphere Press. I strongly recommend Atmosphere, especially to emerging writers. My developmental editor was especially good. She helped to transform my manuscript into a finished, cohesive novel.

The staff at Atmosphere are friendly, courteous and eager to help in any way they can. I would thoroughly recommend them and I look forward to working with them again Jeff Goldat

So far I'm very happy with Atmosphere Press. My novel is not quite out in the world yet (it will be available in early November 2026) so the process isn't fully complete as I write this review -- but based on my experience so far, I expect the final product to be as good as possible. I've enjoyed working with the various team members who have all been friendly, efficient, and professional. Having worked with a different hybrid publisher years ago, I had some idea what to expect about the overall process but I've been pleased to find a better level of communication and options coming from the Atmosphere Team. I'm very impressed with the developmental editing process Atmosphere Press provided me -- it was actually fun, and involved Zoom calls with the editor as well as email. I've also loved the design team's efforts and am really happy with the book cover image and written blurbs they produced. I feel involved and my feedback has been taken seriously. The proofreading and formating work was also impressive. It is pricier than doing it oneself but for me it was worth the cost to have professionals doing the heavy lifting. I would definitely recommend using Atmosphere Press if you want a professional result without the stress of "doing it yourself."

Very professional experience, with a well-thought-through workflow. The individuals at all the different stages have been extremely constructive and helpful. I also found the transparency in the process to be both reassuring and respectful, and as such much better than many presses where the different stages happen out of sight. Overall - excellent.

5I sent them a manuscript The Beautiful Devil and they have just been lackadaisical. No automatic acknowledgement like with McCauley and others. Wondering how good they are to be honest. I got a reply eventually saying I'd passed on their offer of 2025. Yes, it was a prose poetry collection which really needed a deeper pass. So I said no. But they failed to note I'd sent another book entirely and don't seem to have spotted the difference. Update: they finally got round and offered to publish. Now, I wasn't that concerned of whether it was going to get an offer or not. I know it is a unique book born of a dream. But when you send something very few have read you sort of want an acknowledgment. Any creator will feel this. I

My experience with Atmosphere Press has been wonderful from the beginning. They are an excellent, efficient and encouraging team of professionals, who have made publishing my late husband's book a reality. The team always responded to my questions, and did so in a kind and friendly manner. At each stage from developmental editing, cover, proofreading, etc., I felt we were working together for the best outcome! What a great group of people they are! Many thanks to you all!

The staff was wonderful: supportive, friendly, informative, helpful. At each stage, I was impressed with their professionalism and their approachability. My project manager was wonderful. My editor was very insightful and offered excellent advice.I was so pleased with the look of the book. The design director and his team were terrific and very responsive to my input. The book cover is just what I hoped for and the interior design very appealing. I was also very lucky to have an excellent, careful proofreader. In short, I found the publishing process far easier and more enjoyable than I expected it to be.

Atmosphere Press has high standards and is very approachable and friendly, with editors who are professional and encouraging with excellent, constructive feedback to fine tune my writing and a terrific cover design until I was completely happy. With opportunities to meet and speak with members of the team to keep communication open and with me being involved from the start has enhanced my debut fiction journey.
