I am a Disabled Veteran rated at 100%. I was informed by the pharmacy at the VAMC that they are unable to accept medication/ medical products that I no longer use to include Diabetic Test Strips. I saw an advertisment for 'Assist Diabetics' online and decided to send my ACCU CHECK Test Strips to this company for an agreed upon amount. I received a prepaid box from 'Assist Diabetics' and I mailed my test strips to the company. I received a message informing me that my items were received and a check would be mailed to me. Seven days later, I received $5.00 for the Test Strips. The amount I received is definitely not what I was expecting based upon the documentation I received from 'Assist Diabetics'. I contacted 'Assit Diabetics' on 12.27.2023 at 888.310.3020 to inquire about the discrepancy. This action was more difficult than I could have ever imagined. I was finally able to speak to someone at the above-mentioned number after the line disconnected three times (my wait time was 15 minutes for the four calls I made to 'Assist Diabetics'). The first person I spoke with informed me that the test strips I submitted were expired which I completely disagreed with because I checked each box for the expiration date in addition to darkening out my name (the test strips are prescribed). I was informed that I would have to prove the test strips were not expired by sending in photographs. After requesting my test strips be returned to me, I was informed that the test strips had been thrown out due to their policy. The representative was especially disrespectful and unprofessional. I informed the initial representative that the call was being recorded; I was immediately transferred to Hannah, the Supervisor. Hannah informed me that the test strips I sent were from the US Government; I informed her that I was a Disabled Veteran and the test strips were prescribed to me and I was unable to return them - hence, why I was utilizing her company's services. I requested the items be returned to me. I was told that a check may be sent to me, but she did not know for how much. I requested 'Assist Diabetics' return my products. I was informed that it was against their policies and I should have read the information I was sent before sending the test strips to their company. Hannah also informed me that the expiration date for the test strips were in 2020. I informed Hannah that I did not believe her because I personally checked each box I sent. In addition, I was not prescribed the ACCU CHEK Guide Test Strips until 2022. In essence, Hannah, the Supervisor, is a falsifier of the truth, a deceiver, a liar. She is also very offensive. After being threatened, disrespected, and mocked, I informed Ms. Hannah that I did not want to argue with her and I wanted my products returned to me within 10 days. I informed Ms. Hannah that I recorded the conversation and if I was not made whole that I would file a suit against 'Assist Diabetics'. I have made a complaint with the BBB. I do intend to file suit against this company if they do not honor their agreement with me. I will be contacting the Consumer Protection Hotline as well as the Office of the Attorney General to file a complaint for unfair/ unlawful business practices. I will be forwarding this horrid experience to every channel/ online forum/ person that may have a slight interest in this company and their awful business practices. I highly discourage anyone from doing business with this company, 'Assist Diabetic' unless you want to be taken advantage of and/or manipulated for a few dollars. This entire experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and one I will never repeat.
