My initial interaction with Appliances of America was very positive. They seemed to be very customer focused and friendly. I ordered a $2,100 cooktop/oven on 8/9/15. They notified me at the time that I should receive an email within couple of weeks confirming shipping info. After several weeks passed with no notificaton - I called them back. They informed me that the merchandise had been delivered to their warehouse, but it had been damaged - so it would be another week or so before they could get a new one in. Again, a few weeks passed with no word from Appliances of America. I called again to get an update and they informed me that due to a religious holiday - there was another delay and I should now expect notification from them on 10/16/15 with shipping information. I called them on 10/16/15 since I still had not heard from them. They assured me that I would have an e-mail from them before the end of the day with shipping info. On 10/19/15 - I had still not received any shipping info - so I was forced to file a dispute witih my bank over merchandise never received.
To summarize, I ordered merchandise on 8/9/15. They charged my credit card for the full purchase amount on 8/10/15. It is now October 19th and I still am no closer to receiving my merchandise than I was 10 weeks ago when I ordered it (and paid for it).

All talk
Waited FIVE WEEKS for a microwave and it arrived damaged. Going on three months now from original date of purchase and I still don't have the appliance. The salesperson that I dealt with is a smooth talker that tells you what you want to hear but that is as far as it goes. I have requested a refund and am going to buy the appliance from a legitimate dealer. I looked up their address on Google streets. It looks like a used appliance store with a different name. Should have gone with my gut. Avoid these guys!

Do not trust this Sham of a company!!!
Update on former review of July 16, 2015. This company is a sham. Like others, I fell for the online reviews. In fact, after I talked to Billy S. Jackson, he kept on saying to write a review of my experience w/him and his helpfulness, and to write several paragraphs--I think they get paid by Trustpilot for writing more than one paragraph--unbelievable!
Anyway, since my review below on July 16, 2015, the following is what has transpired:
I contacted Appliance of America by phone since I read "good reviews" online about the company on July 16, 2015. I purchased a Verona Gas Range for $4349, Verona VEFSGG365NDAW from a Mr. Billy S. Jackson who answered the phone and took my information. I explained that we were remodeling the kitchen, and that we wouldn't need the range till later. He explained to me that they could store it @ a warehouse near us, and just let them know when we would need it--free storage and free delivery. He also sold me on a warranty for 5 years that if we didn't use it for the first 2 years, that he would refund half of the price of the warranty. So I purchased a 5 year warranty for $400. Around end of December, I emailed Billy S. Jackson and said that we would be ready for the delivery of the Verona range. He emailed me back and said to wait till after the holidays, so I emailed him back again on January 25, 2016, inquiring about delivering my range. He emailed me back and said he would check on the supply side and get back to me. I reminded him that he told me previously that he was going to store the range near us. On January 29, 2016, he told me that the company was backed up 2-3 weeks which would be around Feb. 12-19th. Then he said "once we get the products then we would truck them over to your state for the long time delay I can give you for this order white glove service" and for the trouble we were going thru, he was going to offer 3% back on the price of the range and $80 credit on the warranty. I told him that I appreciate all that, but when was the range going to be delivered? I emailed him letting him know that I was expecting the range to be delivered on February 26, giving the trucking company a week to deliver. On February 23, 2016, I was emailed by Billy Jackson stating, "Invoice , I have checked with my warehouse to give me an update knowing that we have a few more days to get this shipped I have also verified all the price is the same VEFSGG365NDAW all the stores are at $4349 so for all the really long delays the company will give you the extra warranty included for no extra charge". I emailed him that I already paid $400 for the 5 year warranty, if he wanted to refund me that amount also. I told him that I would expect the delivery of the range by the following Friday, February 26, 2016, and if not, that I would expect a refund for the total amount of $4,749. On Friday, February 26, I did not receive delivery of my Verona range, nor did I receive an email or a phone call, and as to this day, have not heard from Mr. Billy S. Jackson. I just sent him another email on March 1, 2016, regarding cancelling of the order of the Verona gas range, and explained to him that since he failed on his delivery obligation, that I just wanted a refund. I also explained since I already closed the credit card that was used to purchase the stove, to send me a check for the total amount of $4,749, and that I would be expecting a check from the company within 7 to 10 days.
I contacted my credit card to dispute this and file a chargeback, since the company already received payment for an undelivered merchandise. Thank goodness the credit card company was able to dispute my case, and I was able to receive a credit on my credit card. I have since then contacted Eurochef to put this company on their "Unauthorized Dealers" list for Verona appliances. I also made a report to the State Attorney General's Office., Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Better Business Bureau, and will continue to forewarn the public by social media about this sham of a business. They are nothing but scam artists!
I should have known that if the reviews were all too good about service, but didn't realize that there were hardly any reviews about the deliveries, except a small amount, which I doubt really happened, that there was something "fishy" about this company. Do not fall for the reviews like I did! The positive reviews on other sites like "Yahoo Shopping" are fake and are made from them--notice the same date??? Take your business elsewhere!

Outstanding service from Billy!
From the beginning when I inquired about purchasing a Verona 36" double oven from Appliances of America, Billy was able to answer my numerous questions about one model from the other. After talking to him and ordering one model, I called him back, and he was patient enough for me to change the order to a higher end model. He also mentioned to me about purchasing the warranty for 5 years, saying that Verona offers a warranty for 2 years for $299, but w/Appliances of America, they offer 5 years for $399.99 and if one doesn't use the warranty, then they give you back $200. I figured that was fair.
I also told Billy that we're in the midst of a kitchen remodel so it would be a couple of months before we could have it delivered. He assured me that they could hold it @ a nearby hub from where I lived and just to call them when to deliver @ no charge.
It was a pleasure ordering from someone who knew about the product, and give you that "type of service" back in the day when people cared and listened! Billy deserves 5 stars and more for his service & helpfullness!!!! Thank you, Billy!!!

Never shipped item, had to contact them and they said they lost my order
I ordered from Appliances of America on 6/7/2015. My order went through and I received the invoice. The order status was not updated for a week so I sent them an email, and then got an email back to say they needed to talk with me. Weird.
So I called them, and then was told that they lost my order and needed to cancel the order and re-order it because they didn't have my order or what I purchased (which again is weird because I had an email and my order showed up in my order history).
Not worth the hassle to deal with this merchant. If they had lost my order, they should have contacted me, not the other way around. Go with someone else.

We apologize for the experience you have had. It looks like there was a miscommunication. The order came through our system without any contact information whatsoever. This prevented our company from reaching you. Once you called in, we took down your phone number and tried calling you multiple times but have been unable to reach you. Please contact us at 888-768-3884 so we can compensate you accordingly. We here at Appliances of America want everyone to have a stellar experience. EDITED - Billy was incredibly helpful, awesome prices, then unresponsive
**EDIT**
We bought a range and oven/microwave combo last summer from Appliances of America, really great experience and pricing. Bought a refrigerator in early September as well, my credit card charged early October which was odd, it's now Nov 30 and still have not received it. Couldn't get Billy or anyone to answer the phone or respond until I emailed him directly mid Nov, notifying him I planned on disputing the charge because I never received my refrigerator. Got a call that day from him assuring our unit would arrive within 2 weeks, still have not received it after that 2 week promise with initial purchase 11 weeks ago. Just got a call saying my appliance will arrive Dec 11?!? Too bad, no way I'm waiting any longer. On what planet is it ok for a customer to make a purchase and have to wait 13 weeks to receive it? What was a 5* experience is now a 1* experience because I feel scammed and frustrated during the holidays.
ORIGINAL POST: My wife found Appliances of America while doing some comparison shopping for a range and a separate oven+microwave combo. The price for these 2 appliances is the largest single transaction I've ever done with the exception of a home or automobile, so I had some serious reservations on buying online. If I'm going to spend this kind of money, I want a store I can walk in to and handle business face to face. So I called sales and got connected with Billy - I told him I was going to buy some expensive appliances and if I had buyer's remorse the next day I was giving him heads up I may cancel. His response, "the best way to combat that is for you to never have it, so what can I do to help?" Not a sales pitch, not sleezy or slick, just honest and helping me feel comfortable that spending this much money with them would be like buying some shoes online. No big deal, it's just moving the decimal place to the right a couple of times... But in the end I was more than satisfied, I was comfortable. The prices were better than the local store by about $1,000 too and the shipping was free, he even threw in an old promotion that will help me buy my wife dinner. Which is good because she's got a lot of dinners to cook to work off this purchase! And he was able to get the warranty coverage extended to 2 years from 1 year from the manufacturer, which being a couple of states away was also a great relief. My advice: do your homework, compare, shop, and look seriously at Appliances of America. Great selection, prices, and staff to help a cautious buyer feel comfortable making a huge decision.
