I read good reviews about this company online so I figured my experience would be similar. It was not. I ordered a ice maker and beverage fridge in early June. Got a call in Aug saying that the units were discontinued and that the suggested replacements were $350 more and that the beverage fridge should ship with the week. I say fine, I just want some appliances. 3 weeks go by and nothing. I am not holding the discontinued appliance thing against AOA but it is unacceptable to be told that the appliances are shipping and then nothing happens for weeks. 9/11 I ask for my order to be canceled. 9/16 my order is canceled and I was told that my CC should be refunded in 10 business days. 3 weeks go by and no refund has been processed. 10/7 I finally get a call from the sales representative and they said it is going to be another 15 business days before I get my refund. So now if I am lucky, I might get a refund 6 weeks after I asked for my order to be canceled. That is unacceptable customer service in my opinion. I have a hard time believing anything this company says at this point since not one thing has been done to prove me wrong. I can't even talk to someone who would be processing my refund as my call gets screened by the sales representative and they blame the Jewish holidays and that they are in transition. Very very disappointed in my yet to be complete experience with AOA, I do not recommend using this company. Finally just called my credit card company to dispute the charge.

Run far away and do not use this Company
I placed my order nearly 10 weeks ago. A few days after placing my order, I received a call from "Mr. Sales" confirming many of the details of my order. Mr. Sales was very charming and confirmed that my order would be delivered within 15 to 20 days. My credit card was immediately charged over $5,000 for my order.
Around August 20, I hadn't heard any updates, and my order still showed as "processing," so I decided email the company for an update. I received no response....so August 26, I emailed again....still no response. So, September 1 I emailed again, and also called the company. I spoke to "Ms. Customer Service" who was also very pleasant to talk to (and she mentioned receiving my emails and said they had already been forwarded to Mr. Sales), but again, could not provide an update. She said she would contact the "shipping" department and have them call me with an update within 24 hours. Despite several emails and calls, I did not receive any true update from the company, but there were a lot of excuses: jewish holidays, new order processing company, growth of the company, trucking company delays, factory delays, etc. etc.
Finally, September 16 (yes, 2 weeks after my appliances were already supposed to be delivered), I was able to have a discussion with Mr. Sales again. Another round of excuses, and he promised my appliances would be on a truck to Colorado on October 1. He also agreed to various price concessions and refunds to compensate me for my delays. He promised his "accounting department" would cut a refund check to me very soon for the price concessions and refunds.
October 1 came and went...no update, no refund check, no email, nada. I called Mr. Sales again on October 6. Mr. Sales provided me with another round of excuses (some the same; jewish holidays, processing company, growth of the company). By this point, I was very suspicious of whether they are a real legitimate business. After identifying several recent negative (and disputed) TrustPilot reviews and inquiring of the NJ BBB (please check them out - there's an alert), I decided to confront Mr. Sales to understand if Appliances of America is a real business. I asked Mr. Sales about multiple of my suspicions (many I cannot mention here as TrustPilot has informed me they are a violation of their policies), but to name a few: they do not have an office at the company address on their website, no other extensions work in their phone system other than Ms. Customer Service and Mr. Sales, donation buttons on their website do not go anywhere, etc.
Mr. Sales was confrontational and recommended that I write the company's lawyers a letter and dispute the charge with American Express. This is not how I expect legitimate Company's to handle these types of inquiries or matters. I told Mr. Sales I just wanted my appliances, and was not interested in a legal battle.
Of most concern to me, Mr. Sales refused to put me in touch with his supervisor, the company owner, or even name one other employee of the company. Odd, since they apparently have a "processing department," "shipping department," and "accounting department." Mr. Sales told me that I would not be able to talk to the Owner, but maybe one of his "representatives" may be able to contact me.
My recommendation, steer clear....and if you've already ordered, cancel your order and immediately dispute the charge. Thinking about ordering? Do some online research first. I suspect that the delays in processing orders are simply to push the credit card payments past the dispute period - so you are out of your money and will not get your appliances.

Avoid this place at all costs and buy local
Do yourself a favor and read some of the other reviews - long story short, this company appears to be a scam. After ordering a $1900 refrigerator, I was told it would take 4 weeks to arrive and that I'd get tracking info on the 3rd week. After no communication from them by the 4th week, I called and they said it would take another 4 weeks. When asked what the reason for the delay was, they said demand (?) and quickly tried to change the subject and offer a warranty or installation. The fact is, they could not offer a guaranteed ship date, so after more lack of communication from them I cancelled my order and opened a fraud claim with my bank.
Additionally, their representative asked me for a favorable review (after placing my initial order) before I had even received anything in exchange for a small discount, which I never got! The email in which this request was made was incoherent, sensationalized, and borderline comical - this should've given me an indication of the caliber of company I was dealing with. What a Joke.
As another reviewer posted, shortly after placing my initial order, I received a suspicious charge from china and had to cancel my card - I find this to be an odd coincidence.

Wasted two months with this company with no delivery or refund made, buyers beware!
I've been extremely patient with the folks at Appliances of America, and I'm not the type who complain easily, but this place is beyond ridiculous. This has got to be the single worst online purchase experience I've ever encountered. You've been warned.
I'll let the audit trail speak for itself...
7/23 - order placed for a Viking range hood
8/4 - No status update, contacted customer service and was informed that purchase is a special order and will take 4-6 weeks. Attempted to cancel order.
8/5 - Customer service said they will look into speeding up the process and let me know by 8/7
8/7 - No phone call and could not get through to customer service by phone or email
8/10 - "it looks like we will be able to get the unit to you much sooner than the original time frame"
8/21 - numerous unanswered emails and phone calls later, "we are planning on delivering your order this upcoming week"
8/27 - No sign of delivery. Called Billy directly and he promised I would get a call back by noon next day.
8/28 - No call back. Called Billy and he promised to call me back "right away". 4 hours later, "we will give you a call before noon next Monday"
8/31 - No call back. Called customer service and Billy again, Billy promised to email me with a status update.
9/1 - Received email "The delivery is set up for this week they will call you 12 hours before they deliver"
9/3 - No sign of delivery confirmation or tracking info. More excuses and empty promises were made over the phone.
9/10 - Finally agreed to cancel my order and issue full refund by 9/28
9/29 - Refund is nowhere to be found. When contacted I was informed they are observing Jewish holiday.

Don't fall into this trap!!!!
I do a lot of ordering online, so trust me when I say that it is saying A LOT when I say worst EVER! I ordered my appliances on August 4th, knowing that it would give me at least 3 weeks to receive my appliances before my kitchen renovations were to start. I inquired about the status of my order via email after 2 weeks passed, and it didn't show as shipped. They then informed me that it won't ship for about 4 weeks (nowhere in the website does it state this). I was NOT happy, but decided to just roll with it. The funds ($2,600) were withdrawn from my account within 7 days of ordering. It is now September 16th, and my appliances STILL have not shipped! I have a fully renovated kitchen that I have been unable to use for 3 weeks! I have called multiple times and emailed, with not one response! This company is located in the east coast, and I on the west, so I can't call during their hours of operation (which are shorter for customer service of course) due to my work hours. I'm am disgusted with what is happening here! I have three small children at home, and no functioning kitchen thanks to this hack of a company!
Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs!
***UPDATE***
I was finally able to get someone from customer service on the phone by calling sales... I spoke with someone who gave me some schpeel about how something was water damaged, and that's why the order hadn't shipped. He stated that they had to reorder that item, and that it would take until October 16th to get. Mind you, I had already been waiting since August 4th. If that were the case, then why wasn't I notified sooner so that I had the option to cancel or decide to wait?!
Anyway, I cancelled my order on September 21st, and the man said that it would take approximately 9 days to get my refund. I didn't get the confirmation email, so I emailed him the next day. In the subsequent response, he stated that it would take 2 weeks to process the credit. It's 10/21 and I STILL have not received the credit to my account. I have emailed and called and have received no response. I tried to file a dispute with my bank, but I have passed the 60 day timeline in which you can file, because I was trying to be patient and give them time to do their JOBS! I am going to do everything in my power to get my money back, no matter how long it takes; I will begin calling every day, I will post in every review site, I will file a dispute with the Better Business Bureau. I am appalled that this company is allowed to continue to operate! Look up the address they list, it comes back to another company. Looks like it's time to start giving them a call as well!
December 4th, and still nothing!

Worst Experience Shopping Anywhere Ever
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. The worst, most unprofessional experience I had ever had with any company at any point in my life.
Ordered online. Charged Immediately. No communication for days after. Told it'd be 3 weeks. At 3 weeks, told it'd be another week. At one week, told it'd be in two days. Nothing happened. Called on Monday, only to be met by a contentious owner who said he would have to fire his customer service representative for telling me the wrong thing. Offered me a 2-year warranty (told him I just want my washer and dryer), and said he'd have it out by Wednesday and would call me. No call on Wednesday. No Call on Thursday. Called on Friday, voicemail multiple times, no response to emails. CS said Owner would call me, still waiting on that call.
Throughout the process, they actively asked for positive reviews (before even receiving ANYTHING!). Hence all the reviews you see here. Don't be led astray. Completely mismanaged and now in pursuit of my money back from their company.

Still awaiting a refund for $2300 worth of appliances I never received
I ordered a number of new appliances from this company over two months ago. After repeated calls to the company that went unanswered, I posted a negative review to this site, whereupon company representatives assured me that my appliances would arrive "in another week" - and asked me as a gesture of good faith to take down my negative review and replace it with a positive one. Eager to get my appliances, and impressed by the eloquence and apparent helpfulness of the company owner, who promised to solve the problem personally, I complied. Several more weeks passed, though, and still no appliances were delivered - in fact, two specific delivery dates in the space of two weeks were canceled the night beforehand by the aforementioned owner of the company - so I requested a refund, which he agreed to give me, and bought the appliances from another company (which delivered them the next day). That was now two weeks ago, and I have not received the refund, either - just promises of a 5-year warranty on my appliances purchased elsewhere, and explanations that the Jewish New Year, which has now long since passed, is still responsible for the delay in processing my refund (of which my credit card company has received no notice from Appliances of America, not even a premilinary indication that a refund should be in the works) . So here I am, still out $2300, and my lawyer brother is recommending legal action, to which I would prefer not to have to resort. I hope this review (1) saves other customers this kind of needless unpleasantness, and (2) reminds Appliances of America that I am impatiently awaiting my $2300, which I would infinitely prefer to a 5-year dishwasher warranty.

Don't Do it! Thier all talk no action
UPDATE: 2/2016:
The review below is incorrect, they had me fouled. They do not stand by their commitments, Billy will tell you what ever it takes to get you hooked in. Once they get your money be ready wait, to wait for a LONG time for any form of service.... STAY AWAY... I ended up filing a claim with my bank to retrieve my money...
I had the pleasure of working with both Sean and Billy and oh boy, talk about MILITARY APPREATION, these two gentlemen took it to the next level. Not only where their prices lower than the sale prices of online or in store competitors, but they also offered me an additional “Military/Appreciation Discount” on top of that. The skill set of professionalism and strive for customer satisfaction has definitely open my eyes as to what some of these other big named companies are missing, the mission to take the time to meet the needs of the customer by reinforcing the acknowledgement that the customer comes first. Sean and Billy I would like to personally SALUTE YOU and reassure you, that you have found yourself a new life time costumer for the years to come! Thanks again for the GREAT service…..
