Ripoff and a Scam with terrible customer service
This is a $368 watch. For reference, the cheapest Apple watch costs $250. The regular Apple watch is about the same price as the Apollo watch. Let's compare features The Apollo watch contains: Tiny battery Bluetooth Vibrating motor That's it. Think about how much more technology is inside an Apple Watch. An Apple Watch's haptic motor could create the same vibration as the Apollo watch does, in fact the Apollo app itself has a way to use your iphone's haptic motor to give you the same benefit as the Apollo watch. It's just not convenient because it's not on your wrist. But an Apple Watch is. BATTERY Even then, the battery in the Apple Watch is infinitely better and lasts longer. Heck, the battery in the airpods lasts longer sitting without use. The Apollo watch's battery is dead if you leave it sitting for 3 days. My airpod pro 3's lose maybe 5% battery life in that time. There are 3 pieices of technology in this watch, it would not be an engineering feat to put an at least decent battery in it. Apollo is just being cheap. And there is absolutely nothing special about the vibrating motor or the bluetooth. Like I said, the Apple Watch could vibrate on your wrist just as well. And this is just vibration. $5 dildos can vibrate. It's not advanced tech. BUILD QUALITY The Apollo watch is also made of really cheap plastic, which I don't mind myself, but it adds to the ridicouls pricing of this device. The Apple watch is made of aluminum, etc - premium materials and is significantly cheaper. APP Then there is the app. Which is trying so hard to force you, after paying $368 for the watch itself, to pay $100 per year (!!) to access all the "vibes". They put all the subscription vibes in your face and make it hard to even find the ones that come with the watch. Even if you favorite them, it's not easy to get to the favorites section to get away from their subscription advertising. This is just unbelievable greed and shameless money grabbing. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Then there is the customer service. This watch says it has a 30 day no questions return guarantee, but when I got one of these for my girlfriend and realized how useless it is when I used mine and wanted to return it unopened in the original box, they would not respond to my emails asking for a return. I had to go through paypal to get a refund for the watch. It was so obvious to PayPal after seeing Apollo's advertised return policy and all my ignored emails to them that I was due a refund, they refunded me the next day. And only then, when paypal refunded me and contacted Apollo themselves, did they ask for the watch back. Of course, it seems all Apollo cared about was getting their watch back after they were forced to refund me, not actually honoring the return polichy plastered all over their website. FALSE HEALTH CLAIMS Lastly, this is very basic technology. The idea of "vibes" is completeliy made up. I have talked to researchers and doctors about this watch (I am a patient with a chronic illness and have acess to world leading researchers and doctors and health professionals). You could literally get the same benefit from just holding a $5 dildo against your wrist. It's just vibration that soothes the sympathetic nervous system and helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Nothing more. Just vibration. You don't get "social" with certain vibration patterns or "dinner party" vibes from other vibration patterns. There's no difference between "calm", "recover" and "meditation" vibes. It's a complete lie and a scam. A marketing team made this watch, not researchers or doctors or healthcare professionals. DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH There is no logical reason to buy this watch. Buy an Apple Watch instead, and just get an app that makes it vibrate. You'll get the same health benefits plus way more health tracking that will likely also benefit you, and a million more features, in a much more premium design with premium materials with a better battery that doesn't go dead in 3 days without use. And a company that will stand behind the product. Or just get a $5 vibrating toy and leave it on your chest. That would give you the same benefit. This watch is worth $25 if you look at what it is and other similar products with similar parts and construction. I would consider $50 maybe acceptable given the small nature of the company. But $368 is insulting. Not to mention the $100/yr subscription. UNETHICAL COMPANY YOU SHOULD NOT SUPPORT This company is unethical and should not be supported. They're targetting desperate, sick and unwell people with false promises, fake research, and lies. With a simple, cheap product that is grossly overpriced and then almost impossible to use without paying more for a very expensive subscription. One of the worst purchases I have ever made.
