Per the terms and conditions of the contract, the warranty is in place to assist with the cost of repairing or replacing specific items that fail from normal wear and tear; not all items are covered and may not be covered 100%. In addition, the warranty states that systems beyond industry standard life expectancy are at the sole discretion of the company. I am pleased that after review of your claim that we were able to approve additional funds for the replacement of the boiler. Hello Tiru, Thank you for telling us about your experience; I can understand your frustration with the claim determination. Upon investigation of the HVAC claim, I see that the failed part is still under manufacturer’s warranty. Therefore, the new part would be provided by Armstrong and we are unable to assist with this claim. The warranty states that APHW is not responsible for any costs due to repair, replacement, installation and labor of any covered system or part while under existing manufacturer’s warranty or third-party service plan/agreement. Hello Joseph, Thank you for reviewing your experience. The warranty is in place to assist with specific items that fail from normal wear and tear; not all items are covered. Upon review of your claim, I see that following our 3-step process could have prevented some of these issues. Step 2 of our process requires the homeowner to call us with the contractor at your home, which allows us to do two things: 1) Verify the contractor's status as a professional either in our system or through a W9, and 2) To obtain your contractor's professional opinion on what has failed and what caused that failure in order to determine coverage. Upon notification that the control board had failed, we would have advised you that it was not a covered item as listed under your current contract, allowing you to make a more informed decision on how to move forward. We do offer extensive coverage for items throughout the home and attached garage for further value and satisfaction to homeowners. Please see response also submitted to your review on the BBB in May. Hello Julene, Thank you for telling us about your experience; I can understand your frustration with the claim determination. The warranty is in place to assist with the cost of repairing or replacing specific items that fail during the contract coverage period, from normal wear and tear. According to the conversation we had when opening the claim, the unit had not worked since moving into the home and we were unable to verify the unit was operational before moving into the home via home inspection, therefore we were unable to assist with this claim. Upon review of the claim, I see that when we had spoken with you about the appraisal, we informed you that we would check to see if the documentation provided would be sufficient and that we would call back with more information. When we called back with more information we were sent directly to voicemail and had left a message to call us back at the earliest convenience. However, we did not hear back for several months. Hello August, Thank you for taking the time to submit your review; I can understand your frustration with the claim determination. This contract provides protection against the breakdown of specific items due to normal wear and tear. It doesn't cover everything, and per the terms and conditions of the contract, if it is not listed as a covered item, then it is not covered. Upon review of the claim I see the contractor advised there was an active roof leak caused by a failed pipe boot and collar. Pipe boots are not listed as a covered item, therefore we are unable to assist with this claim.
