I am not sure where all of these 5star reviews are coming from. I have had to deal with AON three times for clients. all three experiences have been awful at best. I have to resubmit claim forms and documents several times before they finally say they have received them. (i also have proof to show when they docs were sent, and a reply from AON. they still deny ever receiving them). This time, a flight was canceled and the parties missed part of their vacation. I have sent the airline documentation, hotel documentation, etc. AON says they don't have a claim form. How is that possible? I called to speak to a supervisor, then I am told it will be two business days for a response. I am still waiting (going on two months for the claim to be approved) Their process is not smooth like Allianz.

It’s been over a year ago that I went…
It’s been over a year ago that I went on a carnival cruise line with insurance through Aon to protect my cruise. I got ill from going into a nasty pool. I ended up with pneumonia and left the cruise line with a $2008 promissory note for the medical attention received. I went directly to my local emergency room and still have a bill totaling approximately $5000. Ended up going to two additional hospitals before I was better. As of this date, Aon has paid me the $2008 for Carnival, and approx $300 for another bill but I’ve yet to get payment on the $5000 hospital emergency room bill I received upon my return. I stated to them in my initial claim application that I not only wanted my medical bills taken care of, but I want my cruise reimbursed so now I can enjoy a seven day cruise as I paid for previously. To date, there has been no reference to those requests. Instead, I receive canned responses requesting copies of EOBs that I have already submitted. Aon is evidently available to benefit and protect the cruise lines. I will never use them again. After cruising with Carnival since 1994 and never having a claim, this feels like a SCAM!!!

Do not use!!!
Update* still no help! They “reviewed” our case and because this death of a family member happened way out of our control they still will not refund. They are just a large company with all the money screwing the little person, heartbreaking. We got robbed blind.
No money, no trip, dead family member, no dream for my kids, all because of one word in the contract with something I never thought would have happen. Life ruined because they literally dont care.
I still stand by ….. Do not use!!!
no one will help us with and we have been begging for help without getting our lawyer involved.
In May my brother passed away very unexpectedly, he was in his 30’s and a wonderful firefighter. (I have letters of character and honor to prove this, sent in).
In June we were supposed to go to our long saved trip to Italy. We saved for years and we had to cancel to do the funeral and be there for family. He died 3 days before we were supposed to leave , we got told by your company it was okay and to just send the death certificate, this in turn took a while but accidental This was not a pre existing condition.
We were devastated and needed to be there for our family, now to be devastated we lost all of our money in the process. It’s all very depressing.
We sent in all the documents we have and keep getting denied, we got told to appeal and in 10 hours they denied us again and refuse to call us. Ive waited on the phone for hours demanding answers and getting promises that someone will call. Since there is never anyone available to help.
Last night we spoke to a supervisor, Christine and she promised we would have a call by today. Nope! We didn’t! Every time we talk to someone we get told something different and get told lies and then they catch them selves and say sorry! We have been nothing but helpful for months trying to get all of our documents over, to just get turned down.
Your reviews are terrible on this exact thing and it’s heartbreaking. Y’all are a major company and have zero compassion and will not even give us the time Of day. What was the point of this insurance we paid for???? Basically I should have not been here for the family and the funeral and went, having no heart. We didn’t know at all that this would have happened in a million years to him, this is not our fault
How is this right?????
If I booked everything separately and not through y’all I would be at-least be getting vouchers. We need help!!!! I cant let this go, I cant let all my money go. My lawyer said to see where we can get first and then proceed, Ive also contacted the BBB and our travel agency as they are in shock also.
We need help and answers.
Please!!!

Aon Affinity Insurance is a SCAM!
I purchased an Aon Affinity Insurance Services policy on a hotel stay I booked through Expedia. My mom and I were staying in a hotel so we were close to my mom's sister who was dying. Unfortunately she passed before we made it to say goodbye and we needed to cancel the hotel stay. I submitted the claim, listing the reason as a "death in the family". I was told that I needed to submit a death certificate in order to process the claim. We filled out the forms, paid the fees and finally received a death certificate in the mail. I then submitted the certificate to Aon Affinity Insurance Services. They replied back that they needed Cause of Death listed on the certificate. I asked why they would need that information and their response was "your policy has stipulations to as what types of death are covered, like pre-existing conditions or death involving felonies....."
My aunt died of cancer, that she fought for 2 years. That's definitely pre-existing. So basically they will only cover "death" as an excuse if it's an accident of some type.
All of this run-around for a $500 hotel stay. I will never purchase Aon Affinity Insurance Services again.

Our condolences for your loss. We are sorry to hear about the situation and if the policy did not provide the coverage needed in your case.

Misleading practices and bad faith handling
I purchased Disney travel insurance through Aon Affinity/Arch Insurance for an October 2024 trip. A mandatory hurricane evacuation forced us to leave two days early, resulting in $690 in non-refundable hotel costs.
After a lengthy claims process, Aon closed my first claim even though I had provided receipts and a letter from the rental company confirming the loss. I had to start the entire process again with a new claim number.
What’s worse is that Aon gave me one reason for denial (saying my accommodations weren’t booked directly with Disney, which is not excluded in the policy) but told the NC Department of Insurance a different reason (claiming I had already been fully reimbursed, which is not true).
This company has wasted my time with repeated document requests, shifting explanations, and misleading regulators. Based on my experience, they do not handle claims in good faith and I would strongly caution others against purchasing travel insurance from Aon Affinity.

Unfortunately, there may be some misunderstandings based on the above description of situation. We will reach out to you directly to hopefully help understand the coverage purchased from the plan that we manage and how it would not apply to trips purchased through other travel suppliers who we do not work with.

The most useless travel insurance
The most useless travel insurance. Beware. We had to cancel our cruise for medical reasons, and AON refuses to refund us $1,009. This company will cheat you. It is worthless, unethical, and very unprofessional. DO NOT USE THIEM. This is a very unethical and unprofessional company.

We are very sorry to hear that the plan has not met your expectations.

waste of money do not cover travel
I booked our Alaskan cruise 8 months in advance, did all the planning, bought $100 binoculars to see whales, bought travel insurance for everything and was advised by cheap cruises to book our own airline tickets because tickets could vary in travel times up to over 24 hours duration. I booked the tickets with Alaska Airlines departing Minneapolis MN to Seattle. We arrived early for our flight in Minneapolis. Alaskan Air canceled our flight due to their failure to maintain their aircraft. We therefore missed the sailing of the ship. This was all no fault of our own and find out the AOL Infinnity Travel Insurance we thought would cover us was not going to cover this. We are out over $3,000 and no one is offering us anything, credit wise or nothing.

Robyn, we will request information from you and work with you directly to see if anything else can be done.

I would love to give a zero
I would love to give a zero a year ago. We booked a cruise on Royal Caribbean and Royal Caribbean sold us Aon travel insurance. My mother became sick and could not go. We had to cancel. We felt like we were OK because we had travel insurance with Aon. How stupid are we?
We have signed all the documents. We have uploaded everything we have signed everything more than once we have uploaded more than once. Finally, I uploaded my mother‘s death certificate. What more proof did they need that she wasn’t well enough to go? Still waiting for a call from Aon
