Overall, we were very pleased with the quality and the design of the gazebo. Designing and ordering it went very smoothly, and they were very helpful. Delivery was a breeze. Where there was a gap: the general installation instructions provided (for a pre-fabricated, octagonal 14' gazebo as we ordered) were NOT clear, and were different than the instructions we got when we called in. (The manual says "push the roof panels in from the outside"; whereas (for eight heavy roof panels) the Amish Country Gazebos staff said to install them from the INSIDE of the gazebo. Your manual needs work. BUT - we LOVE the finished product! All our neighbors are impressed!

Our 16' gazebo is beautiful. The quality of the materials and woodworking is excellent. All sections fit together like a tight glove. However, this is not a kit the average person is capable of building. The instructions are useful, but assume a certain expertise level in general construction techniques. Furthermore, any kit larger than ~10' will require multiple workers to safely hoist the roof sections due to their size and weight. Because our gazebo houses a hot tub/spa, a 17' octagonal concrete pad was poured (6" border). The level surface and 2 x 6 deck kept the posts in perfect alignment. But the screen kit needed to be trimmed to fit and the windows in the door/side lights are not easily removable. Finally, the roofing nails noticeably protrude through the ceiling boards. Despite these minor complaints, the final product was constructed in 2 days and completely meets our expectations. Amish Country Gazebos was a pleasure to work with, including the initial contact/discussion, specification/option, and final shipping/delivery phases. Out-of-state transportation was on-time and I was able to coordinate with local delivery of the spa, which had to be placed before setting all the posts.

The gazebo was well constructed and things fit together as they were supposed to. Instructions, for the most part, were clear and concise. One negative was the roof. The roof was made of 1/2 inch plywood but the shingle nails we were given with the kit were 3/4 inches. As we were putting on shingles we discovered that EVERY ONE of them popped through the roofing. The finished product looking up from inside the gazebo frankly looks awful. I wish we had caught it earlier; we might have been able to get 1/2 inch nails.

The structure is beautiful! I am disappointed in the construction of the posts. They are laminated cedar posts that failed with in two weeks of installation. The glue did not hold at the laminated seams. I was reimbursed for the cost of the new solid cedar posts and their contractor installed them. My painter stained them. The main frustration was that while we figured out what to do and scheduling the installation it held up the completion of my job. If you purchase a structure be sure the posts are solid wood.

We ordered a 12x12 gazebo with the screen option. Packaging was excellent. It took me the better part of a day to take it apart and stage it. All the pieces seemed to be in good shape. The one thing I noticed immediately was that there was no way my wife and I would be able to do this alone. We did get help and four people were able to install it in less than one day. The only problem we encountered was the hardware for mounting the screen door was missing. The factory shipped it and we installed it. The only thing missing then were the instructions for installing it, but we managed. Great looking product.

We misinterpted the instructions for a concrete pad so the template was slightly over the edge of the pad. These instructions and especially the size of the pad could be clearer. Everything else went fine until the roof instlation. We did not screw the panels together as instructed but clamped them since they were not lining up to our mark on the posts. We did screw them to the facia however as instructed. We also used 4 braces to stablize the panels. The good news is that when we dropped the last panel in with the help of a rubber malet all panels shifted and lined up to our marks. We then screwed all panels together and removed the braces. Total instlation time was about 15 hours with 3 people.

I bought this 18' gazebo with pergola roof. What I liked about it 1. Beautiful Gazebo once completed 2. Delivery and service is good 3. Packaging is very well done improvement needed: 1. Instructions can be bit more verbose, ideally if you can put a video clip on youtube which shows how to handle some alignments on panel would help. 2. bigger gazebo has more challenges, need min 3 people of 18' and panels are really heavy 3. For bigger gazebo, provided post support to concrete is not sufficient, you need stronger metal plates to support it. 5. 5x5 posts, there are no U type plates available in HW stores so have to use L shape brackets.

The kit arrived and everything went like clockwork until the roof sheathing. The board roof was packaged well for protection and compact shopping but that made it time consuming to sort the boards for installation. Not awful, but after the ease and precision of the rest of the components it was frustrating. The real problem was that the boards were planed down to a bit under 3/4"and the roofing nails came through in spots. We ended up adding a layer of 7/16" osb on top to prevent nails showing in the finished ceiling. This added considerably to the install time and cost. Overall fit and finish was excellent, this issue could be avoided with a thicker ceiling/sheathing material.
