Guess title says it all. I have some experience with assembly, wall building, construction, plumbing, etc. No professional by all means. You do need to take a some what experienced non pro and have them try to assemble exactly by instructions. Many instructions are not well described or are incomplete. An example is the roof. Shingling instructions are incomplete The joists had an awful time fitting into the slots. It speeks of 2 inch tan screws that were not in the kit nor listed as a part. I will say, with a little of the roofleft to go, I really do like it. It looks great. Just a lot more than 6 hours for 2 people.

Right from the get go my experience was very good. I have been looking into a gazebo or pergola for 2 years. When I finally made up my mind I went with the pergola. The salesman explained all the details and sent out a diagram so I knew where the posts would land on the new deck. My concern was high winds damaging the pergola, but with the diagram I was able to reinforce the underside of the deck area. After all that I also explained to the salesman that I would need the pergola brought up my lawn / driveway to a gate near where the pergola would be built. My parking area is about 85 feet from the house. He assured me that the delivery truck would have a forklift that would easily come up the lawn. I had just had my decking delivered and they were able to drop the load off right at the gate. My deck is 20 by 20, so I knew if they could do it then the pergola wouldn't be a problem. All was set to be delivered around the 15th of Sept. About Sept 1st I received a call about the delivery being moved up to Sept 3rd because the truck would be up this way. That was fine because my crew wouldn't be available until the weekend. Larry Martin called early the next day and advised he could drop it off late that afternoon. Again not a problem. When he arrived, the pergola was on a flatbed and he wanted to drop it off curbside. I told him that wasn't the deal because I couldn't get the pergola up the lawn. He said he didn't know anything about a fork lift, but he would try to back the flatbed up as far as he could. He did just that and dropped the load about 20 feet from the gate area. Problem was his flatbed dug up the lawn and his duely wheels dug holes trying to force the flatbed. I didn't need the extra work of filling holes with sod and re-seeding. Overall the pergola went together as advertised and looks beautiful. If the rating system was 1 thru 10, then it would be a 9. My only suggestion would be to write on the delivery slip any changes to a normal delivery. I think up a dirt/lawn driveway by forklift would not be normal. Thank you, Bill Rochefort

Screen option was a poor choice ,ill fitting and bad design.no protection for screen inside, just a short time before someone slides something into it.by by screen!

People wise communication was good. The manual needs more clarification in roofing processes - nailing patterns, more detail on tab shingle angle cuts as they relate to sub roof angle cut ( should they overlap or only butt up to each other ) The roofing nails in the box were too long for the ply score sub roof. Also, the fit between the large and medium size panels were poor on two units. Note: two of the large sub roof panels sagged. Wood selection (quality) was not very good on the doorway pillars. The parts are not interchangeable so I had to gingerbread-them-up to cover the indented edge-knots. Pilot drilling can not be over emphasized!! All told, we're proud of what we did with your materials and instructions. THANKS !

My biggest complaint (even though I really thought the process and construction went very well) was the delivery. First I had received a call from the trucking dispatcher asking if they could deliver by 5:00 pm on a Sunday. I had to change some plans but was all set. No show and no call stating they were not coming. Monday morning I receive a call and the dispatcher apologized and ask for a later date, Thursday. I said that would be fine and asked if the trucking company had a way to off load the gazebo kit. She stated yes and if they needed help the driver would call a local wrecker service, at their cost, if necessary. She then asked me about access. I told her when we moved here that the full size moving van (simi-truck and trailer) were able to drive and unload. She said there would be no problem then. On Thursday I got a call from the driver and he told me he could not make it down my road because his truck was too long. I asked him about the wrecker and he told me I would have to make those arrangements and it would be on my dime. I am fortunate enough to own a single axle trailer that I pulled to the parked delivery truck and the driver and I proceeded to unload the crate piece by piece onto my trailer and then unload my trailer at my site. The gazebo kit took two trips and the driver would not help me for the second off load. This was not at all what I expected, so there is my big complaint. The rest went well except when I reviewed the contents of the delivery ticket it stated there would be 7 bundles of shingles and there were only 6. I immediately called your offices and the person I spoke with told me all I really needed was 4 bundles. This made me skeptical so I told him that once I got to the roof and if I ran short of shingles that ya'll would have to overnight me any that were missing. The 6 bundles of shingles worked out fine. For improvements I would suggest that you include h-clips for the roof sheeting. The span between joists is large enough to need these. all in all I am happy with the gazebo but you need to look into the delivery.

Stan, I'm sorry you couldn't locate the weathervane that was originally delivered to you in July via UPS. We appreciate your patience in this matter. We have ordered another new weathervane to be delivered to you within the next few days.
