I would rather burn all my furniture for heat than ever use Amerigas again. They are non-responsive, incompetent, irresponsible, and simply awful to do business with. You would think that any service company faced with tens of thousands of consumer complaints would care - - just a little bit - - to take some corrective actions. Not these guys. If you have ANY option aside from Amerigas, take it.

One of the WORST DISHONEST COMPANIES I have ever had to deal with! First off they raised the price to over $4 per gallon, when our local gas station sells it for under $2.50! I called to speak to an agent who after an hour on the phone said they would knock off $20!! So of course I canceled my service. Then I was charged almost $80 for them to pick up their own tank! Amerigas has the worst customer service that takes 20 mins or more just to talk to an agent, the agent will refer to their on line agreement that states the almost $79 fee! When I asked her to produce the agreement that I signed, she hesitated and finally looked it up and there is stated a pick up charge of $39! Amerigas was deliberately lying to me to get more money out of me! Then because I didnt pay their dishonest $79 fee, I was charged a late fee of $39.99 on top of that!! When I complained to BBB that told me that due to the sheer volume of complaints agains Amerigas they only will post 10% of them!! AMERIGAS IS WORTHLESS COMPANY.....BEWARE!!

Amerigas customer service 101: whether the customer contacts you by phone, email, or the chat feature on the website, give them the good old "I'm leaving a note with the technician and will make sure that you are a priority!" line. I have been a customer for a few years now, and since they closed all but one "local " office I have noticed that they love to put off your request for refill until a day or two after your tank runs completely out. Then you get hit with the leak test bonus fee. That's if you are lucky. God help you if you are a 7am to 5pm ham and egger. They will lock your tank out and there it will sit, all useless and full of gas like the customer service representatives that I've been calling for a month straight. And as I wrote earlier, you learn when they want to end the call when they say "Oh my, I don't know how this happened. I'm going to leave a note with the technician and make you a priority!" Yeah honey, I'm sure you will...

1 star is too much. I used to love calling our local distributor. It was a simpler time... now, they're all closed and you have to use a call center. I ordered 100 gals, which is the minimum. She asked if I would like to fill the tank so they can put me on autofill (starting with a full tank is a requirement). I said no, we don't use it that much and I can't afford more than the minimum right now. She confirmed the order for 100 gals. A MONTH LATER, my propane was delivered- no yellow delivery ticket was left like they usually do. A week after that, I was billed a little over $400 for 165.8 gals. I can't even verify we got that much so I don't know if the driver wasn't paying attention to the fill or the ticket info, but either way- his mistake. I've been trying to dispute the invoice for a month now and THEY'RE ASKING ME should they just take the gals back? I said sure- if you can prove it was ever even put in there, but I'm not paying.

Amerigas is price gouging for propane. Please be aware of this prior to delivery. They recently charged me $1.00 over market value per gallon for propane. I have never received a bill this high, even during the propane shortage back in 2014. I recommend you find another provider. This gouging should be illegal!

In the 1rst week in October I switched suppliers at my cabin. I contacted Amerigas to pick up their tank. The lease was due at the end of October. I got billed for the new lease. They did not pick up their tank until mid December. I sent memos to Amerigas in 4 times from October through January asking them to contact me. All I got was a new bill and letters from a collection agency. When I tried calling numerous times I've been on hold for over 90 minutes and never was able to talk to anyone. Any ideas?

They are the worst!!! Had to call at least a dozen times and each time you have to wait at least an hour on hold just to talk with someone! After about 15hrs on the phone and 3 weeks later we finally got propane delivered but then they overcharged me $134 and took another 2 months of pulling teeth and calling another 4 M F times to get my money back! And now to put the cherry on top I finally am done doing business with them and have another company deliver propane and had amerigas come get their tank well now they are trying to charge me $75 for picking up there own tank!!! W. T. F! Just when I thought I was done with them they do this AND they automatically pulled this money out of my bank account WITHOUT my consent!! How is this sh !t even legal!!! Customer beware DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT do business with amerigas they WILL screw you!!!!

After learning that a couple neighbors had their charges either reduced or charged almost half of my current bill, I called Amerigas. I had to call 3 separate times and each time I've spoken to someone who was not professional, did not sound as if they knew what they were doing, and offered my next fill for $0.10 per gallon when I asked them to close my account. I declined that "generous" offer.
