After having AmeriGas for over 20 years, I have always been happy with our local distributor but they sold out. Run like heck folks if you are considering gettingyourpropanefrom them. Hours on the phone and multiple calls are necessary even if they let you run out. I pity the poor delivery guys. It's hard to see another good American company destroyed by another that truly doesn't care about their customers.

Never use Amerigas
So we are their automatic refill, ran out of propane and they say emergency refill will take days. Their customer service line sucks they only state policy and if you ask for a supervisor they hang up on you. Do not use this company. The worst customer service ever. No way to talk to anyone on local level and one of the calls there was so much static that I was told to call back

After being a 30 year client
After being a 30 year client, I have gone 13 days without propane. My area has not gotten any snow or sleet however they closed due to road issues...No One Cares!!! Have installed an new electric system before they even can get me service. They take your money and let you hang, do not care about customer service at all. Even wrote the president Mr. Lundan, he does not care either.

Service so bad it should be illegal
I let my gas tank reach 0%, since I'm new to using gas for heat. My wife called Amerigas to get it refilled, and they said they can refill in 10 days. During this 10 days, the high is in the 40s, and the low is as low as 17 and below freezing every day. This is unsafe temperatures for a family with kids, and unsafe for the pipes in the house. For this reason, my wife pleaded with them to expedite the process, and they hung up on her. Then she called back, and they hung up again. Then I called at around 1pm, and they said they could expedite it within 24 hours for $300 and $200 for 72 hours. I went with the $300, and I got off the call pleased. But then I noticed that I didn't get the text message she said I would get, so I called back at 6pm and they said they had no record of the expedited delivery, so I had them set it up again. This wasn't easy, since the rep had to get her manager to assist. Finally, they were able to set it up, and I got the text message, so I only had to deal with this cold for 1 day. Then the next day came, and they still didn't show up. I called at 5pm to ask about the status, and she said it was $300 for 24 to 48 hours, but that was never said and that was also not what was in the text or my account of their website, which both said "expedited 1 day". I bought this house with an Amerigas tank, so I'm stuck with them as a provide, but they are literally willing to destroy my house, since they know it's not easy for me to get another supplier. Avoid at all costs. If you are buying a house with an Amerigas installed, then make them remove the tank before you purchase, so you can get a different supplier.

It’s been 9 days with no heat
I know AmeriGas won’t care about this review. I was told I’m a “dining room number” AmeriGas didn’t like, but I’m writing this review in hopes others will see this and choose another company for service. I have paid off my entire account balance. I’m a single mom of two. I’m doing the best I can to provide for my babies and give them a warm place to come home to. We have been without heat for 9 days now after being told I was put on an emergency delivery. They filled my tank on the 8th day while I was at work. Locked my tank because by the time they had gotten to me my tank became empty and now they have to check for leaks and light my pilot. Never once alerted me that they were at my home and needed to do service or they would lock the tank. After waiting for them to come fill my tank for 7 full days all to realize they filled it but I still can’t use the heat. They want to charge me $149 to check for leaks and $69 to flip a switch and light my pilot. They can’t give me a date for them to come back out they just tell me someone will call me to schedule and that could be another week. We have just had a snowstorm and temperatures are extreme. I feel as if I’m being held hostage to this tank and AmeriGas. I have called multiple times expressing my concerns my babies are getting sick all to be hung up on and sent to a survey every time. I’m convinced the supervisor doesn’t exist.

Do not use Amerigas under any circumstances
We were customers of Amerigas for 17 years. Up until a few years ago, the service was reasonably good - we were on an auto fill program which seemed to work, and had a very helpful driver who provided good service. A few years ago all that changed. We started running out of propane despite being on the auto fill program. The driver told us he was not allowed to deliver without specific instructions from the company, and it became impossible to reach a local person. Two weeks ago our power went out in a snow storm, and our propane powered generator came on. After several days, as the level of propane dropped, we started calling Amerigas to ask for a refill because we were about to run out. We talked to people in all parts of the country (which is what you get when you dial the local number), who were all polite and said they were making a note of what we needed. There was never a response from Amerigas, and they never showed up. We ran out, and since the power was still out, it was cold, dark, and without water. We canceled our contract with them and called a different provider. There's another storm in the forecast for tomorrow, so the new provider may not be able to install their tank when planned, but whatever inconvenience this causes is worth it to get rid of Amerigas. If I could give them a negative 5, I would. Do not use them.

RUN away
RUN away, I thought this WAS a Great company. but after being with them from 3 years.. they are CRAP!!! FIRST let me tell you why we went to them 3 year ago. the propane company that had the account when we bought this home was refusing to upgrade the tank size to a 500 gal. when they picked up the tank they claimed that there was less gas in tank them actual and so wasn't going to refund the correct amount for unused gas. thank god I took a picture of the gauge before it was picked up. anyways AmeriGas saved us, they had a actual person answering phones off hours. we were able to order and get account setup on a weekend. super smooth for everything. but 2 years ago, we were running though propane faster than normal.. actual went out totally. they discover a pin hole leak on the control value of the hot water tank. we got lock out of propane use. note I have hot water baseboard heat on propane and hot water heater. no propane =no house heat, no hot water - oh and this was the holidays. 2 weeks before Christmas. AMERIGAS charged me for the leak check - $75 dollars, told us its our problem to get fixed. was ripped off by a guy that replace the heater with the wrong kind a gas tank- natural is not LP. AmeriGas put 50% in. without my knowledge that the water heater was wrong. we run out of propane in days. AmeriGas again locked us out. $2000 dollars in propane, labor and appliances, AmeriGas didn't care, charge us again for the leak check and I had no more money. it took another 2 weeks to get back up and running with both heater and water tank. we had no propane for almost a month. DID AMERIGAS CARE --NO, they made money on our bad luck. not even a discount or payment plan. now that brings us to my past two orders. with propane being a fortune. I decided to get the tank full before the full winter prices kill my budget. order 380 gals which was $780, that was to get us to 80% from 40%. AMERIGAS delivery window was a ten days... 20 days later I got my delivery which instead of it taking us to 80% I was at 20% when they came. I called twice and their answer to why it was 12 days past the time frame. "I HAD 40%, I DIDNT NEED IT YET".. I was pissed. Because of covid, MY husband lost his job - single income with 4 people to budget for 6 months. I didn't need propane, I just like spending money on useless items. RIGHT and money just falls from the sky. WHAT gives a company the right to dictate when you get something you have paid for with promised a date. IF THERE WAS C.O.D around maybe but 12 days past. now today again I ordered $800 worth of propane. promise time frame screen shot was 7th to 11th. on the 10th THEY changed it to the 13th. I called and confirmed we were getting a order today, even added gallons to the order which made it now $1000 order. all before 11am. 6pm NO PROPANE, tank is now below 10%.. ESTIMATED 5 days left of propane. WINTER cold front FRIDAY(tomorrow) I can't have my house temp above 60 degree or I WILL BE OUT by the weekend( no service on weekends or after hours). AMERIGAS - no more live person after hours. have a issue after hours - OH WELL. and to top all of this, in trying to find a way to get someone on the phone I got online into my account. they change my estimated % of my tank from 12% to 79% FULL. REALLY no propane and my tank is full. falsified information is what you get with this company. I been nice and understanding but they are messing with the well fair of my family. they going to pay for my doctor bills when we all get sick because there NO HEAT. NO MORE WITH THIS SELFISH, EXPENSIVE COMPANY. remember the customer is 98% right, NO CUSTOMERS=NO MONEY=NO COMPANY.
THEY DON'T CARE about AMERICA, THEY ARE CRAP!

Very bad and they don't care
If you have any other options for a supplier, use them, as you will not be happy with this one. On a scale of 1 -10 in customer service, Amerigas is a negative 5. They do not deserve to stay in business. I could list many issues with them, but there is not enough space. If you are accustomed to dealing with people who are professional and appreciate your business, then stay away from Amerigas. You will be angry and disappointed.
