Amerigas has horrible service and customer service. On 2/21 I called for delivery for my 94 yr old mother who ran out of gas. The first rep said her computer was having trouble and could she call me back, I said no and I called again. The second rep took my request and said that the gas would be delivered on 2/24. On 2/24 I called at 4:00pm and the third rep said the gas should be delivered before 7:00pm. I called on 2/25 and the fourth rep said the second rep was confused and thought I said my mother's tank would be empty on 2/24, he then proceeded to tell me that the gas will be delivered within 7 days and that they also deliver on Saturdays. I called on the 8th day and the fifth rep said that it takes 5 to 10 days before the gas is delivered. I then asked to speak with a supervisor, she told me that what she was telling me was indeed correct and she is sorry that the other reps gave me misinformation. Needless to say, my 94 yr old mother is still waiting for gas from Amerigas.

Amerigas left my 84 year old mother in the freezing cold for several days in Show Low, AZ, before she finally hired another company to bring her propane. She had no hot water or heat. They said they had made her delivery, but couldn't even get anyone out to check after repeated phone calls. When the new company put their tank in, they said the existing one was empty. Ameriprise would not refund my mother for the delivery that they didn't make. Do not use this company.

Horrible customer service and a rip off in price if you don’t order enough but they won’t tell you what the level is that you need to get the lower volume. I had to change my billing address with them. It couldn’t be done online so I called. I was on the phone for an hour and a half to get it done.

Do not use this company! Horrible customer service! All calls are taken by people outside U.S. with very hard to understand accents! Plus, it was their fault my propane ran completely out and they waited over 30 hours before refilling the tank! They are too big and too callous! On February 22nd my house in Vermont was getting colder even though I was running the furnace. I checked the Amerigas online tank gauge and it said tank was at 57%. I then called and had my furnace service come out to fix the furnace. They came and said nothing was wrong with furnace, that I was completely out of propane! I called Amerigas twice on the 22nd. They informed me it might take up to 48 hours to get a refill! I said that was unacceptable. I always asked to speak to a supervisor and said it was an emergency but the representatives said no supervisor was available. The Amerigas number always connected me to a call center outside the U. S. and I could hardly understand them. I spent all day yesterday on phone trying to see when the propane would be delivered as there was a winter storm warning for the next day and I did not want my pipes to freeze. No one gave me a window for when it would be delivered. Finally, at 6 pm they delivered the propane, over 30 hours after I called them for an emergency propane delivery! Terrible company. I am canceling service.

If I could give a ZERO i would as 1 star is too high. Every time you call you get someone in Southeast Asia who you cant understand. If you ask to speak to someone else, like a manager, you get put on hold for over an hour. Three times I had gas attempted to be delivered. Three times I have told them there is a gate to our neighborhood that the driver will need to call from the call box to reach me to unlock the gate. Three times the person for Amerigas said they understood this and would make notes letting the driver know to call from the box at the gate. This is the WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY 53 YEARS OF LIFE!!! This company has no care or concern for anyone other than themselves and should be put out of business. As a business owner, I am embarrassed for them that they have such poor customer service and no attention to providing a quality service.

DANGEROUS COMPANY.....called a few months ago twice about a gas leak, it took them a day to respond. Called them again this last week and sent a request on their website for a delivery and they said they would be out last week, nobody showed and I called again 2 days ago, they said they would be out the next day. Fast forward 4 days now and they are a no show. I run a senior dog sanctuary and we are without heat. The call center said now it may or may not be today and it was and hour wait for me to speak to a supervisor. WORST PROPANE SUPPLIER EVER.

I was really hopeful when I begin to do business with AmeriGas. Over the last three years of doing business with them, As long as I notified them when my tank was 50% full, it never mattered to me how long they took. I’m a good customer… My wife and kids love the fireplace :-). We spend about $3500 a year with them. Recently, my wife and I were traveling and my normal routine to check the gas tank was interrupted. When I did check it, I was down to two or 3%. I called AmeriGas for an emergency delivery and they said they would be glad to have someone out there in 48 hours—for a extra fee of $300. Otherwise, they couldn’t promise me when they would be there but anticipated it would be before 10 days. I declined, and got another local company out the very next day (without any gouging charge). I currently have a credit with AmeriGas— because they double billed me the last time they delivered. Because of that, I left the order open. As of today, it’s been 12 days And still no delivery. When I called yesterday not only could they not tell me when they would be out, they told me interacting with a supervisor would take three days. Then, they proceeded to “educate“ me, informing me that it was winter time and there was high demand. Of course, that’s true; however, I think they knew winter time was coming, right? Doesn’t that happen every year? We are at 13 days, for an emergency delivery, and counting. No remorse from customer service and more importantly, no solution. This is not a company that cares at all about serving. They obviously see propane as a commodity and recognize that my house goes cold and dark without it. Whatever their original intention, their current business model reflects their understanding that there are limited propane companies and lots of customers. Hence, those customers are treated as inconvenient and barely necessary. There are better companies out there. In fact, I would say any company out there is better :-).

The worst experience I've had with a company. The previous owner of my home installed an AmeriGas leased underground tank. This was in year 2000 making the tank over 20+ years old. Since it is owned by the service provider, I am under their lease program. Moved into house in 2016 and it's been the worst customer service since. It began with back and forth exchanges asking them why they are filling my tank when it's not low and charging me. Their explanations didn't make sense. After calling them out, I switched from auto-delivery to will-call so I had more control over deliveries and could track their fill amounts and rates. Maybe coincidental, but they promptly came out to put a wireless meter on my tank as if saying "better not use another provider, or else." Not only are their rates routinely ~two dollars more than competitors, but my rates are significantly more when compared to neighbors in my town who use AmeriGas. They've also not made deliveries within their agreed upon windows causing my tank to go empty in freezing weather; it wasn't until I went on social media that they acted on this. They make it impossible without paying excessive amounts of money to move on from them. I was told a couple years ago I could purchase my tank for $716. They lured me in with a temporary low rate. Fast forward to now, they are now saying in order for me to purchase my tank it will be $3522. This screams unethical. Not only do they not work with their customers to achieve a good relationship, but they go out of their way to leverage the cold weather and empty tank to make it impossible for a customer to get a fair rate or even purchase their tank. Also have to note, according to their customer service, they recently went "corporate." Doubt it's coincidental that the price of my tank magically increased nearly $3k. All I'm asking is for AmeriGas to make this right. Either give me a fair price on rates or give me a legitimate, fair price for my tank.
