AmeriGas PropaneReviews of amerigas.com

Terrible service and awful customer service, delivery driver left purging screw opened causing propane leaks from noon till late evening when service truck came to fix it, created huge fire danger to all street and handicapped residents in the adult family home they filled tank, 5 % of 1000 gallons tank went in the air, until they fixed their fault, trying call them is the worst experience u can have

I recently bought a residence in June 2022 which was being serviced by Amerigas propoane. I decided to go with a different propane supplier and asked Amerigas to come get their 500 gallon tank. They told me it would be a couple weeks before they could get the tank. Two (2) weeks turned into several months. I called back a week ago and was told a representative would contact me within seven (7) days. Eight (8) days later and still no contact. I now have a partially-filled ugly and unsightly looking tank in my driveway trashing my property. I understand I'm not a customer of Amerigas, but they should have the common courtesy to retrieve their tank. Customer service is awful. This has been a horrible experience. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to be a customer of theirs.

Amerigas put us in a real bad position. We are dumping Amerigas as soon as possible. Like other reviewers, we had an order that was supposed to go out and never materialized. They missed three scheduled appointments for delivery. In that time, our gas level went from 20% to 8% and now we're scrambling. The Amerigas drivers have confided that the company is so messed up they can't find drivers. I called to try to sort matters out only to be told (1) they couldn't speak to me because my wife is the primary on the account, and (2) I called again and they spoke to me only to tell me that the order would be "delivered within 24 hours" - which was three days ago. We are in a rural area and depend on propane delivery. We are in a pinch now and have to find a new vendor and have Amerigas's tank removed on short order. As of right now, I am blowing the entire day waiting for a gas delivery that probably will not arrive. If you're looking for serious trouble, go with Amerigas.

first of all GET YOUR PROPANE ELSEWHERE!!! My daughter just ran out of gas, it's Dec 14, 10pm. Ameria gas said they delivered 115 gallons on Nov. 22nd, but no receipt was left on the door. She lives alone and has a gas furnace and an on-demand water heater that is gas. She washes clothes in cold water only and doesn't use the dishwasher. She also has a wood-burning stove going all the time it is a 1000 sq. foot home. She has never had more than 55 gallons delivered at any one-time charts provided on the website are proof of that. She ordered gas at 40% and they said they delivered 115 gallons to a 120-gallon tank. If the tank was completely, empty according to them that would have been against the law because we asked once why they don't completely fill the tank when they bring gas and we were told that by law they can not fill a tank to more than 80%. I finally got through to customer service on Dec. 15 at 8 am after an hour of trying to tell them the gas was never delivered they finally agreed to send a serviceman out to talk to us and make sure 115 gallons hadn't leaked out in 22 days, so we were happy at least we could talk to a real person that might have some common sense. We were told he would call an hour before he came. So at 4 pm, I called customer service again because we had never heard from a service tech only to have to go over everything again and finally be told that the service was scheduled for some time within the next 2 weeks. I tried to tell them it is December the high today was 21 and going to get colder. Then I was told they could cancel the service and schedule a delivery but that would be over a week away. I told them I wanted our money back for the delivery of the 115 gallons that never happened. They finally asked if we wanted this to go to arbitration and I said yes. But when I checked the account today there was no mention of arbitration. They closed the local office and would not give me the local driver's number so I could call him. It is all done through a call service that is manned by people who have no idea what you are talking about or care about real customer service but they can read a pre-written answer for everything. This isn't the first time we have heard of them doing this exact thing to people usually it is to the elderly. We will be buying a tank and getting gas elsewhere! Oh and if you do that they said they will charge you to come to get the tank. Just stay away from this company and find a company that cares about customer service.

i live in Washougal, Washington. No deliveries. Ten days past scheduled delivery. Out of propane now. Customer service promises are lies. Customer for 19 years in good standing. I could cut and paste all the angry customer comments here as they are the same as my experience. I am now supposed to be waiting for a 'manager' to call within the next 3 days. I was told by a beat down service rep that the local dispatchers had stopped answering the phone and emails.

Amerigas sucks!! Ordered gas they gave delivery date which was 3 weeks ago. Have called 4 times & spoke with someone , they have given me different dates for delivery & still no gas. Can not give me a reason why they haven’t delivered . I will get another provider . I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

The ultimate corporate BS. Whatever happened to the idea of breaking-up companies so that they do not have a monopoly over the consumers???? I beg you, be smart and stay away from Amerigas.

I called 2 weeks ago to let them know I was running low on propane and when would they be out. I have automatic fill where they are supposed to track my propane usage and fill without me doing anything, but they don't. I always have to call. I was told they'd be out Tuesday. That was fine. They didn't show up. I called again Thursday and a person who barely spoke English told me they'd be out that day. They weren't. I called that night because now I was really low, it had been 2 weeks since first call. I talked to supervisor and was told they'd be out that night or very first thing next morning. They didn't show up either day. I still have not seen the truck and am now critically low. Nothing but lies and incompetence. And there is no way to contact local center. Everything goes through call centers with people that don't speak or seem to understand English. If they want to improve they will show up when they say they will and they will have representatives that don't lie to customers.
