If I could leave negative stars I would. Amerigas is awful. Bad customer service, bait and switch tactics, tried to charge us to repair a problem with the tank we rent from them. Every time you turn around they’re trying to bill inappropriately. Good luck if you choose them.

Our entire area has been out of propane exchange bottles for almost three weeks. We are in a Rural Area, almost 20 miles from the nearest Amerigas location, we rely on propane exchange bottles for heating and cooking. Local retailers have stated they never know hen to expect a delivery. Very frustrating to burn two gallons of gasoline to purchase a propane exchange bottle.

I have been with AmeriGas for years before they were bought out by UGI. I used to be able to call the local number and I would speak with the same lady every time. She could handle the deliveries, get in touch with drivers, make sure the account is up to date, ect. Now I call an '800' number and speak with someone that is reading off a script. We ordered propane and like always there is a week time span, which was expected. 2 weeks go by and no delivery. I messaged an online person and they said that they were behind deliveries due to lack of drivers. Okay fine. Another week goes by and I contact them through messaging. They said the delivery is tomorrow. I asked in several different ways if I should expect deliveries in the future to be outside the 1 week prediction. Rep could not give me a direct answer. I then called and spoke with someone and they said the delivery will be there tomorrow. I asked the same question. She said that it was because of the lack of drivers. I asked if we should have been contacted regarding the late delivery and she said, "Yes, we should be contacted if the delivery late." I told her that I was never contacted and she said she would report it. It seems like everyone is having this same issue and after being a customer for years, we will be searching for a new propane supplier in the spring. I too, have 2 children under 2 and having the thermostat on 65F is not right when we have a solution to this issue.

A brand new home – and they installed rusty parts. Billed me for 800 gallons of liquid, propane - and never actually delivered it. We discovered the error and requested delivery, but then they texted that they couldn’t fill the tank because it was already full — incorrect, the tank was empty. Overbilled me 12 ways to Sunday; and you either have to email, or (if you can actually get someone to talk to) speak to foreign nationals in Ohio (WTH?) who don’t help. In the end, I’m out over $2500 (AFTER buying their tank for ca. $6700). BONUS: they have a an arbitration clause buried in their contract, and the arbitration fee to dispute them starts at $2000. I’m giving them one star because zero stars is not an option.

AmeriGas charges 20% over average price. Refuses first responder discounts. Leaves you on hold for 20 minutes at a time. And every question you ask results in a transfer to someone else who contradicts what the previous rep says. One rep said I Chas a 5% discount, transferred me to someone to process it, and was then told I did not have the discount. I paid $720 for one month of propane, and was told if I call to order propane, to ask for discounts each time (pennies on the dollar) rather than just being charged a decent rate or given a consistent discount. Same sleazy tactics as DirecTV or other corporate slime. This is sorry, unethical, and once I can find another provider, I’m running.

Not if I can remember all there daily lies .... I ordered LP on 12/27/22 at the recommended 35% level....called the next day recording said to expect delivery on 1/3/23...so far so good....But never got delivery...so I called was told that I would receive on the 4th....didn't happen....called on the 5th because tanks ran out completely early that morning...was told that they would create a expedited ticket so I would get in 24 hours....what a joke!! I called on the 6th empty promises again even though they delivered to my neighbor that day..Once again a day without gas...On Saturday the 7th I called again was promised delivery before noon another empty promise.....it seems to be what they are best at...anyway didn't get gas on Saturday after 2 calls....low and behold Monday the 9th comes around guess what? no gas still I called the automatic gas update it says Delivery scheduled for today the 9th.....wanting to speak to a customer representative to confirm they said delivery scheduled for the 10th...not sure how they can treat customers this way..but apparently they loose no sleep over there ability to fulfill there promises

My 90 year old mom who has been a loyal customer for over 40 years has been without gas for 4 days and counting. We have called multiple times and assured of a delivery “tomorrow”. Horrible customer service. Corporate has no regard for their customers. She is on automatic delivery by the way, but her tanks ran dry. Really no excuse is worthy at this point.

I have a $4000 pre-buy with Amerigas. Gas is supposed to be delivered automatically. My entire house tank ran out of gas 10 days ago. I have called at least 20 times and tried every number imaginable and every time I get the Philippines call center. It’s impossible to get anything local. I have cancer and I am not well in a cold house. I have been told over and over again that I have been put on an emergency list to get gas but none shows up. I am stuck here in a remote area and only have that company to choose from as far as gas companies are concerned. If you use propane and you have the option to avoid Amerigas, I would highly recommend that .
