They were supposed to assist with my website and did not do a fantastic job with that. I’ve asked for updates to be made several times in which they were not made. I used this company to handle a trademark application, which they abandoned with no explanation as to why. I was then told that wasn’t eligible for a refund.

Hi Conor,
We take feedback very seriously; however, after thoroughly reviewing our records with both our support and QA teams, we have no record of a client under this name, nor have we received any complaints regarding the issues described.
The situation mentioned — including a website being used for illegal advertising — is extremely serious. We have not received any report of such activity, and none has been identified within our monitoring or support logs. If this had been brought to our attention, it would have been escalated and addressed immediately.
Similarly, we have no record of unresolved update requests or an abandoned trademark application tied to the details provided. Our process includes documented communication and status tracking for all client projects.
If this review relates to a genuine concern, we strongly encourage you to contact us directly at [email protected]
with your project details so we can investigate properly and resolve the matter. We are fully committed to transparency, security, and client satisfaction, and we are more than willing to look into this further.

Edit 2: Because they are saying my claims are false, here are my claims.
1. Stripe testing is still enabled, so even though its "complete and ready to go" customers cannot purchase anything.
2. I have been trying to upload a simple product and the website will not let me! The most important part...
3. The shipping integration is also still in testing because when i try to use it, it says "SAMPLE ONLY, DO NOT USE TO SHIP" watermark
4. no notifications for sellers that an item was bought from them. the most basic features like a notification system is not present.
5. claimed I did not purchase the maintenance option even though I have an invoice clearly stating that is bought and them saying maintenance is active.
6. Asked to fix some very obvious visual glitches 3 weeks before "completion" but they claimed that I never did. I sent them a screenshot of the email I set and their confirmation that it will get fixed and they never responded to it.
7. From what I know now its very obvious that PHP and wordpress are not even close to what I need for my platform but they suggested it anyway. At the time I did not know that and trusted more experienced people, boy was I wrong to do that.
8. I need other developers to fix so many things and every one of them are confused as to why they suggested PHP and wordpress and said the coding looked like the level of high schoolers.
9. Also said that they would write and publish 2 blogs to get it started and didnt do those either.
Edit: Finally "completed" but not really. The website is visually glitched for most phones and says "database unreachable" quite often. They refuse to fix this claiming "The project is complete, you agreed" but I wasnt aware that I was responsible for catching any and all problems?! They claim they have a team to find and fix bugs but I have pointed out VERY obvious problems all throughout my time working with them.
Also, every other developer reminds me how OLD the website is (using PHP and Wordpress) Its old technology that will not scale with users or features. I did not know any of this when I started unfortunately. PLEASE DO NOT WORK WITH AMERICAN WEB BUILDERS.
I talked to AWB in the beginning of 2024 and agreed upon a 6 month timeline and a set price. Some things changed but they are STILL WORKING ON OUR PROJECT IN 2026 and have charged me thousands more. I have gone through 2 project managers and they have almost stopped working on my project. They will not refund any work or finish the project as we agreed on. They might be ok for small sites but building out a marketplace style was obviously far beyond their capabilities. The site is slow and doesn't have a consistent feel compared to other sites in the same category.

Hi Malachi,
We strongly dispute the claims made in this review and note that it has been repeatedly edited over time to introduce new allegations while disregarding the documented history of the project.
The website was developed, revised, delivered, reviewed, and approved in accordance with the agreed scope of work. The project was not closed unilaterally; it was completed following client acceptance and handover of all deliverables. The claim that no functional website was delivered is directly contradicted by the approvals, communications, revisions, and records maintained throughout the project.
We also wish we had the option of directly uploading supporting evidence here, including screenshots where you, Malachi, explicitly confirmed that the site was “completed,” which in industry terms indicates that the client has reviewed and tested the platform and confirmed it is functioning in line with their expectations at the time of approval.
What is particularly concerning is the continued reliance on opinions from third-party developers who were never involved in the project, have no knowledge of the agreed scope, revision history, approvals, or deliverables, and may have a financial interest in recommending redevelopment. These opinions are being presented as fact despite lacking the full context of the project.
The review also continues to blur the distinction between project completion and ongoing maintenance, support, configuration changes, and future enhancements. No professional development company can guarantee that a live website will never require updates, troubleshooting, or maintenance after launch. This is precisely why maintenance services exist across the industry.
It is worth noting that the project was reviewed, accepted, and delivered. Yet months later, the narrative has shifted to claims that the platform was never delivered correctly in the first place. These positions are fundamentally inconsistent.
To put this into perspective, if a customer receives a meal, consumes it, accepts a replacement or accommodation for any concern raised, and later claims that no meal was ever served, it reflects a contradiction in the narrative. Similarly, a project that has been reviewed, approved, delivered, and accepted cannot reasonably be portrayed as though no value was provided simply because disagreements arise after completion.
We also reject the assertion that WordPress and PHP are obsolete technologies. Both remain widely used, actively maintained, and commercially supported technologies worldwide, and their use was clearly part of the agreed solution.
We maintain comprehensive records of the project's proposals, approvals, revisions, communications, deliverables, and post-launch correspondence. These records will continue to be provided to Trustpilot so the matter can be evaluated based on documented facts rather than changing allegations.
We stand by the work delivered, the professionalism of our team, and the contractual obligations we fulfilled.
Regards,
American Web Builders.

American website builders, are not to trusted
American website builders have just handed over an uncompleted website that they charged me a lot of money upfront for. I gave them a simple design concept and they failed to deliver. Instead their lead, Roy, has been very unprofessional and disrespectful to a paying client. I regret ever engaging them and will not recommend their services to any one.
Response from American Web BuildersApr 24, 2025
Dear Prince,
We appreciate your feedback and would like to address your concerns while clarifying a few important points:
1. The website was fully completed and delivered with all agreed-upon features and pages functioning as expected. It was deployed only after your final approval — a fact also reflected in your earlier positive review.
2. The changes you requested after completion and deployment fall outside the original project scope. As with any professional service, additional work requires separate billing, and we reserve the right to either decline or quote appropriately for such requests.
3. We were particularly concerned by your threat to leave a negative review unless further unpaid work was completed. In addition, the use of abusive language toward our team was both inappropriate and unprofessional. As a business, we stand by our values and our team, and we will not tolerate behavior that undermines their efforts or integrity.
We remain open to resolving any legitimate concerns you may have in a respectful and professional manner.
Best regards,
American Web Builders

Beware they are scammers be careful they will take your money and ask for more even before I asked is it the only thing I will be paying .
Response from American Web BuildersApr 4, 2025
Dear Brina,
We take customer satisfaction very seriously and want to clarify any misunderstandings regarding your experience. Our team is transparent in outlining pricing, and we never force or pressure anyone to pay for extras. It is our responsibility to inform clients about potential costs for services they request outside their package, so they can make an informed decision. If you chose not to proceed with additional services, there would not be any extra charges.
If you have any remaining concerns, we’re happy to address them professionally.
Best regards,
American Web Builders

Scammers
We paid this company $19,535 to manage our website. When we told them in March of 2023 that we no longer needed their services, they took our website down (we own the domain) and are holding it hostage. Two years later, they are calling demanding payment. They are very rude, talk about you while you are on the phone and refuse to actually speak with you. They tried to bully us into paying them when they took our website down. They then offered us a deep discount on our "outstanding bill" for their managing of our website that they took down. Please tell me how you can manage a down website. They are bullies and scammers.

I've been dealing with this company for…
I've been dealing with this company for a year and a half now, they're still not finished with my website. I keep going back and forth with them about finishing my website, sometimes they work on it, sometimes they don't work on it. It could be days weeks or months before I hear anything. This website should have been finished within 3 months or less. I asked them to make changes to the website, then they disappear for 2 months. I contact their main office, they finally get somebody to work on it and then I hear nothing. I'm so dissatisfied by this company and there is no legal route to take to my knowledge. They keep telling me that this is a million dollar website, they offer other services, but I just really want my website to be finished so that I can start making some money from it. Crickets, that's what I get. So I guess I'll just keep leaving bad reviews until they get the point. I paid for this up front. Never again. So far I am $24,000 in the hole for a website that doesn't work.
