I have still not received a resolution, as they are ignoring the fact that I have an email from Barns and Noble directly that there is no contract between them and American publishing. They then said they would provide me other services and then because I do not trust them (who would after this experience) they keep back tracking. I still have not received a new project manager after mine was fired. I just want what is fair and they are not providing this.

My review for American Publishing is not directed at the entire company, but specifically at the project managers and representatives I worked with. The deliverables outlined at the start of my engagement were never delivered. Instead, I was met with excuse after excuse, which ultimately stretched the editing of my book into a process that took over a year. At one point, a project manager claimed that delays were due to me not responding promptly. When I provided a detailed list of emails showing that I had responded within hours—or at most two days—the explanation suddenly shifted. Later, I was told that the editor assigned to my book had been pulled off to assist with another project. While both editors I worked with were phenomenal—thorough, creative, and professional—the constant changes and lack of accountability from the project managers made it clear where the real issue lies. Perhaps the project managers are overextended or overworked, but that is not my problem as a paying client. Their inability to manage timelines and deliverables directly impacted my publishing journey. In the end, I had to take it upon myself to complete the final editing process and self-publish my work. Needless to say, my experience with American Publishing was disappointing, and I would caution others to carefully consider the reliability of their project management before committing.
