RV had damaged water tank which was not discovered until the next morning. 5 adults spent three days and nights without any water, washing or toilet facilities. Wasted 1 day and 1 night of our holiday undergoing repairs. Only compensation was a refund of one day rental. Nothing for the inconvenience or upset. Travelled from England for this holiday and it is NOT a good advertisement for your country. Will Not be using this company again and will warn anyone else against using them. We do have friends in the U. S. and they will also warn against using this firm.

I had a decent experience until....
I had a decent experience until I brought the trailer back and was accused of swapping out propane tanks. I assured them it didn't happen but they didn't believe me and wouldn't let it go. Just by luck, I took a picture of the trailer and my truck when I was leaving that showed the original propane tank matching what I brought back, otherwise I would've been out honest money because of their incompetence! Turns out they rented out a trailer with a propane tank that was 10 YEARS past it's certified life. VERY scummy situation. They didn't offer anything for my trouble or to make me happy, so I will never go back and I haven't been quiet about telling friends about what happened, screw em!

American Dream Vacations deceitful business practices
American Dream Vacations is now claiming that a window blind over the dining table was damaged during our rental. I pointed out that the blind was not working when I returned the vehicle with no other damage and had not been working since we picked up the vehicle. It appears they may be employing a business tactic of charging rental customers damage deposits for normal wear and tear of vehicles in an effort to make maintenance improvements at rental customers expense.

All of our rentals are video inspected with the participation of the customer at the time of pickup. This same process is completed at the time of return to avoid discrepancies.
Some of the most common interior areas of damage are in the cab over bunks or hallway bunk beds due to passengers climbing in and out of the bunk areas. Many times, the damage goes unnoticed by other on-board passengers.
All of our vehicles are individually owned and we are under contract to ensure these vehicles are properly taken care of. We are not in the business of nickle and dime-ing anyone as we would much prefer your repeat business but should any damages occur while on rental, it is our obligation to charge and repair these items.
We would be happy to clarify any concerns and address any doubts you may have. Please contact the Albuquerque branch to resolve the matter.
Your business is much appreciated.

Electronics were not working which lead…
Electronics were not working which lead to the auto-level system failing which then caused the slide out NOT to retract. We spent hours trying.
Response from American Dream VacationsAug 22, 2019
Mr. Mott,
I apologize that you experienced difficulties with the rental.
Due to your delayed arrival and at the request of your significant other, we left the vehicle parked out front after hours to ensure your trip could begin mostly on time. Part of the consideration was that the instructional videos were watched and that you were already familiar with the vehicle. This proved not to be the case.
Upon return of the vehicle, we found absolutely no problem with the vehicle systems, leveling jacks or slide out. It appears that having illegally driven with the slide out extended was completely unnecessary. Thankfully no one was injured, no accidents were caused and no damage was done.
Evidently this was a case of operator error. Clearly our flexible pickup practice was a mistake.
Your business was much appreciated but the unfair, out-of-context review was not.

I am very sorry you didn't enjoy the experience.
The vehicle that you took had only 1,700 miles on it and was new with your usage being this vehicle's second voyage. Upon return, no issues were discovered with the vehicle with the exception of your damage. Any concerns brought up while on the road were immediately addressed.
As first time RV'ers it can be somewhat intimidating driving all the way to Florida especially with 16 passengers despite our clear warning. Traveling with this many people can cause drive-ability issues not to mention tire issues.
We appreciate your business but it is clear that RVing may not be for everyone.

Not happy with experience!!
Not happy with experience!!!
Upon pick-up, the refrigerator was not turned on, as we were told it would be, so it took forever to cool it down with the propane tank while we were on the road for 5 hours and had to stop for ice to keep the food from spoiling.
The generator was inoperable during driving both directions so the cabin was 95 degrees and running the a/c at max did not cool us much.
The DVD player was inoperable.
There was a leak in the black water hose connection causing bad odor outside RV.
City water connection also had leak on the RV
Unfortunately, our 1st experience renting an RV was tainted and we would not rent from Copley RV/American Dream Vacations again. The units are not inexpensive and I think the maintenance should be 1st rate.
Response from American Dream VacationsAug 12, 2019
I apologize that your experience wasn't as expected. We do our best to have refrigerators cooled down in advance especially when requested. Sometimes this isn't possible when we must defrost the refrigerators/freezers in order to properly clean them for each customer.
You are correct in that it can take anywhere from 2-8 hours for the refrigerators to cool down. This is stated in our pre-departure information including the handbook and videos so that each customer can be adequately prepared. It is always suggested to use an ice chest in addition to the refrigerators especially for larger, bulkier items such as drinks which are frequently consumed.
The DVD players can be a little more complicated than usual because they are often routed through switcher boxes that allow the feed to be sent to multiple TVs.
There is no reason the sewer hose or water hose should have leaked. This is unacceptable and will be brought to the attention of the appropriate department to avoid recurrence.
We appreciate your business and would love the opportunity to make this right. Please contact your local branch for the opportunity to resolve this satisfactorily.

Don’t rent an rv from here!!!
I was informed the rv I rented was broken down at 4:30 in the afternoon. I was supposed to pick it up at opening the next morning. I had to switch from a newer class a to a class c.
The replacement had tv’s missing (only one remained that worked), outlets that didn’t work, and no rear running lights. We were pulled over by the police and forced to sleep on the side of the highway. I paid for roadside assistance and they said they could tow it the next morning. They were extremely unhelpful.
The American Dream Vacation I rented from gave me a $70 discount on a $3,000 bill and were unapologetic. I will never rent an rv here again and will actively advise others not to do so as well.

Wish I could leave a better review
The staff at this location seemed very nice, polite and friendly. The unit we rented was as expected, gently used, some wear and tear, but overall we had a nice RV vacation experience. However, our experience in closing out the transaction has been very poor. More of our deposit was ultimately withheld for reasons that have not been addressed or what we feel has been justified. We had utilized the company's kitchen kit (pots, pans, cups, silverware) and linen set (sheets and towels). The kitchen kit was heavily used, which was fine, and the towel set for two people was also previously worn in, again that was fine. We used both rented kits accordingly, though i did notice one small fitted sheet did not fit the new bed the owners had purchased which was oversized. We used two bath towels, one hand towel and one wash cloth. After taking a shower on the first day, water dripped on the floor and we used one small wash cloth to wipe the floor. It was quite dirty, which actually showed the unit's floor had not been cleaned properly before we took it. The small wash cloth was indeed dirty, however it was simply dirt from the floor. When we received an email after checking back in and in regards to the refund deposit, we were told they were withholding $40 more dollars for damaged towels (on top of the $20 rental fee), and charged us for both sets (total of $60 for using their towels). All towels had been used appropriately, and only one wash cloth was "dirty." After calling American Dream Vacations twice over a 10 day period to ask why we were charged so much, ask if we could see pictures of the alleged damage, ask for an explanation of why all towels were considered damaged, no response was received and we realize now no further money will be returned. Needless to say, I don't even believe the towel sets cost $60 brand new to begin with. Im quite disappointed with the company as I had believed they were very professional. Even though we had a good experience in the RV overall, I would not rent from this location again as I would be concerned they would keep more of my deposit than what they were entitled to keep without explanation.
