Notified them of a chip in the windshield. They provided no further follow up of action by me. After a month returning the vehicle they send me a bill for the damaged windshield and the insurance that I purchase on the rental would not cover because I did not notify them and I did not get a police report.
Lesson learned. Do not rent an RV from these people.

We rented an RV in the middle of summer…
We rented an RV in the middle of summer I had my wife two children and my elderly parents on the trip out west to visit some national parks. Within the first 8 hours of a two week trip the generator quit working I called american dream explained the problem so they could call ahead to a RV repair facility all I kept getting was the run around. On day 3 of our trip in 100 degree heat I called and told them I was stopping in Williams AZ for 2 days to give them plenty of time to get someone to the RV park and fix the generator the answer I got was they could not find anybody. At that point we decided to change our vacation plans so i called them back and told them we were going to Las Vegas and the RV would be parked at the Circus Circus RV lot because we thought for sure they could get someone in Las Vegas to at least look at the generator but after multiple phone calls daily after 3 days and a lot of excuses from American Dream we decided to cut our vacation short and head home. The temperature was over 100 degrees so I went to Bass Pro bought a rack for the back hitch of the RV then went to Home Depot and bought 3 gas cans and a generator strapped it on the back of the RV plugged the RV into it and headed home early. I have pictures I wish I could post to show what we had to go thru just to get home and after we changed our entire vacation to give American dream every opportunity in the world to help us they never did. I ended up spending around 5,000 in extra cost in buying the generator and all the parts to make it work so we could get home and the extra hotel cost and expenses. We ended up not going anywhere we had planned because of problems we had with the RV we came home 5 days early and American Dream refused to give me any refund at all (0) they said they took the RV to a repair shop and nothing was wrong with it very convenient for them if they would have got someone to look at it while I was on the road in 100 degree heat then the outcome would have been different. VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!

I put my new motorhome with them to rent. ADV (not a renter) wrecked it, did not tell me about it. They took 4 months to repair it in house. The worst repair job ever! You could see the road through the cracks in the drivers compartment. They didn't even pay me for the 4 months of lost rentals. They just said, "It didn't rent." Do not put your RV in their hands.

Worst company I have ever dealt with
Worst company I have ever dealt with. Should be renamed to American Nightmare Vacations! We rented one of their top of the line RVs for July 4th several years ago. The RV lost power the 2nd night — no lights, a/c etc. we couldn’t get any one from American Nightmare to answer our calls for hours. When we finally got a hold of someone we had figured out the problem(internal batteries had gone bad even though RV was plugged in). They told us it was fine for us to repair ourselves & they would reimburse us for our expenses with a receipt. Turns out they would not reimburse us without the giving them the battery charger. Owner rude & not helpful.

Sweating our way to Florida
Rented an RV to take to Florida. Generator went out in Louisiana, we called them and were told to drive at night as it’s cooler...No offer to repair or help in any way. We continued to Florida with no rear AC. When we arrived at our destination we had 4 days they could have repaired. They wanted me to drive 1 1/2 hours to a repair shop and wait on the repair with no offer of fuel money, much less spending a day of my vacation away from family. We were reimbursed the $50 fee for unlimited generator use...we have used other companies to rent RV’s never again will I use ADV. Note this was the Houston location.

I apologize for the issues. We all want every customer to have flawless trips; however, occasionally, failures will occur.
While it is never ideal to detour, this inconvenience is often minimal as compared to continuing the trip with problems. Many times, during the busy travel season, service availability is limited. All service opportunities should be taken seriously and/or strongly considered.
Once our offered service was declined, it is difficult to take full responsibility for what followed. Having said that, all compensation for inconveniences is addressed once the vehicle is returned to the rental location.
Regardless, I can assure you that not all rentals unfold like this. I encourage you to give them another chance or any of the other ADV locations.

Please read before you decide
Please read before you decide! We had a horrible experience with American Dream Vacations! Two flats due to poor maintenance/dry rot and their was minor scratch damage as a result which our insurance was billed for. The air conditioning didn't work well enough so we spent the majority of the time sweating and the generator didn't work. There was some kind of problem with the brakes caused by the blow-out but we were informed that it wasn't an issue we needed to have fixed during our trip, they could do so once we returned... As you might imagine we did not feel very safe with our family in an apparently extremely poorly cared for RV. (And we didn't get one of the "cheap" rentals. Our cost was $4000 for 6 days and we did inform them we were going on a Family Road Trip.
We were told from day two when the first tire blew and we spent half the day at a mechanic/tire shop that they'd "take care of us when we returned" they continued to tell us this everytime we had to report another problem... this was a lie. I had to write a formal complaint, they never even spoke to me in person about it, they just kept saying "all complaints have to be written and mailed in" when we returned and were in front of them again.
The shop we had the first tire replaced at highly recommended to them that another tire was dry rotted and needed replacing but they refused and we had the second flat the next day in the middle of nowhere and had to wait hours for assistance.
In the end they offered us a voucher we could use towards another rental, they kept our deposit and charged our insurance for something they should have taken responsibility for and they refunded us $50 for the generator not working.
We did purchases a portable air conditioner so that while we were parked at the RV site we could plug it in and get some cool air in the summer heat.
Also we had boards falling while we were driving due to the vibrations, from the bathroom and kitchen area so we had to tighten those down. Based on our experience with RVs this is not a normal problem but caused by neglect and poor maintenance.
Note : Our experience was about 5 years ago and I filed with the Better Business Bureau and their ranking was dropped. Since then I've tried to be removed from their mailing list plenty of times yet they continue to send me coupons, holiday banners and surveys. That's how you came to see my review again today. I pray that if you do decide to vacation with American Dream Vacations that you have a far more enjoyable experience and stay safe!!!! But I highly recommend you look at other companies so you have better odds.
ADDITIONAL NOTES TO ADV AFTER A SPEEDY RESPONSE : Customer Service response time has obviously improved! I do hope your company has made improvements in all areas though your message leads me to believe that is not the case. Everything I stated is true and a value on another rental I'd never step foot in is not taking care of our family, especially after your management wouldn't talk to us in person and you charged our insurance for your costs of damages as you mentioned are more expensive and time consuming than proper maintenance. The generator did not work so I'm not sure how you have it logging anything.
But more than a refund we would have appreciated being treated as customers who you failed rather than a problem your company didn't want to deal with. Your company offered us an amount off of our next rental and a $50 check by mail while charging us far more than that in damages caused by poor maintenance and ensuring we would never come back.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO STOP SHARING OUR EXPERIENCE WITH ADV PLEASE REMOVE ME FROM YOUR EMAILING LIST.

I understand the frustration caused by a generator failure and I appreciate your cooperation while on the road. Given the circumstances, I feel that every attempt was made to correct the situation once we were notified and seeing as the generator left here working fine, I don't feel that the failure was due to any oversight on our part. All service records indicate that oil changes have been done as scheduled along with all other required servicing.
Our records indicate the 71 hours were put on the generator during the 7 days that you used the rental vehicle. This equates to a over 10 hours per day of usage; however, you were reimbursed every penny paid for usage of the generator.
All of our vehicle tires are thoroughly inspected and properly filled with the required air pressure prior to departure. We do this not only for the safety of our customers, but also to prevent all of the problems that may arise from a blowout or tire failure during a trip. The costs incurred on the road, for blown tires and assistance, are often far more expensive than that of a proper inspection and/or replacement of a tire while here on the lot. The last thing we would want is to have you or any of our customers upset or delayed due to oversight on our part.
Blowouts can be alarming and distressing to say the least and waiting for roadside assistance can become tiresome. I apologize for the delay in the service that was provided, but it is not uncommon for any roadside assistance to take several hours especially during summer months with increased travel. Unfortunately, the time frame in which they respond is out of our control and given the circumstances, I feel that superb service was provided. Thankfully, no one was injured during this uneasy time.
In the summer heat the air conditioners make the vehicle much more comfortable, but these units are working very hard to do this. Under perfect conditions, the A/C can bring interior temperatures down to about 20 degrees cooler than outside temperatures. Of course, there are several variables that affect the end result.
Following the return of the vehicle and after inspection of the roof air conditioner, we found no problem with the functionality. Although I am not denying that you experienced problems with the A/C, we have been unable to replicate the issue.
Lastly, our offer of up to a $1,000 value towards your next rental.

I planned and saved for a year for a…
I planned and saved for a year for a roadtrip with my grandchildren and daughter- Upon arrival to pickup unit wasn't ready, yet they claim it was inspected. My first impression was the rv was a rundown, but was surprised when the dinette bed broke and then the AC completely went out on our 3rd day in the middle of summer in San Antonio TX. 100 degree ++ I immediately contracted them and spent an entire day running all over San Antonio at their instruction (2 separate places) to get it repaired all over town before I ended up calling a RV repair guy that came to our RV Spot at the KOA. The service guy came and said unit was fried- not fixable, he offered to replace it but American Dream Vacations did not want to spend $$ to replace the AC. I had already prepurchased tickets for Sea World so rather than losing my $, I went to Home Depot & purchased a ventless a/c unit on my credit card - $350 to use for remainder of the trip. It wasn't perfect but it certainly was better than nothing. All of this absolutely ruined our vacation..I spent $1800 to be miserable. We cut our trip short to return unit early, & upon our arrival of its return we encountered the MOST RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL staff that I have ever dealt with, JUST RUTHLESS. Instead of trying to salvage our unfortunate (costly) experience, they had the audacity to claim I had damaged a vent cover over the bathroom on the roof, & lost a hubcap somewhere along the way and they charged me for these items, they even attempted to charge me for additional mileage and keep my entire deposit even after all that had happened. Ridiculous!!! If my credit card company hadn't battled with them, they would have kept it all. I still ended up paying $1700+ for a completely wasted trip.. It was the most miserable experience I've ever had with a RV Company, and I rent one every year this was my first and only time with AmericanDream. I wouldn't use this unprofessional company even if they gave me their best unit for free ever again!!!!! Beware....
