American Book WarehouseReviews of americanbookwarehouse.com

I bought flashcard CHST book from this provider. My wife had bought me the same exact book, without me knowing. I reached out to return the book, & their return policy is absolutely punitive! First of all, the book was $20 more than what my wife bought it for! On top of that, there was a $9.95 shipping fee which made the book now $30 more expensive! They also weren't going to reimburse the shipping fee, plus a 15% restocking fee, in addition to paying for the book being shipped back! Their method of shipping to me was Amazon, & apparently where they got the book from. So the same book through Amazon was $20 cheaper, with free shipping, & if you have to return it, the shipping back is at no cost! I cannot imagine how this place stays i business, as practically a middle man for Amazon books! I'll never, ever shop from these price gouging middle men, ever, ever again! Shame on you...

UPDATE: After many months of emails and phone calls, I finally heard back from them and they refunded my money and offered to make it right by allowing me to select a book they would send me free of charge. It turns out they never even had possession of the book they sold to me. I haven't selected anything yet, but I appreciate the refund and the gesture. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I placed an order on September 2 for a very expensive book. They sent me an order confirmation and charged my credit card. They have never sent a shipping confirmation and don't return any of my emails or phone calls. It appears I've been scammed.

I ordered a book from them as a first time customer and the book arrived in the promised condition shortly after ordering. So why did I give them only 2 stars? I spent much time and effort to find this book online from an independent book seller because I no longer wish to support Amazon. I ordered from American Book Warehouse and guess where it came from? Amazon. They portray themselves dishonesty and I won't buy from them again. I'll keep searching for an independent book seller who isn't a front for Amazon.
