First of all they call me and they ring my phone off the hook and get me to take one of their plans and tell me that I'm going to have free medical and dental and vision and I have to talk to three people on the phone before that happens and when I finally do find out what I qualify for none of it I don't get free dental and vision I just get the medical and I'm promised a benefit card where I can buy food and gas That's the biggest lie I have ever heard in my life I've had this insurance three times and the card is not accepted anywhere and you have to do tutorials online to even earn money and you don't earn as much money as you lately people to believe. And you take my insurance away from me after telling me it's free after about 3 months you take it away and then a month later you calling me back again trying to get me back on it so what is the point in the purpose? I do not want any part of this company it's a scam from the get-go. You people lie about benefit cards and they're not worth deadly squat. And today I got a call from a lady trying to get sell me this insurance and I told her I said look I've already had this card in this insurance three times three times and all three times the card wasn't accepted anywhere. I said it's no good it's it's a light I can't use it why would I want something that I couldn't use? And that woman paused for a minute and she said you're right she said you are right. Then she puts me on the phone with another person which is a man and he asked me the same stupid questions that she did and says I'm going to have free dental and vision along with free medical care then he wants to put me on the phone with somebody else I mean that's ridiculous why why three people what is going on with that and by the time you get to the third person who tells you what you're qualified for you're not qualified for any of that stuff at all so why do you guys have to scheme to get people to sign up are you getting a cut for it or what

I told them I did not want this insurance when I checked into it. But now it shows up as if I have and is causing problems for me getting my medication. They obviously don't care if you get your medication or not! I do not recommend ambetter at all. It is a fraud just like most insurance companies are!!!

I would give 0 stars if that were an option. Getting information, talking with representatives, you name it -- all of it challenging, and frankly infuriating. Trying to change my primary care doc is not possible unless I provide their NPI, and the doc is IN THEIR network. Ambetter, "...can't access that information." In. Sane! When I tried to get info about a prescription that was required prior authorization, I was on the phone for more an 75 minutes before even getting to a person who ended up conveying completely erroneous info about why I was calling and what I needed/wanted. Think of them as playing the game of "operator," because that is what happened. I have many other examples, so I am not a one-wrong-move-and-I-write-you-off consumer. If you have choices other than Ambetter, use them.

Ambetter is hands down the worst insurance company I have ever had, both for denials and customer service. I have documented chronic pain and they have denied over & over the treatments recommended by my healthcare providers, treatments supported by medical records that they are working. They deny every appeal. They are especially bad at denying physical therapy, and my physical therapist has had Ambetter denying many other patients too. Their customer service is poorly trained and incredibly unhelpful. Their main goal seems to be to get a customer off the phone, and they ignore requests for a supervisor or escalation. Multiple times it's been clear they are doing a search for my question in an internal knowledge base and reading the answer verbatim. One time I found what they said word-for-word on Ambetter's website (which wasn't an answer at all to the question being asked).

I am a Stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma patient whose cancer spread to several lymph nodes. I went through chemotherapy and radiation, and follow-up scans are essential to watch for recurrence. I had Blue Cross until this year and never had a problem. After switching to Ambetter, they denied my three-year PET scan, saying it would only be approved if I had cancer again or complications. The purpose of surveillance is to catch cancer before it causes complications. I am reporting this to every appropriate regulatory agency and exploring legal action. Do not buy Ambetter.

I purchased this insurance through Marketplace two months ago. I have tried three times to get my policy to me on paper as I do not have good internet in the rural part of Arkansas where I live and do not use a computer. I have not been able to make any appointments not knowing my out of pocket expenses or the doctors and dentists that take this insurance. I have always received my policy by mail in the past.. This company is getting over $1600 a month in subsidies not to mention my monthly premium but they won't send me my policy so I can actually know what and how much I will be paying for everything.

Ambetter is a leach of an insurance company that the insurance commissioner of georgia allows to continue its prey on customers. They are allowed to take money from peoples account without enrollment under the guise of passive enrollment. This comany has taken over $8000 from my account in the last 7 months, have not provided service and has refused to refund me. When I call I'm told they don't have me in their system. When I call the agent she told me I was disenrolled. I then went to my bank to stop payments. Since my bank stopped them from $1-1000 Ambetter waited to withdraw $1700 EVERY 2 MONTHS. When I complained to the insurance department they basically acknowledged that they took my money out, refused to disenroll me and acknowledged that they will continue to bill me. This is not only dishonesty but it is also a scam and the banking division, the state insurance departments and the attorney general is allowing them to continue this tactic.
