If you're thinking of using Ambetter, don't do it to yourself. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I had to switch insurances because it was one of the only options I could afford at the time. I don't have any major health issues, but I do struggle with chronic insomnia. I have never in my life fought so hard to get my medication covered only to be denied multiple times. I have tried all kinds of medication over the years and only last year found one that works for me. They will not cover this medication as they want me to try and fail with four other options that my doctor says are not great to mix with the other ones that I take. My complaint is not necessarily with the customer service team - I feel that though communication was a little challenging, they did their best as individuals to help me. This company is the worst insurance I've ever had and I regret ever switching to them.

Customer service rep named CEASAR told me to shut up and let him ask the questions. How dare he talk to a customer like that.

Ambetter is one of the most frustrating companies I have ever had to deal with in my life! I am unable to find a PCP in my network that is accepting new patients, even though the Ambetter website lists a multitude of them. I have called over a dozen PCPs listed on the Ambetter website as accepting new patients only to learn they are not accepting new patients. When I called Ambetter to see if they could help and how out of date their information is, I was told "The clinic probably hasn't updated their information in the past week." My former PCP left the clinic I used to see her at over nine months ago and she still shows up on the Ambetter website as accepting new patients. I finally found a nurse practitioner two hours away that was in my network. Last fall, I saw her once and I liked her. Almost immediately Ambetter no longer covered the clinic. I'm trying to schedule a screening mammogram and scheduled one after my appointment last year. My appointment was for tomorrow, but today I found out Ambetter no longer covers that clinic. What was outrageous, Ambetter couldn't tell me if they covered the clinic or not, but when I called the clinic and talked to someone that handles pre-approval, I found out I would have to pay out of pocket. In the meantime, I continue to get texts from Ambetter reminding me I should schedule myself for a mammogram. Sheesh! It feels like they're just hoping we up and die.

1000% scam don’t fall for it

I've had Ambetter through Covered CA for 2 years. Hands down the worst insurance I have ever had. I went from Silver to Bronze thinking the difference was just the deductible, but it's more. Speciality doctors are mostly not covered, or just don't exist (search "Cardiology in Temecula" on their website!) and they outsource their phone to the Phillipines. I'm in my 50's and not hard of hearing, I cannot understand half of the time and their training is terrible, they just read a script and don't listen well. Also, my doctors office was dropped by them and they never told me, costing me time and money in finding a new doctor and cancelling an appointment in less than 24 hours with a specialist. Lastly, their website is terrible and missing common filters like "accepting new patients" and also listed many doctors that hadn't taken their insurance in a while. Honestly, it's crap. Don't get care from them and don't enroll with them!

Horrible. So Ambetter was apparently covering me from March of 2024 until December of 2024 And I had no clue. I was paying out of pocket for the entire time thinking I was uninsured. Today they were no help on the phone. Either reimburse me my out of pocket expenses or cancel my policy from last year so IRS doesn’t slam me.

Absolutely the worst! Ambetter is the worst insurance experience I have ever had. They gave my son and my husband, on separate policies, the same member ID #. This created a horrible mess! They took my husband's premium and applied to my son's account. My husband's coverage did not appear anywhere. I could go on and on forever about about all the difficult reps, wrong information, confusion and overall headache this company caused me. To actually think some would choose this company simply because of the cost realizing the horrible headache the actual medical care would be, would be the worst decision anyone could ever make. I strong do not recommend Ambetter to anyone. There are other low cost options out there. Do a little bit of work and make sure you the medical care your deserve in a manner that you can feel good about.

This is the worst service you can ever in your life get it take 10 to 15 days to convert points that should only take five days you call them about your bill that they haven’t paid they give you the runaround if I was you I would not get the service get United healthcare or something else a lot of doctors do not even accept Ambetter. I have been turned down from a lot of doctors because of their service. They are a terrible company. I called him about my points and I still did not receive my points now it’s a new time for me to get my points and they give me the runaround and my bill is due very sad company
