Was running R-410 18K condenser and two 12K heads. Had to replace my outdoor condenser unit due to compressor failure. While new R-410 compressor part would have been covered under my warranty, and was available, the installation would cost more than a whole new condenser, plus I still would have had to pay ~$200 shipping. I therefore decided to just replace the whole condenser (18K), however, I could not replace with like for like because R-410 refrigerant items are already almost complete sold out due to change to R-454B, and 18K unit unavailable. Frustrating. I realize that the refrigerant change is out of Alpines control, just wish that had kept more stock. I was able to purchase one of the last available R-410 condensers in a larger size (36K) and add an additional head unit and expand my system to now to have three 12k heads. My gripe and reason for 2 stars is that they will not provide typical warranty for my brand new items because 2 of the 3 indoor head units are not brand new, even though the new head unit is the exact same model as the older two. I will say their tech support team has been very good at helping troubleshoot when I was trying to diagnose the bad compressor, I would give the tech team 5. Unfortunately, I would give Alpine Air as a whole though a 2 star review due to the warranty issue.

We appreciate your kind words about our technical team. We understand the frustration of replacing equipment while trying to keep the parts of your system that still work. With very little R410A inventory remaining, we generally reserve it for complete systems, but made an exception so you could keep your existing indoor units. We explained the one-year warranty and discussed other options before purchase, and you decided this replacement was the best fit for your situation. Thank you for sharing your experience, including where the options fell short of your expectations. It gives us something meaningful to consider as we review how we support customers facing these replacement decisions. – Alpine Home Air Products
