Payout denial over a wrong allegation
My Experience with Alpha Trader: $607 Payout Denied Over IP-Location Discrepancies I am sharing my experience so other traders can consider it before purchasing an account with Alpha Trader. My $607 payout was denied following a compliance review involving IP-address records that reportedly showed access associated with different locations in Nigeria, including Lagos and Kachia, Kaduna. I disputed the decision because I traded using my own phone and mobile-data connection. I did not use a VPN, share my account, or allow another person to trade on my behalf. During our correspondence, Alpha acknowledged that IP geolocation is not the same as GPS location and that mobile-network routing can produce inaccurate location information. They also acknowledged that their available historical records did not conclusively identify a second physical device or a specific third-party trader. Nevertheless, they maintained the payout denial and subsequently stated that the case was closed. My concern is that the available evidence, as explained to me, did not clearly establish how the location discrepancies proved that I had violated the account-access rules. I asked Alpha to clarify the basis for its decision and reconsider my payout. As of the date of this review, my $607 payout remains denied. I am sharing this experience to encourage other traders to read the account rules carefully, retain their trading and login records, and seek written clarification about IP-address policies—especially when using mobile data. This review reflects my personal experience and the explanations Alpha provided to me. I would welcome a clear response from the company explaining the evidence and contractual basis for its decision.
