Paid $4400 to ship my vehicle from AK to FL, so I would not need a rental in FL. I shipped the vehicle a month prior to my next trip. Based on my experience in logistics, the shipping from A to B is mapped out before taking the money. They only planned from AK to Tacoma, did not schedule to FL. Vehicle has been sitting in Tacoma for 2 weeks. The person on the phone did not care about negative post.

We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience caused by the delay with your vehicle.
For a multi-leg shipment such as this one, spanning thousands of miles and crossing not only bodies of water but also the continental United States, carrier availability and port schedules can significantly impact the overall timeline. This is why we let our customers know ahead of time that all pickup and delivery dates and times are estimated and not guaranteed. The size of your vehicle and the delivery location have also been limiting factors regarding carrier availability.
Our team is actively working to confirm a carrier for the remaining portion of the transport. As soon as a carrier is confirmed, we will contact you with the updated information. Again, we are sorry for the delay and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve it.

Good luck…
This company is all over you until the sale happens and then at that point, you’re on your own. Highly recommend putting a tracking device on your car, cause they won’t know where it is, and the DO NOT communicate. I’ve been on hold multiple times, over 30 minutes, no one has answered the phone. My car supposedly arrived at the port a week ago, but zero communication from them. They also don’t reply to emails.
Please note, based on the reply below, which makes it sound like they have stayed in contact with me, that’s not the case. I had to contact them both times, sitting on hold for over an hour, getting hung up on. I was assured a manager would contact me, nope, didn’t happen.
If this company knew how to ship cars, they would have had a transport waiting when my car arrived, instead they have no idea who or when my car will ship.

We sincerely apologize for the delays and frustration you have experienced. Your vehicle became available on 8/13, and we have been actively working to confirm a carrier for your shipment. Once a carrier is confirmed, we will contact you with the updated information. As per our records, we also spoke with you on 8/13 and again on 8/17 to provide you with updates regarding the status of your shipment.
As stated in the Terms and Conditions you signed at the time of booking, all pickup and delivery dates and times are estimated and are not guaranteed. We understand how frustrating this situation has been, and we sincerely apologize again for the delays, and any inconvenience this has caused.

Terrible
Terrible. Gave me a quote and then after I paid, called me to say that it’s actually $600 more. When asked how they could do that, they said they dont charge until the day. I said I have to look into it as that is a substantial amount more and she said, “well just cancel.” And hung up on me. I believe this was so they didn’t have to use the quote. Don’t trust them.

Stressful Experience and Poor Communication
When I arrived at the port to drop off my vehicle, I was told that my scheduled drop-off date was the day prior. This was despite the fact that I had the correct drop-off date from Alaska Car Transport in writing. As a result, it became a scramble to get my vehicle onto the boat in time.
Once my vehicle arrived at its destination port, I received a call from the driver who was transporting my vehicle the remaining eight hours to me. He stated that Alaska Car Transport was not answering their phones and that they needed the company to release the cargo. I then had to call Alaska Car Transport myself to request that they complete this step.
I was promised port-to-door service and paid for port-to-door service. However, the driver instructed me to meet him at Lowe’s in my town. After waiting there for over 45 minutes, he called and clarified that he actually meant the Love’s truck stop, which was another 20 minutes out of my way and outside of town.
Overall, my experience working with Alaska Car Transport was stressful and unpleasant, and the service did not align with what was promised.

We sincerely apologize for the stress and confusion you experienced during your vehicle transport. On 12/22, you advised us that you wanted to change your drop-off date to 12/30, and we immediately notified the port of the updated schedule. We regret that this adjustment still caused some inconvenience upon arrival.
Regarding the delivery, we apologize for the confusion about the meeting location with the driver. The carrier should have been clearer about where he intended to meet you, and we understand how this added to your frustration. We always strive to provide door-to-door delivery; however, in certain circumstances, the carrier may need to ask the customer to meet them at a safe and legal location. As outlined in our Terms of Agreement, if pickup or delivery at the agreed-upon location is impossible or impracticable due to weight restrictions, low trees, small roads, or other obstacles, customers may be asked to meet the driver for loading or unloading.
We understand that this experience was stressful, and we are truly sorry that the service did not meet your expectations.

Never again!
Never ever in my 85 years on this earth have I been treated so shabbily by a business. I purchased a used Audi TT in Houston, TX, and hired Alaska Car Transport to ship it to my home in Fairbanks. Normally one would think this would take about ten days, maybe two weeks at the outside, well not in this case. The TT was picked up in Houston on August 30, it arrived in Anchorage on Sep 10, pretty reasonable, however it sat there for 14 days and finally arrived in Fairbanks, 360 miles away, on Sep 28. My utter frustration came about as a result of ACT refusing to provide me with any prediction as to when the car would actually be delivered. In fact at one point I believed that it may have been stolen. When i called to inquire the response was always “we’ve assigned it to a carrier they will let you know.” When I asked who the carrier is, they claimed they didn’t know. Repeated calls got me no where. I finally learned, from an outside source, that the TT arrived at The Port of Alaska, in Anchorage, on Sep 10, and was “released” to someone on Sep 24. It then took 4 more days to find its way to Fairbanks.
I would never, ever, under any circumstances consider doing business with Alaska Car Transport again.
Follow up, my expectations were based on A.C.T.’s time estimates.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration it caused. We understand how important your shipment was and how stressful it felt not having a clear delivery timeline.
However, we do believe it is important to manage expectations. You requested your vehicle to be transported from Houston, Texas, to Fairbanks, Alaska. The distance alone is over 4,000 miles. To make matters more complex, it is not a straight drive by one carrier on the roadway. Shipments to Alaska need to traverse the Pacific Ocean to arrive in the Gulf of Alaska, which turns it into a three-leg journey accomplished by three separate carriers, one being a ship.
The graphic displayed on our website gives our customers more information on how long they can expect a shipment to take. The starting estimate on travel time for your distance is 16-17 days. This is significantly longer than the 10 days you estimated on your own. From there, carriers may be forced to delay through no fault of their own due to issues that arise such as rough seas, inclement weather, and road closures.
Also, once the vehicle arrives at the port in Anchorage, scheduling the final leg of transport depends on carrier availability, which is why delays sometimes occur. All dates and times given are always estimates, and while the overall process usually goes smoothly, there can occasionally be longer hold times at the port before the vehicle is released to a carrier.
With that being said, we do acknowledge that your vehicle was delayed and arrived for pickup later than estimated. We at Alaska Car Transport did work tirelessly to locate carriers and coordinate with them to minimize delays as much as possible. We do regret that the communication with you did not meet your expectations.

Car was shipped from Anchorage to Houston
Car was shipped from Anchorage to Seattle with zero issues. When the car arrived in Seattle they notified me they could not find a carrier to pick the car up and transport it to Houston, Texas. The car is now sitting in Washington state with no way of getting to Texas. They told me I could go pick the car up myself and drive it or wait for them to figure it out with no timeline of arrival.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the transport of your vehicle. We understand how important it is to have clear updates and want to clarify the current status.
All pickup and delivery dates provided during the booking process are estimates, as vehicle transport depends on carrier availability, routes, and scheduling. While your vehicle successfully arrived in Tacoma, WA, we are still actively working on securing a carrier for the next leg of transport to Houston, TX.
Once a carrier is confirmed, we will immediately provide you with the updated pickup and delivery timeframes. Please rest assured that our team is continuing to work diligently on your behalf, and we will keep you informed as soon as we have confirmed details.
We apologize for the delay and the frustration this situation has caused, and we are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Never again
I would never use this company again. I shipped a Subaru Forrester from Tacoma Washington to Anchorage Alaska. It was over $3000 to ship the vehicle. There are cheaper options, but Alaska car transport assured me my vehicle would make it safe and on time. I planned my return to Alaska the day after my vehicle was supposed to be available for pick up. When I returned, I called Alaska car transport and was told that my vehicle Not only wasn’t ready for pick up, but hadn’t even left the port in Washington yet. I was stranded in Anchorage without a vehicle and ended up spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars extra because of this. The vehicle didn’t arrive for two more weeks after the date they told me it would be there.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand how frustrating delays like this can be, especially when plans are made around the estimated delivery timeline. While we do our best to meet all projected dates, all transit times are estimated and not guaranteed, as stated in our terms and conditions. Delays can happen for a variety of reasons, especially during the winter months when weather conditions, port congestion, and seasonal demand can impact transport schedules.
We truly regret that your vehicle wasn’t available as expected and recognize the inconvenience this caused during your return to Anchorage. Our team works diligently to minimize disruptions and keep our customers informed throughout the process.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

NO STAR and will give ZERO...I've…
NO STAR and will give ZERO...I've shipped my Subaru on 28th January 2025 and it's February 14th when I received another email that my vehicle changed the delivery date in Mesquite, NV for the second time and changed the carrier for the second time. I called 907-331.0663 and the lady said that there's no GUARANTEE and scheduled date when my vehicle will be delivered. I asked her Supervisor, but she didn't transfer my call! I fully paid for the shipment to Alaska Car Transport and getting POOR Customer Service and BAD experience!!! Avoid the hassle and go directly to Matson located at the Port of Alaska. Where's my Subaru Alaska Car Transport? Should I file for the missing car?
Response from Alaska Car TransportFeb 17, 2025
We understand how frustrating delays can be, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. As stated in our terms, all dates and times are estimates, as carriers can experience unforeseen delays, especially during this time of year with weather conditions.
Initially, your vehicle was assigned to a carrier with an estimated delivery date of 2/17. However, due to unexpected truck issues, that carrier had to cancel. A new carrier was then assigned, and your vehicle was picked up on 2/14. The current estimated delivery date is 2/19. As of now, the carrier is in Hermiston, OR.
We understand your frustration and regret the delays. While unforeseen issues can impact transit times, we are actively monitoring your shipment and ensuring it stays on track for the updated estimated delivery of 2/19.
