I'm not going to write a lengthy review. First, I did a ton of investigation over the course of our house build which took eight months. During my investigation I found my self comparing everyone to Alarm Grid. And i have to say very few measure up to the simplicity and professionalism that was found at Alarm Grid. The tech support is extremely knowledgeable, polite and ready to help you with any questions. I can say with confidence we made the right choice going with Alarm Grid.

Best Alarm Company Out There For the DIYer
I spent several weeks doing research and comparing local alarm company quotes vs. the self-install option for my home alarm system. AlarmGrid was the best resource for parts, questions, and installation instructions. Their website is extremely comprehensive and gives insight on all of the products they sell, not just the manufacturers information. The best part is their support and monitoring service.
After my extensive research, I felt comfortable attempting to tackle the self-install of my alarm system as it would save me over $500 compared to quotes I received. I decided to go with Honeywell's Vista 21ip panel. This allows me to use their Total Connect 2.0 service which has internet and mobile access to my alarm system from anywhere. AlarmGrid's youtube videos were extremely helpful for getting the system installed properly.
Following installation, I decided to use AlarmGrid for my monitoring service. At $30 a month, I get Total Connect 2.0 with both IP and cellular monitoring. This is less than the local competition and there is NO CONTRACT. For anyone who has delt with cellular or television company contracts, you can understand why you would want to avoid a 3 year contract with an alarm company as well. I purchased my service through their website and scheduled a time for a call to do the final programming and turn on my monitoring. Sterling called promptly at the scheduled time. His knowledge of the system was unsurpassed and easily walked us through all of the issues that we had to get the panel connected to service and the keypads and Total Connect properly setup. I can say that it was truly a breeze and I was up and running in less than an hour. I had an internet connection issue which prevented me from being able to setup my IP monitoring during the call. Once I resolved the connection on my end, Sterling remotely connected my panel without me having to do any additional steps.
I can confidently say that I would recommend the DIY alarm install for anyone that has basic technical knowledge. AlarmGrid will take care of the rest. They are unlike any other company out there.

Real pros that make it easy for the DIY’rs.
The first draw to Alarm Grid was their competitive rates and multiple monitoring options without the long term contracts, but I am most satisfied by their customer service. The technicians Frank and Sterling are excellent. They provided guidance while I was trying to change my monitoring service. I ultimately had to change my system control panel because my original provider could/would not provide the programming code. Alarm Grid (Frank and Sterling) provided replacement equipment recommendations that would meet my monitoring requirements and would be compatible with my existing sensors. They provided installation guidance and instructions when I called the support line (if they were not available, they always returned my call). They even have instructional videos on YouTube. The whole process has been a breeze. These guys exceeded my expectations and are real pros that make it easy for the DIY’rs.

Great Service; NO CONTRACT!!!
Earlier this year I ended a relationship with an alarm company with very questionable contract practices. I was really relieved to find Alarm Grid online. Sterling and Frank has been more than accommodating and patient as I learn the technology available to the homeowner in both security and home automation. The service I have received has been more than expected and the value is unbeatable to say the least. I really like the ability to customize my alarm system around our lifestyle without having to spend a fortune and most importantly, chancing being imprisoned in a traditional security contract.
I have been with Alarm Grid for nearly a year and the Total Connect package is an incredible service. It allows me to manage my alarm from anywhere, receive alerts to my phone and notify me on endless sensor scenarios, and can arm and disarm my system from anywhere. In addition, what ever I can not do myself, Alarm Grid can walk you thru or remote connect and fix the problem.
On a personal note, these guys are really knowledgeable and very responsive to my needs. They even remember me when I call. (WOW!!!) I would recommend Alarm Grid anyone who is looking for an alarm company with great service with outstanding prices and don't forget NO CONTRACT!!!

Excellent Company; Really Stands Out From the Competition
I can't say enough good things about the people and service at Alarm Grid. Upon deciding we wanted to outfit our home with an alarm, I started making phone calls (starting with the "major" companies) and soon found that they seemed more interested in making a buck than truly answering my questions and concerns. I'm the type of person who likes to know exactly what I'm buying and like to do research comparing all my options. After being disenchanted with a few of the larger companies, I started to do research on a self-install. Almost all of my google searches brought me to an article on Alarm Grid's website or a video on their YouTube channel. These articles helped me immensely in deciding the equipment I would need and the videos gave me a sense of comfort that I could install the system myself.
After my research was done, I decided to give Alarm Grid a call to make sure I was going in the right direction. I spoke with Sterling and Frank numerous times and never once did they rush me off the phone or pressure me to buy the hardware or service from them. It seemed like they were truly interested in helping me get my questions answered. From there I decided to buy most of my equipment from them as the prices were competitve. I also ended up getting my monthly monitoring through them as they do not require a contract (the only place I found that doens't have a contract) and I felt confident that if anything went wrong, they would be able to provide the support to help me fix any issues I encountered.
After odering the hardware, I started the install. I purchased the Honeywell Lynx 5100 and a few wireless sensors to go along with them and the install was super easy. I had existing wired sensors in my home already and purchased a wired to wireless conversion module so I would still be able to use a portion of my existing system (and save $ on having to buy new door/window sensors). I got stuck a few times on the install and every single time I called, either Sterling or Frank were able to perfectly troubleshoot the issue.
I've now had monitoring for a few months and have had zero issues. Total Connect is an awesome service, I can basically manage my alarm over the internet, get alerts to my phone and email whenever there's been a breach, and can arm and disarm my system from my phone. It's super convenient and very well priced in my opinion.
I don't normally take the time to write reviews of any company. But in this case, I felt that I received such exceptional service and that Alarm Grid truly stands out from it's competitors. I did a ton of research, talked to a ton of different companies, which led to a ton of frustration. It wasn't until I found Alarm Grid that the pieces came together. My brother had the same exact experience with them and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending their services to any of my friends or family.

Very happy customer! Strongly recommend for the veteran or the "do-it-yourself alarm newbie".
Prior to signing up with AlarmGrid, I was using a hardwired alarm system that was very out-of-date. I wanted to use the existing wiring infrastructure, but wanted to replace the brains with something more modern and powerful, that can be interacted with a smartphone. I was also looking to add other features such as cellular backup and expandability for home automation and wireless expansion zones. Although I'm a do-it-yourselfer, I wouldn't call myself a hardcore one, so I had some doubts about my abilities at first as I've never installed a "professional-grade" alarm system before.
When I began looking up do-it-yourself options, I began by watching YouTube videos and came across Sterling's "very detailed" videos. At first, I only thought professionals can buy these type of systems from the manufacturer. However, with some more research, I later found that Sterling worked for AlarmGrid, who sells all the parts needed and offers the monitoring services as well. When I found their web site and called their number to ask for more information, I was very happy to be speaking with Sterling--the guy in the videos himself. He was extremely helpful. Although there were a lot of similar hardware accessories to accompany the Honeywell 21IP, Sterling knew exactly which accessories were needed, and which weren't. One thing that impressed me, is that he made suggestions on how to save on the purchases instead of pushing to buy several items I didn't need. This convinced me right away that I was working with the right person.
Once the parts arrived, I found that Sterling's videos hit everything on the nail. His videos alone answered many of the questions I had. For everything else, we spoke by phone and by email (and he was quick to respond when I chose to email). Not only did I find the experience of working with AlarmGrid to be very positive, what really impressed me was Sterling's willingness to go out of his way to find the answers to the "non-conventional setup" questions I had. They certainly commit to the customer.
The whole process went so well, that not only am I recommending AlarmGrid here, but I am also recommending their services to two sets of family members. Definite 5-stars!

Best customer service.
Alarm Grids customer service helped me with my alarm install. I didnt even buy my system from them. I wish I had. They have youtube videos that step you thru just about anything you need to do. I do buy parts from them to upgrade my area of coverage. They have so much knowledge of the systems & parts. They even call me now & then just to check-in to see how I am doing. My alarm install is like a hobby/project for me. I have a 20 year old system that was wired in when my condo was built. I'm replacing it now with a Honeywell L5100PK - LYNX Touch wireless alarm.
I have worked in customer service for many years. Take it from me, they are the BEST.

Greatest customer service of any company I have ever worked with. Period.
Did a ton of research on home security before taking the plunge with a Honeywell Lynx L5100 for security, home automation, video surveillance. Wifi primary with GSM backup monitoring. Sterling's videos on YouTube are so clear and simple, they make the whole process a breeze. Their responsiveness to questions and issues is phenomenal. I cannot say enough about how these guys run their business. They should teach a Harvard Business School class on customer service and how to build a loyal following as a small, service oriented business.
