Misleading checkout – unexpected $17.99 charge
I purchased an AI skin analysis advertised at $6.99. During checkout, I apparently clicked a button labelled “Continue”, which added an additional PDF report costing $17.99. My total payment was therefore $24.98. Although the final amount was displayed when I confirmed the payment through Apple Pay, I had not knowingly intended to purchase the additional report. After contacting customer support several times, I requested a refund of the additional $17.99. Every request was refused. The company eventually provided a screenshot of the additional offer page. It shows a large, prominent blue “Continue” button, while the option to decline is displayed in much smaller text: “No, I don’t want to get my report.” The $17.99 price is displayed in small, light-grey text, and the “Continue” button does not clearly indicate that clicking it adds another paid product. In my opinion, this is a misleading checkout design that makes it unnecessarily easy to purchase something you never intended to buy. I have also noticed other customer reviews describing similar experiences, which makes the situation even more concerning. My advice: Be extremely careful during checkout. Check every button and the final amount before paying. I am very disappointed with both the purchasing experience and the company’s refusal to offer a reasonable solution.
