Glad I did this
I feel it was good that they wanted lab work from me first. I got long acting metformin. I did as instructed and took only 1 tablet for two weeks before going to 2 tabs. I’ve had no side effects at all. I’m not diabetic not even pre diabetic but even if eating 1200-1500 cals a day and walking 5 miles a day after 3 months ( plus only eating 10 am-6 pm) I lost nothing! As a retired nurse I knew something metabolically was off. I had my md order thyroid labs and they were fine I had a felling something was off with my glucose release vs insulin release due to my age despite my normal glucose levels. I have lost 8 pounds in about 6 weeks which would never have happened before. This is just my personal experience which does not mean that it will be yours. On top of that I had shoulder surgery and hurt my knee thus have been unable to do my daily 5 mile walk. Before I would have gained weight but instead I’ve lost weight. Before my surgery I felt that the metformin make my energy level more consistent without the late morning low energy I use to have. Since my surgery the pain keeps me up and therefore I’m always tired but I can’t blame that because on the metformin since I’m only getting about 5 hours sleep a night. So in conclusion it’s been fabulous for me and I’m glad I did this but again everyone is different and just because this worked great for me doesn’t mean it will for you since we are all unique with different medical history and metabolism.
