***Delivery Crew Danger***
I have achieved a new level of anger this evening, at the ineffective and lazy delivery men of AFW.
On top of them throwing my couches, damaging my walls, being insanely rude to my wife, cursing, intimidating my wife about having to take pieces of our couch up a flight of stairs, and complaining the whole time they were here, I have now discovered that the American Furniture Warehouse delivery men helped me achieve a new level of CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTION, by not even actually assembling the couch!
Please tell me what was the purpose of the delivery?! What the actual fudge is the delivery fee for?!
I only discovered this after I heard squeaking and grinding as we tried to recline and sit. And when I pulled on the top of the seats they all came apart.
I have no idea if there is damage now and I cant begin to express my anger enough.
This is the 2nd time AFW has failed massively. I realized as i went to google to leave this review they botched our delivery for my daughter's bedroom set 4 & 1/2 years ago. I had forgotten that, and inadvertently i have given them another chance.
Its good to see they consistently fail. My mistake.

CAUTION!!
I worked as a delivery driver for American Furniture Warehouse, and both employees and customers deserve to know what really goes on behind the scenes.
From an employee standpoint, drivers are expected to perform exhausting physical labor under poor working conditions while being underpaid and treated unfairly. Route assignments are heavily influenced by favoritism, with the best and most profitable routes consistently going to management favorites while other drivers are stuck with low-paying and more difficult routes. Drivers are also expected to work in dangerous weather conditions under threat of discipline or termination.
The pay structure is one of the biggest problems. Drivers can lose income because of mistakes made by sales staff, even after doing the driving and labor involved. Drivers are also required to contribute $25 from their paychecks into an escrow account until it reaches $2,000. This account is used to cover damages to furniture or customer homes during deliveries, meaning drivers are financially responsible for accidents or damages that occur while handling extremely heavy merchandise every day. Employees have little transparency into how these funds are managed and no control over the money while it is being held by the company.
Another issue is that drivers are often required to fully load trucks with heavy furniture, secure the merchandise, and prepare routes, only for deliveries to later be canceled. Even though drivers already performed the labor and still carry responsibility for any damages while maneuvering the furniture in the truck, they frequently receive no compensation for that work if the delivery does not happen.
Management often lacks actual delivery experience, which leads to unrealistic expectations and poor decisions that directly affect drivers and customers alike. Drivers have repeatedly asked for improvements like a four-day work week to reduce injuries and burnout, but concerns continue to be ignored.
Customers should also be aware that the furniture quality often does not match the prices being charged. A lot of the products are made with low-cost materials such as pressboard, particle board, and foam molding while still being marketed as premium furniture. “Sales” also appear misleading because many items remain at the same “discounted” price year-round.
Another major concern is that returned items are allegedly resold as new merchandise, including mattresses in some cases. Customers spending thousands of dollars deserve transparency about what they are purchasing.
At the end of the day, delivery drivers are the backbone of the company and customers are the reason the business survives, yet both seem to be treated as secondary priorities. Until AFW addresses the issues involving employee treatment, product quality, transparency, and management practices, I would strongly caution both potential employees and customers before doing business here.

Waddell Store Manager
We talked with the Store Manager at the Waddell Location back in January while looking for furniture for our new home about renting part of the parking lot and he straight up lied to our faces saying you never rent or let anyone use you lot due to liability reasons. today we find out there is a new farmers market going in at that location. That is just rude and I will not be purchasing my furniture from American Furniture warehouse. I do not do business with deceitful people. He could have told us the truth.

Worthless
Purchased 2 reclining chairs in less than 9 months seat cushion on both chairs broke down, 1 on the right side and the 2nd on the left. Had a tech come out and he said it was due to use. he took 1 picture, didn't sit in either chair or didn't attempt to diagnose the problem. he said that it was made in China and is disposable furniture. Customer service wanted to charge us $358 to repair the chairs. I would not recommend AFW to anybody!

BUYER BEWARE AT AFW!
Don't do it! We purchased a leather couch and recliner as well as other items. Within a few months the leather was all stretched out on the lower part of the couch when not reclined. Two AFW technicians came out and said, "Do not buy leather from AFW or Ashley Furniture. This always happens." Apparently the 'pillow top' feature and their cheap leather are inferior and will fail, but not within their 30 day warranty period. I attempted to get a prorated refund to purchase something other than leather without any luck. We are still paying on junk furniture from AFW.

I bought a bed from the Glendale
I bought a bed from the Glendale, Arizona location. The rail had a knot and it broke in half. I paid for the service to fix my rails. They first lost my rails, when I had an appointment, got cancelled, then rescheduled, they came to add the rails to my bed and they cracked my headboard on the upper left top pulling it out behind my dresser. One guy put my bed together when it takes two guys because it’s a heavy bed. The bolts are stripped, headboard cracked. The tech guy scratch my wall, cracked my headboard, I was trying to get out of my driveway and his truck was in the way to get him two more bolts from Ace Hardware. He left unfinished work when I paid for this services. His supervisor was in the truck upset because he was slow, maybe he should have helped him. When it takes two guys. Now AFW giving me grief, telling me it’s not unwarranty when they damaged my headboard, bed is lazy due to one man installing, walls damaged, my underground garbage bin is damaged trying to get out. This is uncalled and poor customer service. You can’t speak to a manager because they don’t have one your dealing with a call center unfamiliar with terminology. They want me to pick up my mattress and take a picture of the stripped bolts and everything else. I have taken numerous of photos. And the are playing games

They don't stand behind the furniture…
They don't stand behind the furniture they sale. There is often extended warrantees that they won't look for even when you ask them to. I am told it isn't their responsibility to look for this. Then who's would it be. The people in the Grand Junction store is the worst of them all. I had to call corporate office to have them make it right. This isn't something you should have to do as a paying customer.
