Kenya Family Bucket List Trip
Literally everything from start to finish was outstanding! Nell and Ciara really listened to what our vision for the trip was and as a result, we had an amazing time. We did 2 safaris in Kenya with our 2 adult children. The camps and everyone at the camps, the animals, the guides, the food were all stellar. There wasn't a single area of improvement needed. The entire trip exceeded our expectations! Also of note, my daughter is gluten free and both camps went out of their way to make her special meals and treats.

This was a trip of a lifetime.
This was a trip of a lifetime Angie at AAC planned everything perfectly, from the lodging to the game drives, everything. She was amazing. We saw everything including the gorillas and the great migration to every animal we could have possibly seen. Not only was the wildlife incredible but the people we met are now like family. Thank you AAC and Angie for a life changing experience.

Witnessing the Great Migration
We wanted our family to witness the Great Migration in Tanzania, and, thanks to AAC, we were able to immerse ourselves in the spectacle. They designed a trip for us that let us see a variety of animals and visit three different parks. As we prepared for the adventure, Kent and Kerri were prompt in addressing any questions or concerns we had in advance. Once we arrived in Tanzania, everything went smoothly. The guides were knowledgeable and personable, the staff at the camps and lodges were attentive and welcoming, and the food was top-notch.

5 stars isnt enough to describe AAC
Five stars doesn't begin to describe the positive experience that I had with AAC.
For a milestone birthday present for both my best friend and me, I really wanted to do something truly epic like trek with Gorillas and follow the Great Migration. As I did my research and sorted through outfitters, I got in touch with Tracy at Africa Adventure Consultants.
From our first conversation, Tracy understood what kind of trip I was looking to do, what my wants and needs were to make it successful and also what my challenges were. Tracy consitently communicated with me with not only answers to my questions, but also suggestions to make things easier and maximize my time. She totally earned my trust as she worked and reworked the itinerary to meet my every whim. She was unbelievably patient, knowledgable and 100% no pressure so I ultimately booked my 16 day East Africa Adventure to Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya with AAC.
After I made my decision, I opted to invite my parents to join me on Safari to follow the Migration. Tracy made sure that everything we did during that would also cater to their needs. The trip was flawless. It was epic and smooth. I felt completely covered as I packed to leave. It literally couldnt have been any better. We are all still glowing from our experience.
Marina, our concierge, gathered every detail needed for our itinerary including the travel plans that we made to and from Africa so that there was never a guess what was next. AAC offers the TravelKey app to give you everything you need at any time on your trip even without data service. Just another detail that was covered that made me able to think less and simply enjoy the experience. Trust the AAC process and timeline and you'll have no questions when you board your plane to leave.
AAC works like a well oiled machine. From laying out the timeline for payments, visas and general information to helping with every detail from packing lists, travel insurance to any last minute changes that are wanted even while you're traveling. They give you every detail that you need to prepare for the trip of a lifetime.
Their partners on the ground in Africa follow the same level of service. We were seamlessly met at every airport/airstrip, zipped through customs with our bags and on our way to our accomodation before some folks were even off the plane.
The accomodations were all great. Some excelled at some things better than others but all were clean, comfortable, hospitable and relatively upscale. The guides were dialed in, friendly, great drivers and more than answered the need for soneone local to help keep things running smooth. They became as much a part of our experience as the activities. Tracy kept telling me how much they trust their partners on the ground. They are right to do so.
Even when the news about Ebola threatened to derail part of the trip, AAC was proactive and provided us with real time information, options and time to discuss with them. Speaking quickly about Ebola; tourism in Uganda has crashed since May with up to 60% cancellations in a lot of places. Uganda is safe from Ebola and travel around, in and out is fine. Coming home to the US is not a problem if you book to fly through a US gateway airport. Go to Uganda.
Long story not so short.... I cant say enough about why you should book your African Adventure with AAC. Ask for Tracy. You'll have the best time ever.

Magical African Holiday
Our experience with AAC and Tracy was beyond words and spectacular. From the beginning of the process, Tracy was so great at listening to what we wanted from our vacation and making all of the experiences that we wanted to have fit our budget. She was thoughtful with making sure that we would be comfortable and that we would have a great time, even with teens and kids on safari.
The planning process can seem daunting, but Tracy and her team at AAC made it so seamless and straightforward, we were able to take everything one step at a time and it was all very clear and laid out for us to follow.
Once we were on our trip, everything was so arranged and worked so well. The team made sure that everything was taken care of for us and even made a point to check in to see if there was anything they could do to support. Tracy and her team really take care of you through out the whole experience.
Sadly, our holiday is over but it was magical. When we go back to Africa, we will 100% be reaching out to Tracy and AAC to help plan our next trip because we know we will be in the best hands.

Africa Adventure Consultants -highest level of thanks from us
Africa Adventure Consultants are real pros and my wife and I highly recommend them to all. Traveled as 2 couples, meeting up to combine a South African safari, then travel to Capetown, then we split up to visit other areas in the region that interested us for extending our stay.
15 day trip June into July 2026 through 4 regions in South Africa. We wanted a combination of an extreme luxury safari in a private game reserve at the Simbambili Game Lodge in Sabi Sands which is next to the Kruger National Park, then Capetown for restaurants and Table Mountain as well as coastal sights (we highly recommend the FYN restaurant experience in Capetown), on to the Franschhoek wine valley, and the pinnacle of high end luxury relaxation staying at the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, about 2.25 hours drive from Capetown.
Working with senior travel consultant Diana Hernandez out of Denver/Greenwood Village Colorado. AAC is a superbly run travel/tour operator at the very highest level of bespoke bucket list level for expert travel logistics. The communication and correspondence was all threaded perfectly -could not be any more delighted with that! All of the places recommended were personally visited and vouched for by Diana, and that shows with our delightful end results. This was definitely worth the high level of money spent.
We asked for an authentic (first time for us) South African safari and the resulting 4 day stay far exceeded my expectations. Look up Simbambili Game Lodge within the Sabi Sands Nature Reserve. Just the perfect balance of exciting safely organized, but thrilling wild game animal viewing within their natural habitat. We immediately saw not only the "big 5" but I would actually say the big 10 of animals and there was also the bonus rare footage of 2 mature black mamba snakes intertwined, either mating or fighting, hard for our guide to tell. At no time did we ever feel at risk of being eaten or in danger thanks to our guide and tracker in the Landcruiser. Humans are completely safe within the invisible trapezoid plane of the large vehicle. The animals see the Toyota Landcruiser as no threat, period. It's like you're invisible to that beautiful leopard, lion, Cape buffalo, hyena, elephant, rhino and more -often just 10 feet away from the truck. Heed their instructions. Don't wear distracting white and don't stand up. Every staff member there at Simbambili was so welcoming and a pleasure to interact with. Our safari guide Mike did such a great job explaining how these beautiful wild animals live day to day. His 30+ years of guide experience showed though with his articulate easy to understand cadence and narration. I would actually compare him with famed nature expert Steve Irwin, as a complement. Every game drive, morning and evening -there was always something completely different right around the bend. It's 30 minutes drive to get from one end of Sabi Sands to the other, so that miles and miles of intertwining well-maintained dirt roads. We often drove truly off-road through the wild brush, methodically tracking the elusive leopards for photos and video. I especially appreciated Sabi Sands being a private game reserve so Mike was able to drive anywhere he wanted, we had the private park to ourselves and did not have leave at dark, like they have to next door at the Kruger Park (which is when it really gets exciting and comes alive), and there were no crowds of tourists/safari operators, road dust or annoyances to get in the way. The food/wine presentations and quality at Simbambili was truly top-notch in every single way. Everything was included with no compromise.
I particularly wanted to commend AAC for their collaboration with Ilios transportation/tour drivers. Professional, well-spoken kind native South African drivers, always in a new comfortable Toyota SUV or van. From airport pick ups and drop offs to transport to and from various regions 2 hours apart from each other, Ilios transport does an excellent job -and AAC should be commended for perfectly coordinating the transfers with them. It's wonderful to not have to rent a car so you can safely enjoy quick private transportation to famed wine regions and their tasting rooms. Franschhoek is definitely worth enjoying for any foodie and wine lover.
We've visited and stayed at many high end places in our life, and I can truly say that the private Grootbos Nature Reserve, is one of the highest levels of a luxury venue for us to date. What a way to end a wonderful South African vacation. The luxury room (more like an extended modern luxury house/suite, than a lodge), the food/wine quality, their nature trail systems, and off site nature hikes and things to do....all so highly recommended to all. Don't miss their spa treatments -you're sure to be delighted.

Our 19-day journey through Southern…
Our 19-day journey through Southern Africa was an exceptional bucket-list experience. Africa Adventures designed a thoughtful itinerary that let us fully enjoy every part of the trip—from Cape Town’s waterfront and botanical gardens to the vineyards of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, an unforgettable safari at Kambaku River Sands in the Timbavati Reserve, the wonder of Victoria Falls, and a relaxing finale at Santorini Mozambique. Every destination felt carefully chosen and seamlessly connected.
Cape Town was an ideal starting point, offering a remarkable mix of coastal beauty, history, food, and iconic scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed the waterfront and the botanical gardens, both of which gave us a wonderful introduction to the city’s natural beauty and vibrant atmosphere. Africa Adventures’ planning made the arrival and first days feel smooth, which was especially important after long international travel.
The Winelands portion in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek was another highlight. Mont Rochelle Hotel and Vineyard was an amazing accommodation and an excellent location for enjoying several local wineries and the Wine Tram experience. The landscape of vineyards, mountains, historic towns, provided a beautiful contrast to Cape Town, and this part of the trip felt relaxed, elegant, and perfectly paced.
Timbavati Reserve Safari at Kambaku River Sands
The safari portion at Kambaku River Sands in the Timbavati Reserve was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our guide and tracker were able to navigate us into position to observe the Big Five and other animals as close as five feet away. We will never forget seeing leopards with antelope kills in the trees or the pride of eight lions relaxing in the morning sun. The lodge offered a refined but authentic safari atmosphere, and the setting made it possible to feel immersed in the bush while still enjoying comfort, excellent food, and warm hospitality.
Victoria Falls added another extraordinary dimension to the itinerary. After the stillness and intensity of safari, the scale and sound of the falls were breathtaking. It was a dramatic and memorable stop that broadened the trip beyond South Africa and gave us a chance to experience one of the great natural landmarks of the region. The Sunset cruise of the Zambizi River was another treat with sightings of crocodiles and hippos to accompany the relaxing boat ride.
Santorini Mozambique
As if the safari was not special enough, our four days at Santorini Mozambique ended the trip with the most relaxing and private resort experience we have ever had. After days filled with touring, transfers, safari activities, and sightseeing, the resort provided the calm and beauty needed to absorb everything we had experienced. The ocean views, peaceful atmosphere, attentive service, and sense of privacy made it an exceptional place to unwind and a perfect final chapter to the journey.
Africa Adventures’ Planning and Service
Every detail of this trip was expertly planned by Africa Adventures and we were able to easily track our detailed itinerary on the TravelKey application. Our itinerary never felt repetitive; each destination built naturally on the last, and the combination of Cape Town, the Winelands, Kambaku safari, Victoria Falls, and Santorini Mozambique gave us a rich and varied overview of Southern Africa. The food and accommodations at every location were fantastic and we found prices for food and services outside our all-inclusive stays to be very reasonable. Transfers, accommodations, experiences, and sequencing were clearly considered, and that attention to detail made a significant difference throughout the journey. We appreciated practical touches such as one-day laundry service at Kambaku and Santorini, which allowed us to pack efficiently for the entire trip.
As retirees we are experienced travelers, especially over the past 10 years -- this trip was our best yet! We highly recommend Africa Adventures to anyone considering a customized journey to Southern Africa. It delivered far more than a checklist of destinations; it was a carefully shaped experience with variety, comfort, adventure, and time to appreciate each place. If you want a true trip of a lifetime, get in touch with Angie and her team. They created a journey we will remember for the rest of our lives.
