Great personal service. Easy to order. Good prices.
I had a very good experience with ADS. I had questions about how to order my prescription goggles. I called up and a live person answered the phone and resolved every question. I also needed them on a rush basis for an upcoming trip. When I placed the order I was given a discount I didn't know my product qualified for. The goggles got to me in time--no problem! I got friendly service. The site is easy to use and if you have further questions, there is a friendly, knowledgable person at the other end of the telephone line. I will not hesitate to order from them again.

Game changer
Initially I was intimidated to order prescription lens online. But the help and feedback was great. Also-since I was buying them at the end of the year- really glad they understand what is needed for the health savings accounts (thanks).
These do what I wanted them to do. I have a progressive lens, so I can read a ski resort map when I need to, yet be fine on the slopes. I also wondered if the location of prescription gradient withing the lens might be a problem- but I am quite pleased.
Given the size of the prescription lens and the pieces that are bent to fit them into the goggles- I had anticipated that these might be irritating in my peripheral vision. I thought this could be the downfall for me. Not true.
I tested them on a sunny day and a snowy overcast day. On both days I was happy with the results. These are a keeper. I ordered a pair for my husband- and since he perspires a bit- he struggles with the fogging in the Smith Goggles with the fan. So I am hoping the lens inset works well for him- excited for him to try it.

Expertise through the roof
Amazing customer service from the get go. All email responses were fast and helpful. By phone Taylor walked me through my options with a ton of tolerance and expertise. It can get complicated and frustrating and ADS helped me circumnavigate all of that! My goggles and prescription inserts were immeasurably the best decision I have made for ski comfort in years. Park City, powder, snowing, sunshine and grey they were clear and perfect. Oh, and my order was fast.

Sports glasses
I ordered sports glasses for my son. The ordering process was fairly easy. The staff at ADS were very helpful during this process. I was happy with this part of the experience. The glasses arrived and my son says they are different when he puts them on. He says his vision is not what he is used to with his other glasses. I have no way of knowing if they got the correct prescription for his glasses as I am not the person wearing them. I may need to return them.

If there is a problem, we would certainly welcome an opportunity to fix it. I’m surprised we didn’t hear about this issue before it was posted in a review.
Any time the optical input to your brain is changed, it can take some time for you to get acclimated to it. Your son may be accustomed to flatter glasses in his everyday eyewear. He has a very high prescription, so we had suggested switching to the Free Form lens design for these wrapped sports frames. He may also be accustomed to a higher index lens. If he is still wearing glasses from a previous prescription he may never get fully acclimated to these new glasses. Any change in optical input will require some getting used to. And the more things that change, the longer this acclimation period may be.
You’re welcome to contact us to discuss a solution. I recommend upgrading to a Free Form lens for anyone who wears wrapped sports glasses. This is exponentially more important in higher prescriptions. Free Form lenses will also give him a wider field of usable vision. Naturally, all his glasses should have the same prescription.
We look forward to hearing back from you.

ADS for Oakley products
Good prices. High turnover in customer service. You need to be specific as to what you are looking for and proactive with them. Have ordered 5 sets of lens from them. Might go somewhere else to buy if I could find them.

We’re certainly sorry that you weren’t as happy with this purchase, but our Order Notes seems to show a pretty routine order. We confirmed the height of the progressive corridor, and asked about the PD Measurement that had been omitted, but both of these are a typical part of confirming any prescription order. All the specifics we needed were in your order. Nothing was modified after the sale. So I’m not certain what necessitated being proactive.
We actually have the lowest turnover rate that I’m aware of in this industry. We are a 12 year old company, and the average tenure for people in our customer service department is over 5 years. Everyone has over 2 years experience. I receive emails almost daily to thank me for having such knowledgeable, conscientious employees. This order sailed through with no issues at all. So I’m not sure why a high turnover would be assumed, or why there could be any assumption that being proactive had any impact on this order.
I frequently tell employees that you can tell more about a person, or a company, by the way they handle a problem than how they manage an average day. Perhaps this rating would have been higher if we would have had a catastrophe to manage.

Very slow!
Ordered prescription goggles and it took a month to get them! Poor communication with customer service. The only excuse I got was it was a busy holiday season and they close over NewYears. Really? Close your company at the busiest time of year?!? The goggles were pretty good though which is why they get 3 stars.

We certainly regret that there was a delay in this order. When I receive any complaint, concern, or suggestion from a customer, I take a close look at what we could change to bring about a better result in the future. In this case, there is not much we could have done differently.
If we had been notified that this was a rush when the order was initially placed, we would have recommended the free-form lens design. This would have taken about half as long. The fact that we received this order in December didn’t help either. People with Flex Spending plans or Health Spending Accounts that have to spend this money by year’s end or lose it, can often double or triple the amount of prescription orders we get in any other month. There are a very few optical labs in the country that know how to create a wrap-compensated lens that we require for these prescription ski goggles, and every one of them is overwhelmed in December.
It seems much of this frustration is from the fact that we took a day off for New Years. Although many of us worked on Christmas eve, there was no advantage in working through the New Year’s holiday. UPS, FedEx, and the US Postal Service were not making any deliveries or pickups. And all the labs were closed. Since these lenses were in production at our lab on New Year’s Day, having my staff skip this holiday would have had absolutely no impact on the date this was delivered.
Even in December, we were able to get most Rx jobs out in under 10 days. This one would have been completed faster if Free Form lenses had been selected; if we had received the Pupilary Distance image back a few days faster; and if it wasn’t in December. Working on New Year’s Day was a non-issue. But we are always looking for ways to make this process faster without compromising quality.
