I believe that Adopted.com has good intentions, but…
I believe that Adopted.com has good intentions. And I’m sure, at times, they produces results. But I feel that most people will be wasting their money. When Adopted.com informs you, that you have a 10/10 match, it doesn’t mean much. The matches are so basic. Might as well be, ‘Do you have 2 hands’, ‘Do you breath air? Okay, a little over-the - top, but not far from reality. In addition, most of the searchers’ don’t help things any! There is a message portion, at the bottom of the member’s profile, where they can add a personal message. Most people add nothing, or say something useless like, “I’d like to find my son.” WOW, how helpful! This is where people need to add any detail they can think of. But so often - they don’t! So after 2 months of absolutely nothing useful…I cancelled!

Mr. Vaughn, thank you so much for your feedback. We value all input tremendously! First, you are correct that we have good intentions! For 20 years we have been building and refining our registry to the extent that now people easily find who they are seeking on the very day they register, when the other party is registered with us as well. This easy mutual consent format was my dream when I started the site, and we have realized this goal! I can assure you the matches are not basic. We ask everyone the same 10 questions, based on things that everyone knows about the adoption situation. This helps us find matches for people even with just the rudimentary information they have. That is what makes our service powerful! It might feel basic, but that is the strength of it - our intelligent system is designed to find a pool of close matches and then you can determine if they are the person you are seeking, using whatever information you have. I'll share that I might not agree with you that people's choice of personal message is useless if they only share a thought or feeling, but we can all have our own view of this, of course. If you'd like some support with your search, please don't hesitate to click on the Support button (on any page of the site) to reach us directly. We love helping our members with their searches! Regards and respect, Katharine, Founder of Adopted.com
