How is it that the HD has put this place out of business yet? A generation behind in technology and reliability, sadly stuck in the 1970s. HORRIBLE online ordering experience. First I ordered an item, completed the order. Later on it told me the items I wanted were not available, but wouldn't let me cancel the order. Ordered another item, and told it was available for pickup. When I went to pick it up , they said it couldn't be looked up by last name. So I gave the employee the order number and he couldn't find it that way either. I showed him my email with the 'available for pickup', he said he didn't have it. I had to cancel the order myself, still waiting for a refund. The employee, Dave, said I shouldn't be upset because it happens all the time. Nice. Save yourself the aggravation, shop at Big Blue or Big Orange.

BE GONE ACE Hardware
Well, I see I'm not the only one that's had it with Ace! I also am a rewards member. I like many others will NEVER shop here again.
On 11/29 I placed a very simple (or at least I thought) two item order online. As a rewards member I was offered free home delivery and given the opportunity to pick the day of my delivery! This is great, I thought!
In the a.m. of 11/30 I received an email from Ace entitled "Your order has an update." I had picked this day for delivery, so thought it must be informing me that it was on its way. Wrong!
On this email was my original order number and an additional order number. They needed to obtain one of the items from a different store, though the website stated they had it in stock at my local store. It also said not to come to the store to pick up my order yet, they would notify me when it was ready for pick up. Um, huh?
I called customer service to clarify this was to be a home delivery and to see if the items would then be coming in two separate deliveries. I was told that delivery meant deliver to the store. Um, no that was a separate option (shipping, store pick up or home delivery.) Furthermore, they could find no order under either order number or my name. Call back in a half hour. Wait, what? Call again and wait another indeterminate amount of time to speak to another ill informed call center rep? Don't think so. They said they would call me back. They did, with no answers. I asked to speak with a supervisor who reiterated that I had requested store pick up. Again, no. Check the original order. It clearly states delivery and my address. Said supervisor then admits that I am right, but can't find the second order they generated for the item that had to come from another store. He stated he would look for it and call me back by the end of the day. After no return phone call from him, at 10 pm I again called customer service.
I will spare you most of the irate conversation I then had with them, except the part where I told them to keep their items, their rewards program (which is clearly worthless) and immediately cancel my order. I requested an order cancellation number for confirmation. I was then told that they could not provide that as they couldn't cancel the order yet. The item that they were transferring to my local store for "pick up" had to arrive at that store before the cancellation could be completed and she couldn't call the store as it was past store hours. WHAT??!! Oh, but she would definitely send me an email in the morning (12/1) to let me know she had started the process. On 12/1 no email arrived. Again I get to call incompetence central! Oh goody!
By now I start my conversation with what a crappy company with completely unacceptable business practices and customer service this company has and how disgusted I am by all of it. Much to my surprise the customer service rep tells me she is feeling much the same way I am about this place in general, but unfortunately she cannot only NOT cancel my order, but she cannot even look either number up as their computer system is entirely down. Well, now there's a surprise! NOT.
Today is 12/2 and I have yet to see a cancellation email. Again, a phone call to customer service. Again, I am told that they cannot do this until the item reaches the store I picked to "pick up" the item, but they have noted that I want it cancelled. Also, they see that the troublesome (my word, not theirs) item is ready for pick up at it's original location, so as soon as it reaches my local store the cancellation process will begin. How long will that take, I inquire. Well, no one seems to know (shocking, NOT!)
With any luck Ace will be out of business before my cancellation occurs. It would clearly be worth the amount of the charge and I would oddly feel somewhat vindicated. Additionally, I could dispute the charge with my great credit card company and have it reversed. BE GONE ACE HARDWARE!
PS. I have purchased the same two items from another business (12/1) and received an email today that they will be here tomorrow! And, BONUS, they have a rewards program I am a part of, so the order was $10 less than it was through Ace.

Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible! Ace would not honor their published sale price. Complete false advertising, deception, bait and switch.... A Toro 721E snowblower advertised in their 2020 Thanksgiving Day ad for $439. They wouldn't sell it, as they said it was an error and the price is $599. Then they said it was ACE corporate's fault. They gave me the number to ACE corporate and they said nothing they can or will do either. After 40 years of shopping at ACE hardware stores, I will now never step foot again in one. Very disappointing

No thank Y.
Ace Hardware Coppell location nasty employee
Ace Hardware, Coppell, TX
This store has just about the nastiest individual on front register I've ever experienced. In addition to ringing up customers it seems she plays door nazi. Walk into the "exit" door and you're immediately addressed in the nastiest manner. Who knew what was the entrance before was changed to the exit? Who knew that Covid-19 knows the difference between an entrance and exit door? It's amazing how the nasty attitude from a single employee can drive a customer away from that location forever.

Yikesssss!!!
Yikesssss!!!! I just experience the worst customer service ever in life here at Ace Hardware in Shelton, Washington I felt like I was being screamed at by the entire staff stating different rules such as" I can't bring my purse in the store because of theft" I will be fined if my mask falls down" all comments were very rude and suffocating. I was maliciously profiled as a thief who was about to commit crime on their store the second I got there. I couldnt even walk.thru the store without staff on my hip. If you drive to ace hardware in yoga pants and a camo sweater you should rethink your outfit because the staff was convinced I was some bum who was stealing only god knows what? So I highly recommend you do not enter this ace hardware, anywhere else will treat you ten times better. Shelton's ace hardware will no longer get my familys money or kind words.

Saturday morning ACE 11/14/2020
Saturday November 14, 2020 between 10-10:30am I stopped at ACE Hardware Phoenixville, PA. One store gentleman stopped me in the center of the store telling me I need to wear a mask or I can't be in there.
I said "I'm medical and exempt and you cannot refuse me." I had my medical badge around my neck and my medfile in my hand. He said "Yes I can. You must wear a mask."
I said "Are you discriminating against me because I'm medical and can't wear a mask?"
His answer, "No. I'm not discriminating against you. we just want to keep the customers safe. We can do your shopping for you."
[How dumb. What if I want to do my own shopping as always?]
I asked a question about windows, then left.
If folks want to wear a mask, fine. Originally masks were only for sick people. Gasoline was poured on the fires of fear causing folks to panic and then live in fear. Is ACE now a bunch of commies?
Is this USA or NAZI Germany?
Stores and businesses should be aware of the laws protecting people's rights NOT to wear a mask.
[Civil Rights Act of 1964, Anti-Discrimination Laws, ADA] Due to the lack of intelligence at ACE I will therefore be going to TrueValue down the road where at least they have common sense and do not harass or discriminate their customers.
My freedom does not end where your fears begin.

Ace Hardware is an awful company
Ace Hardware is an awful company. First off their website is terrible. Their customer support is even worse. It’s all done by a bunch of incompetents, apparently low paid workers in India and Pakistan. They don’t know their rear ends from holes in the ground. I could go on with specifics, but what’s the point? Look at all the bad reviews hear about Ace Hardware. Take their word for it, ace hardware is a crummy company you don’t want to do business with. Don’t even bother.
P.S. Don’t believe the few five star reviews you find on this site. They are written by Ace employees. You know something is wrong when a company gets lots and lots of one stars, and also gets some five stars but nothing in between. That means the one stars are legitimate and the five stars are all fake. The company sees that their reputation is horrible, and tries to fix it with some fake reviews. Don’t be a sucker. Don’t believe it!

Horrible
Horrible.
Commack on Jericho Turnpike store and they made a pricing mistake stocking their shelves - and would not honor the price marked on bird sunflower seed.
We have been going there for years.
The customer service person never called me back.
He promised to call the store and call me right back.
It’s been a half hour.
I even offered to send photos of the product and prices on the shelves.
The manager scrambled to correct the price on the slat under the seeds but I had already gotten the photos.
Dishonest store.
