Ordered a Packout Backpack that was supposed to be ready for same day pickup. Ordered said backpack at 3PM with the store closing at 8PM. It's been 2 days and still no email, no call. The website that's tells me how long it'll take does not load.

Ace is the place with the hapless hardware dolts.
Zero stars would be too generous a rating for the disservice and disrespect I received from Ace Hardware's cavalcade or contemptible curs. As far as I'm concerned, the entire operation couldn't go bankrupt fast enough to suit me.
I purchased an Ace component online that failed to live up to its product specifications due to poor workmanship and inferior materials. The product, manufactured by Ace, is marked with an Ace Satisfaction Guarantee, which apparently, isn't worth the cardboard it's printed on.
I called Ace customer service. The Ace agent instructed me to place an order for a replacement product online, using my credit card, and have the replacement item shipped to my local Ace store. I followed the Ace representatives directions to the letter. The Ace agent also instructed me to take the defective cord to my local Ace store. He said as soon as the old cord is returned to the Ace Hardware store, he would credit my credit card for the amount I paid for the replacement item. Once again, I followed the Ace customer service person's specific instructions verbatim.
Did I receive a refund? No. Instead, the Ace customer service person bamboozled me into thinking I would. I attempted to speak to a supervisor about this deception, but no Ace customer support agent would connect me to one.
Do yourself a favor, folks. Make your life a helluva lot easier by taking all your business to Ace's fine competitors. Unlike the belligerent, duplicitous nincompoops at Ace, these superior business entities treat a customer as a necessity, rather than an adversary.
There's an old adage in business. If you don't take care of the customer, somebody else will. Bye-bye Ace. You're a disgrace.

On Christmas Eve I purchased a Sthil…
On Christmas Eve I purchased a Sthil BG50 leaf blower in Franklin, TN as a gift to my significant other. He has his own lawn service business and I thought this would make a nice addition to the one he already have....After further discussion, we realize that a different brand is wanted/ needed for the business so we decided to return the one that I got.
As we both pulled up into the parking lot of Dunnavant Valley Ace Hardware location, a male worker stood in the doorway watching us suspiciously as we got out of the car (my take). He then walks away and a female worker comes to the door to do the exact same thing. Once we approach her closer, she turns and walks away (no greeting at all). We proceeded to the register. A friendlier younger guy comes up and asked if we have return, then asked for the receipt. Before the young man could start the transaction, another male worker "marches" out of no where, removes the receipt from the salesman hand, quickly scans over it, then rudely tells us the that they are independently own; we would have to return the leaf blower to the store where purchased.
We wasn't even in the store a full three minutes and there is a nicer way to handle things.
Rules are rules and I'm all about following them.
But I'm still trying to figure out what was it about us that deserve such a cold treatment - from the parking lot to the register. I'm honestly puzzled???
Between the lawn business and my Etsy store, we visit Ace frequently to purchase supplies. I'm sad to say this will be our last time. I'll much rather take my business to a place where I'm not treated like I STOLE the item that I rightfully purchased.
Side note: Sending a huge THANK YOU to Ace Hardware-Bellevue in Tennessee for your friendly customer service that you provided last week. Each rep was extremely helpful on such a busy day. I walked away that day happy and proud of my purchase :)

Customer service is not the priority
I bought a particular item at store 60 miles from my home. I also purchased other items that i could use. I spent over 100 dollars. I noticed when i got home one item was not exact and went to local Ace for a simple swap out for correct size. They said no you got to drive all the way to purchased store. I thought this was a horrible return policy. Therefore i thought people should know its basically individual stores not a brand with good customer service. Spend my money at tractor supply from here on out. Boo on Ace!!!!!!!!

Terrible people/RUDE
DECATUR, IL Ace Hardware - My son wanted to drive his power wheel truck but I forgot he needed a longer screw for his steering wheel. I noticed they still had 10 minutes until closing and I live down the street. As I was pulling up to the store, I see the lady in the store (the cashier) start shaking her head, upset since I had showed up. The guy (I’m assuming he’s the manager) did not show good customer.. both of them acted pissed off. The two gentlemen in the back that helped me were so nice, helped me until I got what I needed. They were rushing me out the store that they wouldn’t even let me go to my car to get my money. I get everyone wants to go home since it’s the holiday season; but don’t forget to show good customer service! I didn’t feel welcome at all! I’ll never give them business ever again...

Online buyer BEWARE!
I ordered a shed online and as usual, it gave me an estimate delivery date for me to pick up at the store. About 4 days later, I received an email saying that my order had been cancelled. I called Ace Hardware to find out why it was canceled as the email didn’t specify why. The customer service told me it was canceled because it was unavailable. I asked if it would be available if it was delivered to me, he said yes. I asked him to order it for me but he said no, I had to reorder online. I sent an email to Ace Hardware letting them know that they shouldn’t advertise something if it wasn’t available...that was 2-3 weeks ago, I have yet to hear anything from them. This had been frustrating as we had prepared for our outdoor shed and were very excited about it. I am NEVER going to order from Ace Hardware again! They should have tried everything to help me out and sell me what I wanted but obviously they don’t need my business.

Ace: A rotting business (sadly)
I went to Ace to support the underdog, but this dog needs to be taken out behind the shed.
It's apparent Ace does not value their business in the way they do business; employee hire, training (or lack their of), and customer service is appalling.
Here is my summarized reason why:
I went in with some questions to help me decide which tools and supplies I needed to purchase.
Though not pleased with the situation unfolding before me, my attitude was quiet, polite and patient..
I interacted with 3 people: 2 had questionable English and lacked people skills and finally did not know what a circular saw was. (this is a hardware store, hire some people who know tools).
The third person likewise was of no help in answering my questions. It seemed a burden to him show me the location of some of the things I came to purchase. Also no help in answering my questions regarding these.
Instead he decided it was more important to practice today's social/political agenda he has apparently been programmed with (I assume Ace assisted greatly in this). He said that he believed i could make anything I wanted to make as long as I used my brain to think.
I responded that I was already aware of my capabilities, but I am trying to get some help finding the rest of the proper supplies I need in order to do it. He said he was trying to pay a compliment, but it seemed quite underhanded as if he thought I lacked competence and confidence in myself because I had questions.. none of which had yet been answered (by anyone). He said he had to go because he was only 'allowed to spend 5 minutes with a problem about a tool they don't carry.'
I reminded him that we had moved on from that situation and now my questions had been about about things I want to purchase from Ace.
It was at this point I was done and concluded to myself that Ace does not deserve to be in business, so I will take my money elsewhere.
I informed him I no longer want make any purchases and wished him a good day.
As frustrated as I was with him, I blame Ace.
He is clearly unhappy there and doesn't feel he has anywhere else to go work.
