Recently drove one of their vehicles on Turo. About a day into the trip I notice the rear driver’s side tire was low and I put air in it. A day or two later the alert came on again the tire began to lose air rapidly. I changed the tire and alerted the owner. He was chill about it. Next day he said he was filing a claim, but sold it as a procedural step to get reimbursed by Turo. Turo then reached out to me and said that due to the claim by the owner, I must provide proof that I did not cause the tire to go flat otherwise I would be responsible for paying for the owner’s vehicle maintenance of the tire. The owner refuse to accept responsibility for his vehicle maintenance and refused to pull back the claim. Do not rent any vehicles through Turo with this company title without getting full coverage because they will file a claim on any maintenance item and put the burden of paying for it on you as the driver. I’ve rented nearly 50 times from Turo and never experienced this from a vehicle owner. I even had a flat tire one other time that needed to be changed during the trip and the owner then didn’t feel the need to shift the responsibility over to a driver for an issue that was cumulative in nature. This owner will do right by him and not you as the customer as was proved with my case.
