Lots of issues re a custom trip to ethiopia for two people. It started with very misleading information regarding the standard of camping available (in the Danakil) and difficulty and length of transfers between places. If we had received accurate information we would have reworked the itinerary substantially. Then they failed to deliver on some simple things like arranging a local SIM card needed for work while we were traveling - it turned out to be simple and could have been organised at the start had they bothered to get the local guide to set it up. Some accommodation was very far below the standard described and the local guide was not very good. We took great care to explain what we needed and wanted and they failed to listen and to deliver much of the time. WIll not use them again.

First I must commend our Puglia guide who was stellar. Francesca was remarkable in every way. Very professional, caring and knowledgeable. The itinerary devised by our A & K agent was a disaster and Mr. Keith Baron should be ashamed of himself for having such poor agents on board. I have been dealing with A & K for 20 years and have never had such a poor itinerary. It is quite it has been sold and is no longer owned by Geoffrey Kent. Our guide in Palermo had a fight with everyone, the poor cafe owner, server, drivers. She showed up with no itinerary on hand and asked what it was we wanted to see. Really? The hotel in Lecce was totally inappropriate for two elderly ladies and we had to change hotels and pay extra for the second one. Staircases with no railings are not acceptable in two story suites. The meet and greet at the airports was stellar but that his due to Alitalia service. The itinerary was dreadful and our agent never told us there was absolutely nothing to do in Agrigento except for ruins which can be seen in hour but she booked us for three night!!!! Our agent was hard to reach, she was pregnant had a baby which is nice but her mind was obviously not own her job. Quite obviously. Am not using the A & K again and it is a pity because you did such a nice job in the past but it seems those days are way gone.

Abercrombie have always been a company that I have really respected and wanted to do well. I like the family ethos and have always been very impressed with their marketing. I did not want to write this review, however, I have been so disappointed that I feel that I have to. We have just arrived at our hotel booked by Abercrombie in Cape Cod and the room was terrible, it was filthy, stained, incredibly damaged and stank from dog wee (the tenant downstairs had a dog which continuously barked for the time we were in the room). I then was told that the property had a 3 star rating which I had no idea about. I would like to stress that this level of filth and smell would be unacceptable in any standard of hotel. Abercrombie did contact the hotel and they offered to move us into a new room, hence the 2 star rating rather than 1, however, we had completely lost faith in the property and just wanted to move. We genuinely are not big complainers and the only time this has happened to us previously was about 7 years ago when travelling with LWC (who we use a lot and are excellent), LWC moved us immediately at no extra cost and never involved us with any discussions regarding them getting their money back from the hotel. Abercrombie completely acknowledged that they should not have booked this hotel, however, unfortunately said they could not cover the cost of moving us as they had booked the current hotel and may not get their money back. If we wanted to move we would have to lose all the money we had paid and then rebook the new hotel at the book price (I know this as I rang and checked the price). My kids are now 5 and 7 and although I really rate LWC I thought that Abercrombie may be better for the more adventurous holidays that we are looking to book over the next 10 years. I always say that you only really get to know a company when you have an issue. Unfortunately Abercrombie have not lived up to their 'luxury brand' image at all and have provided service that I simply would not have expected.
