The setting, view, gardens, swimming pool and location were all excellent.The kitchen was well equipped. The general villa condition and quality of such things as bedding was poor. There was no bedroom with twin beds as advertised (2 boys had to share a double bed) The BBQ ignition didn’t work. Several door handles fell-off when used. There was one table tennis bat only and no ball. The villa manager was rather abrupt and frankly a little rude.

Our trip to Spain and Portugal did not meet expectations. This was our first A&K trip. It did not compare favorably to our Tauck trips, Backroads, or even trips we planned ourselves and guides we hired. There were numerous disappointments that I won't even mention here. My husband and I both wrote to A&K and received no response. We didnt want anything from them...in fact we wouldn't take another trip with them if it was free. We were only trying to give some constructive feedback. I would be happy to go into more detail if anyone is interested.

I was not impressed by their service. The guides in Egypt were good but the local service was not outstanding.

During the research and booking period I found response times really slow and when I wanted to pay, the process was cumbersome and again slow.

Our first trip with Abercrombie & Kent. We were hoping for a luxury experience. We did stay at 5 star hotels and group size was small. We felt that was where the luxury ended. They were cheap on wine at the welcome and farewell dinner. For a 3 hour dinner only one glass per person. You paid for the second glass. I did not feel our guide in Jordan did anything other than check a box. The Israel guide was great. We have done Tauck and was for more impressed. They also do not ask a customer’s opinion after a trip. They apparently do not care. It was a great trip but not the service leaves we expected for the price.

Wings over Mediterranean Sept 2022. Other than the intra-city flights which were first class private jet, the rest was......average. Tour buses with windows too small to see any passing points of interest. A 250 sq ft "luxury" hotel room---thought I was in a Motel 8. Museum tours led by local experts who over-talked so long that they cut into anything that was planned for the remainder of that day. Restaurants....3 in particular very small, crowded, and not even remotely above average. Written itinerary says "and then return to your host city and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure." No way...we usually got back to the hotel around 5:30 after already passing up at least one planned exhibit. We had no special tour group privileges...we were just part of the pack and were overrun by tourists at every stop. $40,000 per person....a big huge "ouch"

This is my first trip with Abercrombie & Kent. I’ve been on several trips with National Geographic and loved those. I wanted to try a different tour operator and see how they compare to National Geographic. The trip is 2 months off and already I’m having my doubts. Multiple emails from different people asking for the exact same information, namely flight arrangements. I keep telling each person when I sent the requested information and to whom. Nothing much about the trip itinerary yet or who will be leading the tour. By now with National Geographic I would have had that information and would have been provided with a list of suggested reading materials to learn more about the tour destinations. So far, I’m less than impressed. This is supposed to be a top tier tour operator…they certainly charge top tier prices. Time will tell

I found the communication to be somewhat lacking. It seemed I was always chasing after a response, even down to asking for the itinerary which appeared literally a couple of days before our travel. I was prepared to put the first few hiccups down to the pandemic but it never got any better. When I did get to speak with them it was always pleasant but I expected better, as I know another customer who always receives good communication. If I didn't know about this, I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend them. The room in the Barcelona hotel came across more like a 3 star rather than the 4 star. I found the room decor and furniture a little shabby and the cleaning was not great. On a positive note, the local tour guide was excellent and that made for an enjoyable day out.
