In my most recent experience with ABC customer service I left a lengthy message about the importance of the human element in healthcare. I hope that message goes to the top, but here is a summary. It's great that you now have the option of ordering on-line, if that works for the client. Realize however, that your clients probably don't feel good, we have to do yucky and weird things to just to stay alive. We might be grouchy or impatient, or feel isolated. Your customer service personnel do much more than sell medical supplies, they provide a crucial link in the health care chain. Something as simple as a monthly call asking if I'm ok and ready to order supplies is more important than I can express in words. ABC customer service staff are consistently knowledgable and compassionate, they help us get what we need when we need it, and make us feel good about it. Few things are more scary than the prospect of running out of supplies. I'm always confident that ABC personnel will get me my supplies accurately and swiftly. So by all means, keep up with technology, but remember the people on both ends of the phone call. That interaction helps make a grim necessity a bit more tolerable, and I believe we go our separate ways feeling better than when we started. I say good job, don't slack off, what you do is important. Your customers need you. Thanks, Fredrick
