84 Lumber lacks professional installation workmanship and lies about workmanship guarantees.
We are a military family and returned to the States in July 2021 after 8 years of being deployed overseas. Previous to that, we had never lived in our home as construction was completed while we were deployed. We arrived to discover water damage. In an effort not to incur further damage we replaced the siding as quickly as possible, including some structural framing. It is currently sitting NEXT to the house. Our HardiePlank was installed by 84 Lumber in Eighty Four, PA and a James Hardie partner in the “We Build America” initiative. A claim was made to James Hardie as there is a 30- year warranty. This was denied as “the siding has already been removed and replaced and there are numerous installation errors present”. 84 Lumber in Eighty Four PA has stated the warranty on their installation was 4 years from completion. PA law is 10 years for workmanship. I believe this is an example of big business taking advantage of individuals while we are doing the work to allow them to have their businesses. Makes you think about service and ethics.
