Charged $ for time w/o power from Hurricane Beryl
I believe I am being charged an unfair amount according to the electricity I consume (nearly 300$ a month.) But what really irked me, was when I received my monthly bill from them, after Hurricane Beryl. The bill stated that I owe around the same amount as the previous month. I knew that was incorrect, since I did not have power for two and a half days, so I reached out to them via email to dispute the amount I owe, but they told me that they are not taking into account the days I did not have power - so they're charging me for those days that I did not have power. Absolutely absurd. If they do not lower the amount I owe, then I will be switching to another electrical provider. Communication with them has been concise and respectful though.

Hey there, sorry to see you upset. What you were told over email is correct - for days you don't have power, we don't take those into account when it comes to your usage. If you're not using any power, it's not sent to us by your TDU so we can't charge you for something you didn't use while electricity wasn't flowing to your home. We don't tack on usage to make an extra buck, that's simply not how we do business. Nor do we charge customers for electricity they didn't use, we can only bill you for the amount of kWh you used sent to us by your TDU. If you have any further questions feel free to reach out. Have a great day.
